Directions are OK, will get you there. Many missing interchanges, roads, and circles that have been there for a couple of years.

Hopefully, that will be fixed instantaneously when the new data is turned on for everyone. I was blown away that they had captured very recent road changes in my area even though the Apple Car had not been here in about a year.

If you have not done so recently, check out Justin O'Bierne's page on the latest expansion. He now has a poll at the end of the post asking who is seeing the test release and who's not. As of when I answered...the results showed that 11% of respondents ARE seeing it.

The problem with that poll is that it is from people who actively check Maps and "care" about it. The number is probably higher....like 15-18%...they just don't know enough to know they have it.

Oh for sure! Plus, even in the group of people who "care"...we can't assume that they ALL even know about that page and the poll. I "care" and actively check Maps, and even I didn't know about him or his blog until waaaaaaaay after he started covering the updates beginning with Northern California. (I honestly don't think I would have ever come across that page if I didn't see it mentioned here. VERY glad I came across it though)! I think the first time I ever heard about it and looked it up...was somewhere around the Southwest/Texas/Gulf Coast updates time frame.

I've been keeping up on the page about the most recent expansion and the poll is definitely something new (I'd go as far as saying it's probably as recent as the last few days or so), so that will have an impact on numbers as well.

Also, to stray to a different topic. I'm noticing that the label for the state of Michigan is still over LAKE Michigan. I guess I'll get a feedback report sent in for that, especially because it wasn't like that when the Midwest update came out.

Yup. 2234 posts about an inferior product.

Did you come here to cause a ruckus?

Maybe....I apologize it is just always entertaining to see fanatics of a company/product responses to criticism. Anyway carry on I’m sure we will all get where we are going using whatever we choose.

I can criticize Apple Maps just as easily as I can criticize Google Maps, etc. Apple Maps is just as good in my area as Google Maps in most ways, and better than Waze.

Your mileage might be different, as I've spent some of my free time over the years contributing to correct errors and stuff for both services in the areas I'm familiar with to help others have the best information. To insinuate Apple Maps is inferior to Google Maps for everyone is not true.

Granted, Apple Maps back in 2012 or whenever it was they dropped Google was horrible, but they've come a long way since then.

However, as you said, we should all get where we are going using whatever we choose, and I hope you're very happy with Google Maps and Waze.

*gets notification that Apple Maps corrected a POI I submitted more than a week ago*

*checks -- POI was not updated*

*ten minutes later, receives another notification that the same POI was updated again*

*checks again -- no changes*

What the hell?

I’m quite familiar with all that has gone on. Annoying, perhaps. Disaster, no.

The rollout has been a “disaster”....yep...they’re giving us exactly what they said they would, only a couple of weeks behind schedule most likely, and with nothing but minor errors/annoyances that are no different than Google or Waze have every day as well.

The rollout part I definitely agree. I dislike these stupid partial rollouts/AB Testing things. Now the new setup itself has been good for me especially with the stoplights on the map now. I've had one POI entrance be off. I need to figure out how to submit a fix for it.

Plan a route to the POI and the click report an issue. Right now, that is the only way to correct routing entrance points until they allow us hopefully to add multiple entrance points/types on the standard POI screen.

Thanks. I submitted it. Would be nice if it would update locally for you until the server is updated.

Home sweet home...and the new maps didn't hit when I got to the airport to leave, so I feel a little better! At this point, my guess is for maybe next week. If it's not here by the end of the month, I'll be surprised.

I just sent feedback in regarding the label for the state of Michigan being incorrectly placed over the lake. I sent it as an "other", since the only thing you could do when reporting a map labeling issue is to correct spelling. There wasn't an option to edit the location of the label. Hopefully that is taken care of soon!
