I am now very pleased to say that I have received my Croydon iPad. The delivery driver looked very tired and said that I was the last person on his list and he was going home to play with his OWN iPad now

Needless to say I tipped him for a hard day's work, he says there are some tomorrow to do as well. Delivered at 8.55pm, thanks and goodbye!

Wow I'm also in croydon and got mine at 1030 am, long shift for the guy!

using the iPad as I type this, it's the best browsing experience ever, so much more comfortable than sitting at desktop with 27inch iMac or with the MacBook. Browsing in bed before sleep will become a comfort routine much like picking up a novel.

Yup lying in my bed also can't believe the ease of typing on this :D congrats to all who received today ;). Hard luck if you didn't !! Fingers crossed for nice early delivery tomorrow.

It's not just the typing for me, just how easy it is to move between a website.

The guardians website is just brilliant to use in landscape, I can instantly scroll the latest headlines on the page, and go to the ones I want.

At the moment I'm using the 32gb which is my sisters one when she's back from Uni. I'm very glad I ordered a 64gb now, because it's going to get full very quickly for me.

This really is a fantastic thing. Well worth the ~5 month wait.
Looking forward to the book store and app store filling up. And when iPhone os4 comes out. iPad gets even better then.

So easy to use and type in. A lot easier than I expected to be honest.

And a day early too, how nice. Lol

What is in your iPad? Films and pictures?

I can't really ever seeing myself using all my 32gb. Yet anyway.

Yes!!!!!! Mine is finally scanned at my delivery depot in NI, I might actually get it tomorrow! :p
(can't believe i'm happy about this, lol)

Dood ! You're one of the last names here that I recognise to get their ipad, so I will be still watching this thread until it's safely in your hands.

How many miles from the Croydon depot are you? I'm only about 2miles away and don't know if I can bare to wait all day!

So mine went out for delivery yesterday at 9am - consider my surprise when I waited... and waited... until I get this update from TNT:

27 May 2010 18:30:00 Stansted Time Constraint Prevented Delivery. Delivery At First Opportunity

I wasn't expecting it until today anyway so it's all cool. Looking forward to it!

Well, my case had it's UPS "destination scan" in Dundee at 0631, but the iPad only arrived at the depot at 0220 and hasn't changed since... Will be gutted if the case gets to Aberdeen today but the iPad doesn't!!!

Roll on 0800 when I can call UPS to see if the "remote location" of Aberdeen City Centre gets deliveries today!

Just had Origin scan when I went to sleep last night this morning mine is out for delivery! AWESOME!. But I have an exam this morning. : ( Generally UPS deliver about 11am-12pm though so I might be able to get back beforehand else the concierge in my flats will pick it up : ).

I can't wait! Will pick up a capacitive pen from Maplins cheap to use with iAnnotate PDF : ) for uni notes

I had an attempted delivery yesterday (TNT) but I was at work, its just arrived now, so excited, thought I might have to hang around all day waiting for it to arrive.

Hope everyone waiting gets theirs today as well,

Will be a combination of video, pictures, apps and music.

I've never used iTunes to download films/tv shows, but I did so especially because of the iPad and I'm getting very addicted. My films and tv shows already take up 15gb. My music collection is about 40gb. And I have a few thousand family photos although only a limited number will be on the iPad.

One thing I didn't like about my iPhone was that I had to be picky with my music collection.
Also I listen to alot of podcasts.

Is there an option to convert music to 128kbps before its synced like there is now for the iPhone?

It's amazing how many cars sound like ups vans when your waiting for an appl delivery!!!

Some guy in a van stopped out side of mine, thought great it's here, then he looked blankly at me and picked up the charity bag from next door and left. Getting my hopes up :( lol

Lol I also have my ears tuned to every single engine sound outside, hurry up Mr UPS Man!

Edit: anyone with Sky News, they are about to run a news story on the iPad.

I had the same when i was waiting for Parcelforce to collect my old 3GS to be sold few weeks ago. Suddenly everybody with a car seems to want to fire them up and pop to the shop 2 minutes away in them  lol

Just off the phone with a very helpful lady at UPS... Both iPad and case going out for delivery today - yippeeeee :D:D:D

Good job I called though as Apple had missed half of my address of the shipping label - All they had was a flat number and the city and postcode (there's about 10 blocks of flats in the same postcode with the same flat number!!!):eek:

Given correct info and will be getting a call from Dundee shortly to confirm - hopefully I'm going to be less Grumpy and more Happy in a few agonisingly long hours...:D:D

Picked up my iPad from the TNT depot last night, yes there was a queue but the TNT people were organised and had a guy going down the line of parked cars McDonalds style and fetching out the iPads.

Having only used it for a few hours I can say it's one of the best Apple devices I've purchased in years - yes there's a few bugs here and there but overall it really is an excellent experience. The newspaper and magazine apps in particular are clearly the way forward in my opinion, just feels so natural!

Hope those going to stores today are able to get themselves an iPad.

Doesn't look like I'll be getting mine today. Can't see them delivering to a business address after 5pm.

Oh well, guess I'll have to wait until tomorrow.

Pete

Well I didn't get mine. TNT just gave up. Status now says please call. I eventually got through and given two options, collect from the depot or wait until "after 2 at least" for it.

I would have collected but they insist I need a utility bill for the delivery address, great but not something you can supply when you're delivery address is a large limited company satellite office.

Since I have to leave early today, and wont be back in the office until Wednesday it looks like I'd have been better popping into the local PCWorld on the way here this morning  Not happy with TNT.

Pete
