They sent me a mail just now saying it was incorrectly priced. But they sold multiple units at that price so that makes it the 'correct' price, doesn't it? Yes their fault for not pulling it sooner.

I asked CS to escalate for me just because I'm in a bolshy mood today. But I've also set up my Apple delivered one :)
no it doesn't make it the correct price. why would all models be priced at £800? yeah it's their mistake for not sorting it out but they don't need to honour the orders. until they hand it over to a carrier or you walk out the store with it then they can cancel it. it's completely up to them if they want to honour it. if it was a mistake where a £850 model was bought for £800 they might but people have been saving as much as £500. they won't be letting people keep that if they can help it.

they don't need to honour it. only when they ship it or you pick it up at a store then they're out of luck. until they hand you it over then they have the right to cancel the order with you and issue a refund.
I know mate, but from a customer service point of view they should honour it.

I find it funny how they are still the incorrect price on the app haha!

my screen protector/case arrived! the screen protector took a bit of lifting to get bubbles out but no trapped dust yay! i couldn't decide on a case so just went with a magnetic one. the edges are exposed but whatever as long as the back doesn't get scratched up and i can fold it into a little stand :) i'm surprised how strong the magnets are. that thing ain't budging.

here it is ready to go:

IMG-0086.jpg

my room has horrible lighting so the photo came out extremely orange but i've tried fixing the white balance. the case is actually pure black but looks brownish here so yeah...the screen might look a bit whacky but it's really nice in person. not shown i also bought a USB C to A dongle which arrived with the case/protector. i got it so i can use my sd cards, flash drives, and external drives.

and as you can see it hasn't been set up yet. i'll do that later. it's been a long day and i need to relax for a bit.

I mentioned earlier that with me at least they broke their t&cs by not following them in offering me the device at the regular price. They also claim I cancelled it in their email, which could be another genuine mistake but appears to be a way that they can wriggle out of their own t&cs. A disgrace really.

I moved from the 10.5 previously to 12.9 now, I must say the additional size and weight isn't that noticeable to me, and the Magic Keyboard feels slick to use (had the logitech combo one before).

Think this iPad will last me another 4 years!

I’ll say this, I’m glad us UK cellular owners don’t have those hideous extra antenna ‘windows’ near the speakers like the US devices

It’s needed for mmWave. We’ll probably have it too in the near future as I’ve heard mmWave is coming to the UK. 5G is fast enough tbh, but mmWave is even faster!

Congrats to all you lucky ones who get to enjoy your iPads today. Bigger congrats to those who got their £800 IPPs on Argos.

I'm pretty frustrated... I got my confirmation email 16 mins after presale going live (12.9, 2TB, 5G, no engraving), and got a delivery date June 2 - June 16.
No card charged, no news and no change on my delivery date.
ATM everything is the same, so I checked on Apple's website to see if I could pick-up the same model at store, and cancel my original order.

So:
I could get the same model on a store almost 2 hrs away from home (I live in central London),
sacrifice either 2TB for 1TB or just Wi-Fi instead of 5G.
Or wait for almost a month...

In your experience, is there a possibility to receive my original order earlier? Should I just bite the bullet and fetch it from 2 hrs away?

? Sorry, just venting...

Yeah I noticed that as well. If they broke their own t&cs then maybe I would offer a discount. But likely they will just apologise and that’s it.

Have you spoke to anyone and mentioned the t&cs?

Ok I know nothing is confirmed ‘blah blah’,

Brian Tong was speaking to some Apple dudes and the question was raised (@ 16:18) regarding the power iPad Pro now has…..saying “you can’t tell me with 16gb RAM we will be using the same apps as now“, It was obviously swerved but Scott Broderick did quietly say at 20:10 “they can’t speak about anything into the future”

Im really honestly thinking we will now see something special at WWDC, and a few Mac apps being ported to the iPad Pro *cough* FCP ???

Apple’s delivery estimates are usually overestimated. In my experience the product ships at least 1 week early.

But if you don’t want to wait just buy one from the store via pick-up. Stock refreshes daily at 6am so check then and you may find the 2TB model available for pick up. Also you can try checking third party stores.

From what I’ve read Apple doesn’t produce a lot of the higher end tiers because very few people buy it, they mostly focus on the lower tiers (128 and 256GB in this case) as that’s what a lot of people are going to be buying. So that’s why it might be difficult to find 2TB (or have a later delivery estimate).

if it was the wrong price why did they then complete the transaction with anyone that got collection at 9am? Same exact model. My argument is by doing that they can’t then cancel other orders for the same item at the same price

Hi, had my order email at 1:03pm on the 30th for the exact same spec. Really needed the 2tb as my iphoto library just exceeded last years 1tb option I had. Was convinced it was going to be the 27th for delivery but was delivered today a 10am. If you need the storage then hold out! I would have drive a lot more than 2 hours! Best of luck in getting yours!

I’ve just got home and am setting mine up. What immediately strikes me going from a 2nd gen, is that 3rd gen on are so much neater. The 2nd is very bulky, as the bezel is massive in comparison.

The other immediate impression is that in daylight at least, the new screen is quite close to true black, with real pop, but not oled level inkiness.

Happy iPad Pro day everyone. DHL eventually delivered my 12.9 iPad and DPD delivered the MKB first thing.

Just wanted to say thank you to those on here that kept say ‘ignore the 27th May delivery day, keep calm they will be shipped on 21st May’. I had my doubts but yep you were right ( for the majority of us ) Thank you.

Thanks! You gave me light @ the end of the tunnel, I guess it's just the tickle to get my fingers on it... I would definitely try to check everyday on stores closer to home and see if I can trick the system hahaha.

Hi, I tried my hardest to buy mine on the first minutes, but I was in an endless loop of store glitches. I def need the configuration because I use my iPad for work.
I would have driven longer as well hahaha! But since I have to take a train, the idea of being in a giant sealed metal bullet with a ton of people is dissuading me ?

I guess @ this point is anxiety vs anxiety, but the need for new tech might win.

So I spoke to Argos on their live chat and they said I would need to call their number to speak to someone about the price. Then I spoke to some who said I would have to go into store to speak to them about the price. Might go into store tomorrow and say I paid for one, it was cancelled and they should honour the price. What does everyone think? Haha
Worth a shot even though it got me nowhere.

I went into Argos and the guy there said that he couldn’t do anything but I should speak to customer services. I did that but they stubbornly refused to honour the price even though they had taken my money. They said I’d get a refund in a few days.
