ARM support
We are thrilled to announce OneDrive support for ARM-based Windows devices Join us in the Insiders Ring to opt-in for the ARM preview by end of this year.

M1 support

We recently announced that OneDrive will be natively compiled for M1 and will be releasing a preview for the Insiders Ring in December. You can take full advantage of the performance improvements on M1 by early next year.

It seems Apple's move to ARM for MacOS is encouraging MS to take Windows on Arm more seriously.

Trying to cut myself off from as many external drives as possible ... I just use the iCloud for most of my personal things and even some work files. I don't have to use the OneDrive, Teams ... or GoogleDrive or DropBox. The on-line teaching at our university employs Zoom (zoom.us app on my iMac) and they use Nextcloud for the file exchange (via my Safari browser). When I get Microsoft docs they open into the Pages app and then I re-export after my changes to a .docx to send it along. Seems to work fine. I mean most of what I do is not that complicated to cause any issues. Also, I get a lot of pdfs to read so I use Preview and pass along the docs as pdfs sometimes annotating. I use the Numbers spreadsheet application a lot, too. Everything seems to sync to that iCloud so I have my work files everywhere. I know, I am just a very basic user and many people are constrained by their work environment so they need all the other clouds and other native apps.

Meh I doubt at this point they gonna do anything until fall of next year.. It just keeps eating my RAM alongside Citrix Workspace sigh.

They even know there's no noise suppression on the M1 Macs and do nothing about it or give a release date for the fix..

Doesn't even show up in the Roadmap... https://www.microsoft.com/pt-pt/microsoft-365/roadmap?filters=Microsoft Teams,Mac,In development

At least One Drive will come out in Jan 2022.

Docker just updated and the desktop app no long requires Rosetta 2, fully Apple Silicon native.
Here's a link to their page:

Not perfect, but use teams as a web app inside of microsoft edge as an apple native app. Most functions "work" though there are some challenges. HUGE improvement in terms of cpu and battery utilization. Obviously not optimal, but hey... it is better.

I found this:

Although OneDrive has been working quite well for me so far on my M1 MBP, so I’m just going to hold off until the official release and then just reinstall it.

So, the only apps I still waiting for to get Apple Silicon Native is:
  1. Microsoft Teams
  2. Microsoft OneDrive
  3. VMware Horizon Client
I can't understand what's taking so long time to get it fixed.

These are small indie start-up companies, you have to cut them some slack! ?

I’m right with you on 1 and 2. I’d also like ExpressVPN to go native, but their help chat people said essentially,"don’t hold your breath." I wonder just how much battery I would save and transfers would improve with M1 optimized client.

SurfShark is native and works well. I haven’t had any problems with it on my M1 MBA.
