but Jeez Louise, you just don't need it, do you ?

Indeed no, I believe the term rhymes with 'clucking bell'.

It's probably something silly like a mixed up delivery reference or a neighber I didn't know the name of. Or it could be one of Moseley's distinctive tribe of street drunks somehow masquerading as me and then selling the iPad on for cheap cider - I'll look on the bright side shall I? :D

3pm and still nothing from UPS, they usually come at 12:30..

I think UPS are using different drivers - my partner was speaking to the UPS driver that visits his work at 9.30 yesterday, a different driver delivered mine today at 1:50pm ish today

I rang UPS to confirm nothing was wrong about 5 mins before it arrived - worth doing if you're worried. They've obviously got an awful lot to deliver - wonder how many were shipped in the UK today?

As soon as its delivered UPS's online tracking catches up - its a bit of a duff system!

It's gorgeous - can't wait for the sync to finish

Thanks to everyone here - it has been great fun. Finally got my iPad via UPS in Manchester and loving it. Real Racing HD has meant I have got no work done, and I'm also loving Wired. Fingers crossed for those that are left waiting.

I saw the number "27,000" floating around so it could be around that many out for delivery today, a few thousand more tomorrow and add that the pre orders for June 7th delivery... I'd say apple will sell around 200,000 in the first week or two ...now that's just a rough number plucked from the sky because most people I've spoken to are not yet convinced they need it.

Just arrived here in Chesterfield. I am so excited!

I was called down to sign personally for it - just as I went onto a phone conference....luckily, they found my mobile number and rang on that!

...and I must say, what a lovely guy the TNT man was!
:D :)

My orders gone from 'out for delivery' to 'held in warehouse' to 'please call', but can't seem to get through at all.

I think it must be a mix up because I know UPS are under strict instructions NOT to leave these with neighbours. If that is the same for TNT, and that is actually what has happened, I would raise merry hell if I were you.
In fact there might be napalm if it were me (j/k - you have to be careful what jokes you make these days on the net  )

(brief pause to answer door)

OMG ! Mine is here !! Yippee ! Driver was amused because I was so pleased to see him.
Norwich, NR5.

Hope you's gets sorted out soon, moseleyite.

Could anyone tell me if it is worth working from home for the rest of the day based on the following UPS info?

TAMWORTH, GB 27/05/2010 5:38 DEPARTURE SCAN
TAMWORTH, GB 26/05/2010 19:34 ORIGIN SCAN

It seems that despite TNT being able to deliver the iPad a day early to people in England, from Hong Kong, UPS couldn't manage the same feat across the Irish Sea...

keep it a secret, but....

... I just got mine delivered (Surrey). I'm 42 going on 12. Last time I was like this was waiting for my Sinclair Spectrum... which never arrived. This thing has knocked 30 years off me! :p

Good luck to all those still waiting.

Made it home, but no progress from...

CROYDON, GB 27/05/2010 4:56 OUT FOR DELIVERY

Croydon to SW15 in the traffic I cycled through - yuck.

I had the following error

27 May 2010 10:19:07 London City Delay Due To Routing Error. Recovery Actions Underway

Turns out they sent it to the wrong frickin depot. So it's being sent to Croydon and won't be delivered until tomorrow. And the worst thing is, London City is 4 miles away from me, and Croydon is 12. TNT ftl
