Ordered my Space Grey, 11" 1Gb from O2 at 13.07. It said at the time 3 weeks, but now O2 seems to be a bit mysterious about it all, after getting an 'out of stock' email.
That doesn’t sound great. Hopefully though it’s just a glitch and you’ll get it in the original time frame that they promised.

Did John Lewis ever get stock? I remember checking throughout the day on launch but ended up ordering via apple in the end. Just curious as it's still OOS on their website.

I still don't have a fixed date (21-27 May here), but my Pencil came on Saturday and Magic Keyboard today. I'll just pretend I have it!

My second gen Pencil also arrived on Saturday. My white Magic Keyboard is saying 21-27th May, while my iPad Pro (12.9” 1TB space grey) is saying 2nd-16th June.

Ok, so I have changed my mind and gone for the iPad Pro 12.9 512gb instead of 128gb. Went on Amazon, and saw I could pay by 5 monthly payments. Estimated delivery will be 28th May, however I feel Amazon will get them sooner. Plus I can get it delivered to a drop off point.

I was unable to book off the 21st May so literally unable to be excited as I’d worry that it would not get delivered etc as I’m not there.

Will also try John Lewis but I think I’d prefer Amazon and wait a week extra.

However, I’ve heard John Lewis aren’t brilliant with the aftercare service.

I think Amazon are a bit more for keeping customers happy too.

I’ll decide on the 21st at 8am if I want that iPad to come on the 22nd from John Lewis or wait until Amazon deliver it.

very excited either way!

first time I’ve had the 12.9 iPad, looking forward to watch content on there and use the magic keyboard.

Anyone here tried the 'paperlike' screen protector? I've got a techarmour matte currently but it does reduce the clarity quite a bit. Heard it's suppose to be a good middle ground.

Yup, I have the Paperlike on my iPad and love it. It makes using the Apple Pencil a much nicer experience. It genuinely feels more resistant and more similar to paper.
When you order they send two in case you mess up the fitting of it which is a nice touch I think.

How does it interfere with the screen quality etc? is it noticeably different?

In my case, the screen quality does become noticeably worse and "grainy", but as Loopy65 mentioned, the writing experience does feel much more "paper-like" if you will.

Update: changed my mind and upped to a 12.9 512GB Space Grey from O2 with 25GB 5G data - but delivery says more than 6 weeks lol so here's to a wait and a half!

It’s not quite as crisp admittedly but if you use an Apple Pencil a lot the good outweighs the bad. It kind of puts a Matt sheen onto it I think? If I didnt use my pencil so much I’d rather not have the paperlike to be honest.

I’ll be ordering from Curry’s, it’s showing on their website but as “coming soon”. I was able to preorder the AirTags through them, does anyone know when the iPads will be up for preorder?

Does anyone here from the UK have a delivery date of 21 May? Not the email confirmation 21-27 date range, but the actual delivery date against your order on the Apple website.

I very much doubt that anyone does although those of us with the 21-27 date range (ie those who ordered early) are hopeful that we might get our iPads on or very soon after the 21st.

I'm not even convinced the 21st is going to be the release date here anyway. Too many other places and networks are all consistently saying 27th/28th including Amazon. I've yet to see any mention of an earlier delivery date anywhere other than the initial order confirmation email from Apple.

My optimism for the 21st (or thereabouts) is based on experience over the years of Apple tending to deliver on or nearer to the the earlier date quoted in the delivery window.

I may be wrong on this occasion. We’ll see.

If you remember correctly, John Lewis accidently placed the 21st May as the release date (which has now been removed)

Whether or not that was just a place holder - who knows
