The differences in passcode lock options are due to whether you are using Microsoft Exchange.

I had the same change after 3.1 - 1 hour down to 15 minutes. a coworker's with exchange also, did not change. he still is allowed 1 hour. our IT made no change with the 3.1 update. so seems to be an issue with the update. why would one phone do it and not the other?

I thought in beta 3, when you try and move an icon around on the homescreen, they vibrated. It's not working for me.

I noticed the option to "Forget this Network" is now gone on the Wi-fi screen. The only way I could get off the guest network here at work was to turn Wi-fi off. Then when I turned it back on I was disconnected again. Not a big deal, but I'm surprised it's gone.

It shows up on mine. All you have to do is click on the blue arrow next to the network and the first button on the next screen is Forget This Network.

I've noticed quite a few glitches in the iPod app on top of the aforementioned smart playlist bug. I've got a 3GS.

The album view lists multi-artist compilations multiple times. Also, the podcast view scrolls very jerkily (I have around 30 podcasts in my list).

These are pretty obvious glitches. A black mark against Apple's test team.

Regarding perceived performance increase, I think it's a placebo effect (and fact that you've restarted the iPhone).

iPod/YouTube is still often very slow to respond when playing back video (bug which surfaced on 3.0).

Not sure if this is new or not but the one touch dialing apps finally work. They use to require an additional click to call but now they go straight thru.

For you Exchange users, the Sent folder is now a choice for "Mail folders to Push". That was not there before - or it was not there on 3.0 for me and my 3GS.

Noticed so far that my battery hasnt ran down as fast. Usually by mid day its around 40 or 50%....but so far its at 68%. Quite a diffrence...and ive used it just like i normally do.

I noticed a couple things:

The calendar now offers a a day view that looks similar to the layout of iCal. Haven't seen that before.

Also, my dock connecting peripherals (clock radio, portable speakers, car adapter) are more consistantly showing the ipod controls without the volume bar. It was silly to have the bar show since it never affected the volume the dock's output.

Sound

I've noticed that when I unlock my phone the unlock will either be normal volume or very faint like a keyboard click. It keeps going back and forth and its getting really annoying... any one else with this happening?

Also same with my ringtone volume when someone calls or i'm changing it or even setting an alarm

My tv shows and podcasts now sync out of order

My entire set of playlists is out of order too! In fact, my top 25 playlist has songs that souldnt even be on thr list at all. I've tried resettin my iPhone 3x already. Any suggestions? Otherwise I'm going to go find a Mac "Genius" tomorrow at the mall to harrass!

really? i heard that some people said this isn't true. i hope to go it doesn't go from low to high.

Where is screen-shot

The MyPhone+ app now has one click calling, so that is a nice change. Passwords in forms seem to be working better.

BUT, when I click the Sleep & Home buttons at the same time it locks my phone instead of taking a screen-shot. WTF am I doing wrong??

Sorting Apps

I thought in beta 3, when you try and move an icon around on the homescreen, they vibrated. It's not working for me.

Well now you can do it all in iTunes - not just a single app - a whole page if you like

Select your iPhone in Devices (in iTunes) and then select the Applications tab

After installing 3.1 on my 1st Gen' iPod Touch, double clicking the Home button no longer brings up mini music controls in the middle of the screen. Shame as I used that a fair bit :(

The best I can do is, in settings, assign it to got to the iPod (i.e. the Music app).

Landscape mode now seems to work even when you are walking. On previous versions, I had to stop working to get landscape sensor triggered.

To take a screen shot, you have to press the home button first, then hit the sleep/wake button.

The double click home button no longer brings up the iPod controls, regardless of music playing or not. Is that a bug or something Apple is purposely leaving out?

What happened to battery percentage becoming available on all devices? The toggle still isn't available on my old 3G.

hmm not sure if this is a bug or just a fluke, but all of a sudden my battery life is totally crap. I didn't do any video watching, just texting, email, and a little but of web browsing. Nothing overly strenuous on the battery. Hmmm

What's every one else's battery life looking like?

(it's searching for the network because I had just rebooted the phone)

For some reason, after 3.1, it won't sync one of my regular podcasts onto my iPhone 3GS or my iPod touch. The other podcasts sync fine - just one podcast (my favourite, naturally) doesn't work. I've resorted to putting those podcasts in a playlist and syncing them that way.

If anyone's got a fix, I'd be grateful.

Otherwise, so far, everything else appears OK.
