You know you can just get info of an app and it shows:
Kind: Application (Intel) for Intel only
Kind: Application (Universal) for universal apps
It was more around to see if php, Apache and MySQL starts fine, not so much the app opens.

Google Chrome with Apple Silicon support just landed. Adding it to the list. Just thought I'd make a dedicated post for this since that's a big one.

Can anyone try MAMP for web dev and camtasia for screen recording?
I've tested Camtasia 2020 screen recording on MBA. It works, however for some reason the only thing that cannot be installed is system audio driver (just getting 'install failed' error). Recording is perfect though, and Camtasia itself is buttery smooth.

I'm interested to see how our web dev workflows will change. I've reached out to Sublime Text to see what their plans are. I also haven't heard much about Visual Studio Code.

What about bash? Homebrew? Node?! Ok panic commencing o_O

Thanks testing this :)

I had what appears to be a problem with "secure enclave" arise with my new M1 Macbook Air. I had logged into Apple TV successfully and played a single TV show. Then, a few hours later, my library was empty with a few lines of text centered in the screen. Upon further investigation the app seems to have reverted to it's old iTunes roots. "Only five computers are allowed activated" Then, the real shocker. "You will not be able to deactivate until March 2021" Will take to Apple Store today for explanation.

Wiki to document universal and native Apple silicon apps as they are released. Another known tracking site for app compatibility is RoaringApps, but at the time of writing this, the listings are very limited.

Regarding the performance of Intel based binaries you might want to take a look here. According to first benchmarks the performance impact of Rosetta is surprisingly low - as in Rosetta on the M1 runs almost twice as well as native ARM on Windows SQ2.

The "Mac with Apple chip" version of Chrome seems to be available again; oddly, choosing the "Mac with Apple chip" version seems to download a universal binary.

Any idea if existing owners get the upgrade, or is it a new purchase?

According to Pixelmator's Team e-mail:

And it’s available now as a free update from the Mac App Store.
BTW if someone is interested buying it (as me), and is a Pixelmator owner (the first one), search for "Pixelmator Pru - Upgrade bundle" in App Store. If you own Pixelmator in your account, Pixelmator Pro gets much cheaper.

Whats the normal price for Pro vs the upgrade price? Because the Pro cost is showing up as the same cost as the upgrade bundle in the App Store and I own the regular version.

So BlackMagic Design has a press release that DaVinci Resolve 17.1 Beta is built for Apple Silicon devices and says it's currently available but I see no link for 17.1 beta and what I was directed to download apparently was just 17.0 beta which is an Intel app.

Does anyone know where the proper download for the Universal app is?

AdBlock Pro and Crypto Pro were updated for M1.

huge request. I can't find anywhere if dragon anywhere (iOS app) will work on the new m1 macs. If anyone can figure that out (folks getting them) I would appreciate it. I doubt it, but i'm still hopeful.

Living Earth App has been updated to support Apple Silicon.
