Do you have any external or secondary drives on the computer? The only place I've seen that error is discussion in a ZFS forum.
I'm getting the same mdworker.shared crap spam using Mojava 10.14.x. It's absolutely terrible.

Apple wants me to send it in for repairs. They think it’s hardware but I think it’s clearly software.

I tried everything. You should put your entire main drive folder your SSD/hdd drive into the privacy section of spotlight and see if it stops the cpu overload. It stops it for me. You would need to put every hard drive in that folder including externals. Leave those drives in there. I found that taking them out will eventually lead to overheating.
I know people won’t tell you this is a good fix but it’s a temporary fix I personally found for the overheating

That's an extremely smug reply especially when you see here it's affecting a lot of people. It's not supposed to be happening and flooding my system.log with spam. It's constant extra work going on with the OS. I took out the mdworker shared file and now my system.log is quiet as a mouse. I can go an entire day and there's barely anything in there without that file.
Unfortunately, I'm finding that Spotlight doesn't seem to work properly now the file is gone. The search index results aren't complete. I've tried adding and then removing my disks in the Spotlight prefs so they reindex, but that doesn't seem to fix it.
Has anyone else whose removed the mdworker shared file finding their searches aren't complete anymore?
My reply was honestly asking a question on how it affected your system. Do you see any effects other than the log messsge spamming that message. I see that message too (if I bother to open the Console app and look for it) but it does not affect my system that I can tell other then knowing it is spamming the log.
Because this issue seems to be affecting many people, multiple OS versions (both major, minor and even fresh installs), I've created a separate topic about it here asking for people's thoughts and feed back on it who have experienced it, and if the suggestion removing the mdworker.shared file worked for them, and most importantly, if their spotlight and indexing is STILL working properly afterwards. Please comment if this has affected you there.

As I reported back in the main thread I made about this (https://forums.macrumors.com/thread...s-search-index-from-working-properly.2248163/), Spotlight no longer brought up results properly after removing/renaming mdworker-shared, so I had to restore it back. It works again, but the console spam wall is also returned in full effect.
I am curious for others who tried this fix to see if their Spotlight indexing accuracy is still working okay or they are having the same issues.
