Yes you can open it. Distance selling act says you can.
Of course this is in the U.K. I imagine a quick read of the :apple: T&C might confirm the rules.
Even if you buy it in an Apple store you can open it and use it for 14 days and then return it. Apple have an awesome returns policy. I’ve only ever returned 2 things, some beats earphones which I’d used and an iPod touch. They took both back no quibbles and they were not faulty. I just didn’t want them.

Last year my iPhone X went to Preparing for dispatch the day of pre ordering but it stayed like that until Wednesday morning when it shipped ready for Friday delivery.

As he mentioned there is a promotion on eBay offering just £1 final value fee so if he sold for £750 he’d get £749 minus the PayPal fee (3.4% + 20p) = £723 so a fair bit more than the recycler.

There are genuine buyers on eBay , I bought an X 256GB on there today !

I've just seen it now. Wow thats amazing. I might have to try it for myself.

How did you get that
To be honest I phone them up asking for more data my contract expired last month they said to me and quoted price £25.
I politely ask for customer relations team to see what deal can I get before asking for my pac number and move to three for more data allowance.
Had a long chat got to know the person over the phone after 25 minutes lol he just said have 40gb for the same price.
I currently paying £10 for 1gb data each month with unlimited talk/text.
Very happy with this outcome.

You have the cheapest plan I think 40gb £10 well done.
Just to show how much money these carriers are making on us.

Any guesses as to when the first proper reviews will start appearing?

As happy as I’m sure I will be coming from a 6s I did find the actual information given about the xs was rather unspecific. Granted, I’m not a keynote expert and don’t have any experience with the “better this, faster this speeches” but I was hoping for more concrete announcements which I assume proper reviews would be able to nut out.

Release day probably, and I'll assume iFixit will have a tear down of the iphones very quick too.

This!

Saved me trawling though pages and pages of last years thread.

I was pretty sure we had early PFD last year too and then a long wait. Wasn’t it by that time they were in the U.K?

IUP upgrades can’t be tracked but would assume are on the same shipments but clearly going to the store allocated.

I preordered two iPhones with the intention of cancelling one tonight once I had decided on he colour I was settled on. However when I log in it is now too late to cancel the order. Will I be able to return one of the phones to an Apple store for a full refund based on this mistake?
Such a selfish thing to do. Someone else could have ordered that phone. They should limit this to one per account because people take the damn piss.

And I thought I got the 40GB plan on a good deal lol.

Should be £35 and i got £15 loyalty after 16 years and pay £20 a month.

Did ask if they could match the Three offer and that was the best they could do apparently.

£7 per month for unlimited data ;)
Nice how did you get that? Nice
I heard bad things with three the speed is terrible and customer service is a joke.
Two of my Work colleagues are on three getting speeds like 4mb in cities.
Me always getting around 30mb with EE everywhere I go.

Any EE employees here put me on F&F on the side just this once. I buy you beers tonight and we will talk data allowances. ahaha

Have had a sim only deal with Three for a good few years now. £19 a month for unlimited data text and minutes and 30gb teathering (good for my iPad when I’m away from Wi-fi).

Just did a speed test (ok it’s late so I guess the network isn’t at its busiest, but) I’m happy with the result

I am with Three since day one, and customer services have always dealt with any issues swiftly and accordingly. Yes you may get higher speeds on EE I’ll admit, but my speeds are perfectly fine for what I do. It’s the amount of data that’s important and unlimited is just unbeatable I guess.

As to how I got it, guess I got lucky with the rep via live chat

Another reason I move to EE four years ago I don't really trust three that why I had a long think today and decide to call EE one last time.
2014 On the ONE PLAN contract for £15 a month they booted me off it and move me to a £30 expensive sim plan hoping they don't do the same to you sellling you a cheap sim deal and decide to kick you off to a higher tariff.

Seems like they are upto the same tricks with three overselling cheap phone contracts and sim plans deals once they gain an extra million customers the network starting to struggle with capacity.
Things need to change we kick off the low paying customer sim only tariff first send letters make them pay double.
