just quickly set up my ipad. well not completely. downloaded some apps, rearranged them, and deleted some. now installing 14.5.1. i can't believe how fast this thing is. also, i was a bit unsure if i had made the right decision going with 11" but i know have now. at first it looked so small but using it the screen is the perfect size. the ipad is the right weight to hold. the display is so good too and yeah this is the 11" model. wow.

so happy with it :D

The HDR vids on YouTube look absolutely superb.

I don’t suppose anyone knows how to transfer a photo library from one iPad to another without going via. PC?

Just watched some and they are breathtaking, and I have an LG OLED TV lol.

As for pics, I'm assuming you aren't missing the obvious iCloud Photos route, and want to do something else?

my screen protector/case arrived! the screen protector took a bit of lifting to get bubbles out but no trapped dust yay! i couldn't decide on a case so just went with a magnetic one. the edges are exposed but whatever as long as the back doesn't get scratched up and i can fold it into a little stand :) i'm surprised how strong the magnets are. that thing ain't budging.

here it is ready to go:

my room has horrible lighting so the photo came out extremely orange but i've tried fixing the white balance. the case is actually pure black but looks brownish here so yeah...the screen might look a bit whacky but it's really nice in person. not shown i also bought a USB C to A dongle which arrived with the case/protector. i got it so i can use my sd cards, flash drives, and external drives.

and as you can see it hasn't been set up yet. i'll do that later. it's been a long day and i need to relax for a bit.
Do you have a link for the case please

I probably need to get to grips with iCloud photos. I end up with multiple copies of photos on my phone and iPads. In the past I’ve backed up to the cloud (including pics), then restored. Now though I’m up to my limit on iCloud, so the restore did everything except the photos.

I think I should have done the ”restore from another iPad”.

Delivered at 1030am this morning. Restored from my 2018 12.9 pro iCloud backup and all setup. Fits perfectly in the magic keyboard I had my 2018 in. Just need decent weather to get some drone footage recorded so I can edit it on this beast.

You and me both, can’t wait to get Droning and this bad weather to bog off

After spending a few hours with the Logitech Combo Touch keyboard, I do have to say that it gives the feeling of a real laptop. Honestly, both typing and trackpad are excellent!
Now, now... we just need a better iPadOS :D

I just wish the case part wasn’t a case, and more like a magnet attachment like the Apple keyboards.

I see you... I really do.
But then it would look a lot like the Apple offering.

Tbh I really like that you can use it as a standalone case. The track pad is also click anywhere. And the keys have really good feedback, which is quite impressive for the thickness.

I love that the keyboard can attach to the back with the keys facing the back of the case. It locks with the magnets and stays there.
The standing flap at the back is also very good. It has magnets to keep it safe when not open and it is very sturdy when open.

Overall, very impressed and it also covers the iPad all around (except part of one of the sides where the pen goes).

Has anyone got the white magic keyboard and space grey iPad Pro? I just wanna see some photos or videos of it in real life (all I could find was renders). seems like most people are pairing the white keyboard with silver ipad pro….

Really? What makes you say that?
Well, last time I saw the 12.9 it was when it had Touch ID and the bigger bezels. The newer one seems a lot less bulky, and would not be much of a hassle for the bigger size than the 11" one. I watch a lot of videos, read a lot of comics, as well as some other hobbies, and just think it would be the better option.

Also, I think that I would have less of a reason to have my MacBook Pro, as I have an M1 mini since moving into a new place, that had more space for things. Between that, and what has to be coming in iPadOS 15..... I deffo which I had just ordered the 12.9 instead.

Just a quick thanks to everyone on this thread for mentioning trying John Lewis. Interminable wait for Sky so I popped over to the John Lewis site this morning and am waiting on a ipp 1tb to arrive tomorrow.

this will be an upgrade to my trusty 2015 gen 1 ipp which performs like a slightly tired but much loved grandparent, apart from the battery which is absolutely knackered. I am looking forward to comparing the two. It’s lasted 6 nearly 7 years and has been a constant workhorse. If this new one lasts me as long I will have definitely got my money’s worth.
