I think John Lewis are a safe bet to get one from about the 21st May. You get a 2 year warranty as well.I don’t want to wait until July, do you think will have stock in stores in may?
ThanksI think John Lewis are a safe bet to get one from about the 21st May. You get a 2 year warranty as well.
you could hedge your bets though by placing an order with Apple just in case the shops don’t have them. If they do, you can cancel the Apple order. You can do this anytime up to the point that your order changes from “Processing” to “Preparing to Ship”. The order will not change to “Preparing to Ship” until a few days (at most) before delivery.
I hope this helps.
I would have thought that you can get Apple to address any issues that arise during the first year but the 2nd year’s warranty from John Lewis would not be for Apple to honour. Thanks
if you buy from 3rd party can you still take it back to apple if any issues. Apple have replaced my 2nd gen 12.9 twice now “stage lighting” fault
Thanks

I’m confident of delivery on or soon after the 21st because my experience with Apple is that they tend to under promise and over deliver, usually getting your device to you nearer the earlier date quoted in the delivery window.Does everyone who’s initial order confirmation stated 21-27th May, online accounts now say delivers 27th May?
Just wondering how likely the 21st is.
Excellent! Now for the waiting game.12.9”

Arriving on the 27th May. I pre-ordered about 30 minutes after it was available to, so managed to get the earliest delivery date.
It’s going to be a long month ?Excellent! Now for the waiting game.
It is but I’m hoping that we actually have less than 3 weeks to wait. It’s going to be a long month ?
Fingers crossed. Like others on here my confirmation email gives a date range of the 21st to the 27th and an arrival date of the 27th on the Apple Store App. Under promise and over deliver has also been my experience with ordering through the store, so as you say hopefully less then 3 weeksIt is but I’m hoping that we actually have less than 3 weeks to wait.
It’s good to hear that your experience with your 2017 IPP has been so positive. You must be very excited about the impending upgrade.iPP 11”, 256GB, silver, WiFi only + Smart Keyboard folio. Order 1:05pm via web site in order to use University store discount with Open University/Unidays.
Upgrading from a 2017 iPP 10.5”, 256GB, gold, WiFi only, currently on its second Smart Keyboard cover. It’s been my primary computer & ereader, occasional video watching device and all round excellent machine for the past 4 years. The iPad Pro line has long since proved it worth and asking price. I’d been tempted with the 2018 & 2020 iPPs but didn’t find them to be enough of an upgrade over the still stellar 2017 iPP. The current form factor design + desktop class M1 + 8GB RAM? A no brainier of an upgrade.
Quoted delivery for iPP itself 21st-27th May, still reporting as same via Apple Store app.
Smart Keyboard folio arrived yesterday. Staying sealed until the iPP itself puts in an appearance. Provisionally booked 21st May off of work to take receipt Can’t wait!
So nice of Apple they will deliver the Pencil 2 alone today. Is that how does one become a ghost writer?
So nice of Apple to expressly ship the pencil the first minute they could, so when my iPP arrives some three weeks later, I will no longer be able to return the pencil with it, as I will miss the return period by at least one calendar day.
I'm not sure if I will like the iPad, but I will make sure I will like the pencil. It will be forever to keep, after all.
Or just return the pencil in the next few days and re-order nearer the time. Clearly there isn’t a shortage.just apply for a return on your 13th day then you get another 14 days to return it if you choose to return the iPad
Yes, also the 6 year consumer protection would be with JLP not Apple.I would have thought that you can get Apple to address any issues that arise during the first year but the 2nd year’s warranty from John Lewis would not be for Apple to honour.
Of course if it’s a manufacturing fault then Apple should fix it regardless.
I couldn’t agree more. I’m a great fan of John Lewis and their Customer Service but they’ve had a hard time recently which I’m pretty certain could have a knock on effect; a less generous approach to warranty claims for example.( I know which I would prefer !)

Correct, a lot of people still don't understand UK's great consumer law, or haven't even heard of it
Although when retaliating with this info to a business who won't back down, ....they soon do when the law is mentioned.
