Ive upgraded using the Iphone upgrade plan. Does that mean that I effectively lose a years worth of apple care and have to start it again?

I've finally bitten the bullet and told Vodafone to do one, moving to EE. They've fleeced me for years with their rubbish customer service and rip off prices. I'm getting a 64GB Max in gold plus a 44mm series 4 watch with cellular and GPS for less than I'm currently paying

The cost is spread over the 2yrs, so in effect you've only paid for what you've had. You'll get a new AppleCare plan with the new IUP agreement for the new phone.

saw these and thought about it as we get an extra 20% discount from work, if it works with quidco could be a bit of saving

I’ve looked on my account and if I had an extra line it’s £10 a month cheaper for some reason. Not that I would as will wait til November

That’s what I am now doing
Gonna order a EE sim deal so £20 a month with my staff discount.
About £100 cheaper over the 2 years from a EE contract but at least I ain’t tied down for 2 years.
Can always sell it and get next years model
Can you do that? Will the store allow you to set up the phone you’ve just returned on iUP otherwise they might not have stock...

So glad I saved up over the last few months for my XS Max.

Some of these contract prices are crazy! £70 + a month for the next 2 years? No thanks!!!

£20 a month for Unlimited calls and texts with 40GB of data is my contract for life I think. :D

Also anyone found any decent screen protectors for the XS Max? I like the Spigen ones but cant find them yet.

But if you take the cost of your phone and divide it by 24 then add that to your £20 a month you will be close to the £70+ ‍♂️

Yeah. They will just return it as closed box which will add it back into their stock system then sell it out right away again on iUP

Never seen a launch where the regular model in all colours and storage sizes are still available for next week an hour later...

Maybe because not many people ordering at they use to?

Iphone X production slowed down earlier last year due to less demand year on year.

With high prices, austerity, higher food/tax prices, uncertain brexit in the UK, people don't have money to spend on luxuries like they use to.

From iPhone 1 to 6s i purchased every phone on day 1. But as prices started hiking up I just didnt think it was worth the smaller spec upgrades. I will however go for Max S 512gb- but waiting for dual sim details from EE.

Thank you. Never done it before. I was loooking for an idiots guide to it on the forum but there have been so many threads its difficult to search on iphone day. But that answers my main question :)

Availability seems very good this year (or weak demand). Can still get XS on the 21st when ordering now.

I got my order in for instore pick up fine but stupidly didn't go through the iUP link. Is payment going to be taken immediately, or, am I fine to still sign up to iUP when I get to the store?

I understand that, but Id rather chuck any spare cash I have away at the end of the month, buy the phone outright and then have a lower monthly fee as to pay £70 + a month for the next 2 years.

Happy pre-order day all!

At 8:04am I managed to order a 64GB XS Max in Space Grey + black leather case for home delivery on the 21st.
No London stores were available for pick-up for me.

Much smoother process than ordering the 256GB X last year.

Get in there!

iPhone Xs and Max ordered (I’ll try to keep the Max via the upgrade program, or return it).

Stainless Steel watch in order as well.

They ran out of store collection, as I was forced to enter my address again.

The max and watch slipped to the 24th-26th.
