Its come from China, but I am assuming its gone to a different hub as maybe we are all southern based?? But then again Northampton to Nuneaton ain't exactly far????

3 types:

Oh, if only Apple had switched on MobileMe "Find my iPad" on all these units before shipping...

Reading between the lines, we've got semi-official word from Apple stating that no-one's getting one before Friday; the Apple site saying Thursday, but Apple claiming that's just an automatic thing that's wrong; TNT's ordinary staff saying Thursday, but Apple claiming they're working with dedicated teams; etc.

All of this is contradictory information, and even if Apple mandated Friday, they're not the ones doing the deliveries, so all bets are off. It's not like Apple haven't had colossal failures with their logistics partners for major product launches before (yes, I remember the international iPhone 3G launch bitterly with the crashing and the grabbing and the kicking and the burning...)

Saying "Apple say Friday, so it MUST be true" is just as unjustified as saying "TNT's computer says Thursday, so it MUST be true".

Oh, and don't believe "OUT FOR DELIVERY" either. I've had packages arrive three days after an OUT FOR DELIVERY before, and not due to any mistake either: the stock gets allocated for a van but the van doesn't actually leave until days later.

Smart money says hope for Thursday but plan for Friday, and don't be horrified if TNT / UPS get confused and it's stuck until Tuesday. As I mentioned before, it wouldn't be the first time.

Best I can say is that it'll probably arrive in the next seven days, and possibly as soon as first thing tomorrow morning.

I'm another TNT International and mine is also tracking as in transit at Northampton - mine's on its way to Southampton which is hopefully not outside the realms of possibility to make it for tomorrow (which is what the Apple site is claiming). I won't get my hands on it till the evening at the earliest anyway, so either way I will probably be visiting the Southampton depot to pick it up unless my housemate takes delivery of it during the day.

I'm not sure how all you guys with exams are coping! I'm up to my ears
with work but can't help sneaking a peek at this thread every 5 mins or so.
I guess it works out at about 50/50 work/thread at the moment.

Do you think you can get special dispensation for the examination boards
for ipad dementia?
