iPhone Unlock any iPhone 3G, 3GS, 4, 4S on any Baseband with SAM new method

can't get the damn repo to load...been at it for over an hour.

Once I do I will be testing using an AT&T SIM in an iPhone 4S currently with Verizon.

I wonder exactly how this will work. Like if it DOES work, when I take the SIM out, will it just default back to Verizon? Who knows?

It would most likely function the same way a Verizon/sprint iPhone work when using an international SIM
 
WOW. So since with this unlock can you maintain two numbers? A verizon account and a ATT one? It would be nice if I could maintain voice on a verizon line and data on ATT.
 
Push and Restore

Is there any impact to push services? Will this be lost on Restore?

took me a few hours. Just keep retyping and re-adding the repo. Even after it started loading, many times it failed. Just keep at it.

I did a "restore from backup" to move the stuff from my AT&T iPhone 4 to my Verizon (now AT&T) iPhone 4S with no problem. Push (emails, text, etc.) all work fine so far.

Not going to restore my device just to see if the unlock stays :)
 
Just to clarify, will this unlock make it possible for my Iphone4(not4S) with AT&T to become usable on say Sprint's network?

Or is this only possible on the 4S? Thanks.

It will make ANY iPhone with a SIM slot able to work on any other SIM-based (GSM) network. Must also have iOS 5 or higher and be jailbroken.

I fully understand the prereqs for this process to work. I also understand you unlocked your Verizon Iphone 4S which is a CDMA network to work on AT&T's GSM network with an AT&T SIM.

My question is though, is going from AT&T to Verizon/Sprint and vice versa only possible on the 4S or can it be done on the 4 also?

I'm saying there is no vice versa. If you have a Verizon iPhone 4 there is no SIM slot. If you have an AT&T iPhone 4S you can't go to Sprint / Verizon because they are CDMA and you have no SIM to "activate".

You can only go TO a GSM network.
 
I have the old .deb files, but I can't get them to load as a whole SAM program. I guess we'll have to wait till someone makes a backup repo unless someone knows how to extra .debs from an active installation.
 
Can someone please tell me how I can check if it's unlocked (other than stuffinyg another sim in it).

That is the only way. This particular unlock only works with specific SIMs - if you lose that SIM, the phone is as good as locked. Once Apple patches their servers, you won't be able to activate any new foreign SIMs (unless you get the phone fully unlocked by your carrier)
 
Can someone please test iMessage and FaceTime Activation? that would be great....Thats one problem that we have with Gevey....let me know guys thanks

PS I am no way affiliated with Gevey, just trying to help those looking to explore the option of UNLOCKING while not permitted(due to contracts) or because of no available options.

Goodluck? it takes less than 5 minutes, and by the way Gevey uses power and degrades battery

FaceTime and iMessage works fine for me.

Verizon iPhone 4S now using AT&T SIM.
 
Those who are able to do this, can you restore it with CFW and still be able to keep the unlock?

You need some way of getting the activation ticket back to the iPhone. As far as I know, doing that requires a jailbreak. I would imagine that they could make a tinyumbrella-like tool for the activation tickets... there probably just hasn't been a real need to yet.

For instance, if the phone is locked to AT&T and I unlock it to Verizon, am I able to use any AT&T card and that particular Verizon card or just Verizon and not even AT&T, even though it's locked to it?
 
1) Thanks for confirming AT&T activating iMessage+Facetime so that seems to be a PLUS as compared to GEVEY because My Gevey Ultra S on my Rogers Canada Locked iPhone 4S does not let me activate iMessage and FaceTime instead I get error that the number it tries to because it isn't a 10 digit number(2639...shortcode for canadian carriers to activate iMessage and FaceTime) which I know isn't working because that short code is not used in USA.

2) Give it a few weeks I'm sure they will come up with a more automated process plus for us users on 5.1 can't really do much with this unlock until jailbreak is out:(

there are people on this thread that clearly cannot read... I'm not even american, english is not my native tongue and yet it amazes me how people really CANNOT READ seriously.

You can't unlock it to work with verizon or sprint because they are CDMA NETWORKS!!!!!!! you can unlock it from sprint or verizon to other GSM carriers like T-MOBILE AT&T, BELL, ROGERS, TELUS, TELCEL, CLARO, O2 VODAPHONE etc etc etc GSM GET IT? GSM

GEEEEEE SSSSSSSSSSSSS MMMMM carriers only!!!!
