Nuneaton TNT

iPads should soon be getting thrown in the back of a trunker thats what they call the large lorries that connect the central hubs to the regional ones, then will make its way down to in my case southampton for tomorrows delivery drivers to load there vans ready to depart depots at around 07.30am. Thats the best laid plan anyway!

Anyway just to address a point raised a few pages ago, about the change of original dates to June 7th, that actually happened around 7pm on tuesday night 11th.

I know this because I was actually waiting for cash to clear in my bank, and was panicking, but I got my order in around 2pm on the tuesday, and I immediately got my email of order, dating 28th and delivery, and it always has said 28th.

Now of course through tracking, mine is in the UK somewhere, so personally I think if you ordered after 7ish pm on tuesday 11th, then I think your odds are maybe bad, as the June 7th date was given when there first allocation had run out.

Anyways guys, guess we only have hours now either way.

Long time internet user, first time forum poster but I can see myself coming back to this forum in the future.

The community that has built up around something so tenuous as delivery dates, times, tracking flights, deciphering cargo manifests, decoding serial numbers has been a genuine pleasure to watch unfold.

And yes, mine is still in Nuneaton.
 
Hi where are you guys getting this tracking info from? Mine just updated from not yet shipped to shipped in the last 5 mins and says expected delivery tomorrow!

Looks like Apple were just lazy with updating your order status. The e-mail you get should have tracking info or on your order status there will be a number there

Well this is just confusing the hell out of me. The lady at TNT said definitely tomorrow (Thurs) but the TNT tracker still says

03:08 Netherlands ARNHEM HUB Consignment on-forwarded to next station

yet lots of of TNT people have it at their local hub - seems like TNT's website was designed as part of a Govt. IT project :mad: :confused:

Cheers just got too excited and was checking TNT when it's coming by ups lol so excited!!!
 
Well, my iPad is in Northampton by the looks of things; I assume it will shift over night to my local depot which is Basildon; for delivery to Chelmsford.

Anyone have any idea if the guys with their iPads still in transit from the Netherlands if we have a chance of receiving them tomorrow? I was told by TNT I would but I find that hard to believe.

I just called TNT because tracking has been showing my iPad as stuck in Arnhem since 2:00am this morning. I have lots of info that I hope will be of use to folks waiting on TNT:

1) The TNT guy asked me if it was an iPad and immediately said that they were having issues with their tracking system but that all the iPads are due for delivery tomorrow.

2) Normally if they fail to deliver (no one at address to take delivery) they leave a card and wait for the customer to call to arrange a re-delivery. They will NOT be doing this with the iPads. If they fail to deliver on Thursday then they will automatically attempt redelivery on Friday and then again on Saturday. The Saturday delivery window will be between 9:00am and 12:00 midday.

3) Tomorrow they will be able to give a better idea of delivery time once they have all the loading manifests for the local trucks. If you call after 9:00am then they should be able to tell you roughly where in the route you will be so at least you have some idea if the delivery is likely to be morning, afternoon or somewhere in the middle.

I hope you folks appreciate my selflessness here. I confess that I debated a bit whether to mention point (3) since I've probably just added a few thousand people likely to jam the TNT phone lines tomorrow morning when I'm trying to call. At least it's an 0800 number - well done on that one TNT.

My final observation is that, like quite a few other people here have mentioned, the TNT guy I spoke to was really, really nice and helpful. I wonder if they love us and this whole Apple/iPad thing because they're getting lots of overtime out of this.

One thing occurs to me. This thread might be all fun and excitement now but spare a thought for where it's likely to head as we get closer to Friday at about 18:00. The lucky amongst us will have got our iPads and stopped participating so this place will be full of bereft people wondering why their iPad hasn't turned up; it's going to be a very depressing place to be come Saturday.

I really hope mine does come tomorrow because that'll mean that I won't be housebound on Friday. Out of curiosity, on Friday morning I really fancy walking the 500 yards or so to my local Currys (which is on the list of stores selling it on launch day) just to see if it is bedlam. If I'm still waiting in for TNT then I won't be able to do that.

Ouch, thats going to be close. Although I think you can pick it up if it arrives at the depot after the vans leave (ring them first).
I thought they would have flown them to N.I.

I think so, Liege is the air hub.
Looks like it got to Arnhem late, so they are sending it by plane:p
