Keep in mind that both the 13-inch MacBook Pro and the Dell XPS 17 boast a full 32GB of RAM to the Mac mini’s 16GB. The XPS 17 is also running a 10th Gen, 8-core Intel Core i9-10875H alongside a GeForce RTX 2060 Max-Q GPU with 6GB of VRAM. Finally, both the 13-inch Intel MacBook Pro ($3,000) and the Dell XPS 17 ($3,000) that we tested cost a whole lot more than the fully-loaded M1 Mac mini ($1,700) used for this comparison.

Photoshop with m1 support now, problem is every time I pasted vector objects from AI to PS, it freezes up like 3-4 minutes. Anyone with the same issue?

yes had been happening on beta since a month. I never waited 3-4 minutes. I assumed it crashed after a minute and force quit - didn't have that problem with photoshop on rosetta

Is AI on Rosetta 2? I read that a known issue is copy/paste between PS (Rosetta 2) to/from PS (M1) and the work around is to use the same architecture (hence, if there's no M1 version of AI)

This could be it.. It freezes even when pasting from a PDF. Saving the pdf image and opening isn't a problem

Hi - can someone add "MOS" to the list (I only just joined the forum & cannot edit the wiki)

It's a free utility that smooths mouse scrolling when using non Apple mice.

I installed it & checked activity monitor which shows it's a native Apple process on my M1 Mac Mini

Many thanks !
Paul
I took care of it for you, Paul. Thanks for the submission and welcome to the forums.

I do not understand much on app development field, just curious though, does it take long time for a typical progarm to be re-written for ARM architecture?

I guess that all depends on the developer and their knowledge/skillset. Not to mention their motivation. I've seen almost all of my many used apps get an M1 version. There's still some big holdouts, but they'll most likely come sooner than later.

I’m looking for a good adblocker with native m1 support.
ADGuard don’t have it yet and well the I won’t use it either.

and the damn horizon client are driving me crazy as it crash all the time but let’s hope that VMware will release native m1 soon

Pretty sure 1Blocker is ARM native.

Spark is by far my favorite email client. Works great on M1. I dont care if it is not native.
Spark has become incredibly slow for me. It's had a few maintenance updates over the last month but if anything it's got worse.

To be fair, its performance is bad on Intel & Apple chips. I think it's just become a bloated mess, but a brand new re-write can't come soon enough.

I am guessing that will arrive when Windows support is finally a thing. Development has all but stopped in the last 12 months so I can only hope they are busy behind the scenes.

Well it’s not quite as good as ADGuard but it’s native so I’ll just stick with 1Blicker until ADGuard has m1 support
I am surprised you are choosing a worse adblocker because it's a native arm app instead of a good one which is emulated.

I can relate to the feeling of wanting all applications to be arm native but I will never use a native app above an emulated one if it's a worse app. Especially as most emulated apps are running very well.

I don't think I've had adds or other annoyances break through 1Blocker. I've been using it on my iPhone, iPad and Mac for a while now and I'm pretty satisfied.
I agree with your statement about choosing a working but emulated app over an inferior native one, but in this case I don't think there's much lost.
