Need the ability to set the darkness level. Dark is too dark at times.
Sure i've seen something on here from someone on one of the 13.2 betas that said contrast etc had been changed for maps in dark mode and made things a lot better for viewing.

Personally i've got it set so that dark mode comes on sunset to sunrise and on both the phone and CarPlay its fine viewing maps in dark mode when its dark outside!

I sent the report in, but I had some experiences that have led me to think that it IS, in fact, intentional. Even on beta 3, this is still happening, but the behavior seems exactly like pre-iOS 13. I was driving last night around sunset and while it was still light out...the map was light, even though I was using dark mode. As the sun went down and it got dark...the map faded to dark. Had the same experience this morning with the map going from dark to light as the sun came up and it got brighter outside. So I think the color scheme in Maps for turn-by-turn is being overridden by ambient light. Which, given how many people say the map is TOO dark (and I tend to agree)...I actually think this is a somewhat decent compromise.

Mines been working fine since the latest beta.

And I’m in the minority about dark mode...just doesn’t bug me and it works well. I think a lot of it has to do with the car/screen size as well, so yeah, an adjustment option would t hurt.

Experienced something new today. Driving my fiancé to a train station, Apple Maps told me at the very beginning that some walking would be required to reach my destination.

When I arrived, Siri told me to look for parking and then walk up a small road to the station! (Although Maps also tried to get me to drive onto a pedestrian-only walkway, so that’ll need to be corrected.)

When I’m working in Boston, the routing from my hotel to work used to require me to take a major highway and do a U turn to come back to my destination. Of course, I ignored that and took a minor road that ran parallel to the main road and then drove through private parking lots behind a couple of retailers to reach my destination.

Today, for the first time, Maps routed me that precise way, even though part of the route is over private property. Machine learning at work. What I would be fascinated to know is if it would route others that same way? Or does it route me that way because I evidently can do it, having done it many times before?

New Apple Maps now encompasses the entirety of the West.

The Midwest update isn't even officially out yet, but now the entirety of Nevada, Utah, Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, Oregon, and Washington have the new maps. I can confirm I have it on my phone as well.
Just took a look on my phone. I have this as well!

And just like that...I now see them finishing by the end of the year! I wasn’t so sure they would be able to do it at the pace they’ve been going! I take that back, now 😂

I have the both the West and Midwest updates on my phone. Unfortunately, I have neither on iPad or Mac, but my phone is most important since that's what I actually use for navigation, so I can't complain.

It appears to be partially on mine.

Seattle for instance has the new maps, but only part of it. It’s that way for ALL my iOS devices.

My Mac, which has the Midwest update has ALL of it though.

Mine is still partially updated on iOS devices. Parts of Seattle, WA and Portland, OR, and probably some other cities, but still not 100% updated like on my Mac.

HAVE SOME PICTURES!!!!

Check out the Space Needle! ;)

Oh well, hoping this means the Southeast is coming soon. 🤞

I live in Denver, and I seemed to have the new maps on my phone last night, but then today it looks like the old maps again. Is that possible, or am I just going nuts?

Sometime this morning, I lost both the Midwest AND West updates.

I haven't checked my Mac, which has both the Midwest and West updates, but...

I still have that weird thing on iOS where I have parts of the West updates (parts of Seattle, Portland, etc.) on my iPhone, but not the full update.

I noticed I now have 3D buildings for parts of Chicago as well, but nothing for Detroit.

I think you are just seeing the 3D building data that has been there for years. Apple always had more 3D data in larger cities.

What makes you think it is new Maps data??
