Well, I got to say, I'm slowly getting worried...
It's contagious!
I've placed my order shortly after 0:00 GMT on 10th of May (seconds after the store came back up online), and so far... still nothing!
Germany, iPad3G 64GB plus O2 SIM, paid with credit card.

Received my confirmation email almost 12 hours later, and I cancelled 2 items from the order later that day (decided I won't need the case and the camera connection kit for now). Maybe cancelling those items pushed me back in the queue?
Still, others who ordered even after I cancelled those items seem to have their iPad shipped already.

If there is any sort of pattern here, I honestly don't get it.
But somehow I'm still confident they'll ship it on time. Else I will cancel the order and get one from the Apple Store (which is luckily not far from where I live). I'm kinda certain they will want to avoid that sort of thing.

Is it normal for Apple to use several couriers for a product launch?

I'm guessing they coming from different parts of the world depending on stock allocation and if you required any accessories and their stock allocation. Must be some crazy logistics going on.

It must be a logistics nightmare. I am surprised how Apple do it so well.

I think that is a bit of an over statement lol based on what we've read from customers here their orders are all over the place with no sensible order (shipping based on when orders were placed) and apparently they have iPads already stocked up in UK Apple shops dealing preferentially with potential buys while all of us are frantically checking our order status online

Seconded.

From a personal viewpoint, this whole buy-an-iPad process has been a stress-filled nightmare. It shouldn't be this difficult or this little fun.

I can see where your coming from. But to bring all this together for a mass delivery next Friday is no mean feat. I was just as anxious. Still am as no money has been taken and I cant track anything yet. But all along they have said dont worry you will have it on 28th. Mind, if I don't I will be back here calling them all names under the sun LOL.

Strange, no email from Apple!!!! STILL

Hmmm mine might be different. I dont have a number under Estimated delivery or a red box. Only numbers I have are Original order number. Additional order number and tracking number.

Just noticed this at the bottom of my order status page on Apple UK site,

*It may take up to 24 hours for shipment tracking information to be updated on our carriers' web sites

Does anyone know if Apple change their order status on Sundays or will no shipping activity happen on a Sunday?

Yes. I will probably try again tomorrow or Monday. I found the number on the US site. If I put it as a reference its not recognised yet. As a consignment number it comes up as an Athens consignment. I think someone else mentioned that earlier.
