Just switched over to apple silicon onedrive, now the only intel processes that are constantly running are whatsapp and a few inconsequential other processes, hopefully whatsapp update their app soon
Mine are

- Citrix Workspace
- What's App
- FB Messenger
- Teams audio core drivers

Definitely sure, I have teams and onedrive standalone and I have the rest of the office suite from the app store, I don't have the microsoft autoupdater and both onedrive and teams seem to just update themselves

I have all of the MS Office suite installed via the App Store accept for OneDrive which was installed directly from them. If you need to run the Microsoft AutoUpdate app, you should be able to find it here:

/Library/Application Support/Microsoft/MAU2.0/Microsoft AutoUpdate.app

I made an Alias to it and then copied it to an Office folder I created for all of the Office apps.

Teams, though, DOES have the ability to update itself within the app.

You can also invoke autoupdate from within each Office app under >Help>Check for Updates

I definitely don't have that, I just checked both Library folders (my user one and the system one) and it's not there, idk lol

Then you may have the App Store versions.

Have you checked the Help menu in the apps to see if there is a Check for Updates menu item? try that to invoke the updater. You don't need to run it independantly.

I don't know what Microsoft is doing. The OneDrive release notes state that OneDrive version 22.077.0410.0007 is a universal app, yet that version in the App Store was Intel only. Microsoft just updated the App Store to version 22.089.0426.0003 and shocker, it's still Intel only. That's 3 months after the OneDrive Apple Silicon App went live for GA. 22.089.0426.0003 isn't even available as stand alone yet and there's no release notes for it.

OneDrive is the only constantly running App that's Intel only on my Mac.
Can you just install the stand alone version of OneDrive on top of the App Store version and vice-versa?

I'm tempted to uninstall OneDrive and reinstall it from the App Store to see if that makes it switch to AS.
You can get the silicone version from the link below:

I just installed over the intel version and it upgraded to silicone version with no issues

yes, the version directly from Microsoft was updated to AS a few weeks ago, but the version in the App Store still still stuck on Intel. That is the weird thing.

Yes, not sure why they are not in synch, but i never use the app store version. I always use the standalone version. It autoupdates with no issues, and usually before the app store.

It’s so confusing with all the variants and versions.

Only consistent point is the MAU.

If you use Office, OneDrive, Teams, MS Edge it’s the best way to go with MAU.
Because it Updates all of it.

With the macOS App Store you don’t get Edge and Teams. You don’t get OneDrive m1 silicon version,…

It's been so long since the standalone version has been released that Microsoft or Apple has to be doing it on purpose.

I think so... In my opinion it must be something with update issues/conflicts and messing all data?! Tried to change to standalone silicon version and had to do a lot of manual stuff to change it back to work.

That would be a big mess, if they would put it in 'go live' mode for MAS.

Within MAU (Microsoft Autoupdate) it is the same for the Mac. No Universal version for OneDrive.

You only get OneDrive Universal (m1 silicon version) when downloading the standalone version.

It may be a few more months before it's offered on macOS App Store then.
