I assume for delivery? Pretty sure there’ll be a ‘cooling off’ period in which you can take it back and then do as you said and switch it over to IP

It’s only a matter of a week, Apple are known to hit the early estimated part of the dates in the past.
If you’re buying outright it’s your call. I prefer buying from Apple, great returns period and rather deal directly

Received an Olixar clear case for my XS Max and I'm quite impressed. Definitely slimmer than my equivalent 8 Plus clear case from Spigen, and loads more grip. Only time will tell if it yellows quickly or not...
Also received a screen protector from Olixar as Spigen don't have any Max ones available yet. Not happy and will be sending it back as I wanted one that doesn't cover the notch. Will most likely end up with the Belkin one from the Apple store tomorrow. Will be quite interesting to see them fit it, as I've had a pretty damn good track record with fitting screen protectors over the years.

Ahh! I'm actually looking for the non-full coverage ones. I had a full-coverage one on a former 7 Plus and it greatly restricted the cases I could use, as they would sometimes lift the edge of the protector up.

Yeah I'm expecting a dispatch/tracking number to become available for anytime today. Even this evening.
I pre ordered two XS Max and a Series 4 watch, so maybe because of that, it's taking a bit more time before it ships.

I'm sure I can remember past years, dispatch emails and tracking numbers, happening, the evening before launch day. Apple are usually bang on with delivery dates, and I've never had an order not deliver on the date.

UK Mail now recognise my tracking number on their site and say it's out for delivery to the local O2 store.

In the same boat here .. personally I would never want to deal with Carphone Warehouse if there are any issues with the phone!
I’ve called Apple about items past the 12 month warranty and, because I’ve bought direct from them, they have replaced them!
Got burned once because it was bought somewhere else and will not do it again!
Just be careful not to leave the credit card in the slot if you are using wireless charging.

they don't usual pre-order but on the watch thread, there was talk of their CS on twitter saying stock will be appearing throughout the day for store collection tomorrow...

Good choice! Any dings and scratches on the silver will polish out, whereas the space grey looks awful once it starts flaking and chipping.
