Ordered on 18th of September. Considering Gilles said there are roughly 250 modules I’d assume there should hopefully be enough.
Thanks for the information, that helps explain why you are comfortable waiting a bit longer. There are people in this topic that were on the order books for the "3rd batch" of drives dating back to May or June order dates and are still waiting for a delivery, so I assume you are in line behind all of those orders if Polysoft is processing these in the order they were charged.
I still find it suspicious that Polysoft accepted new orders during September and October while nothing has shipped since a sub-batch of M1/M3 drives in early summer. The right thing to do is to take preorder reservations, and charge the full amount when orders are ready to ship. The fact that they still don't do this even with the very public problems they've had to this point, convinces me that they are using preorders as a de facto company loan. This could mean that if there are cost overruns, extended production delays (already happened!) or other issues with the company, those preorder "loans" start to look more like a stacked house of cards.
Even today, nothing is stopping Gilles from converting existing orders into reservations and returning money to customers until the kits are ready to ship... unless Polysoft can't function without the money. I bet they'd have way fewer angry emails to deal with if they took that simple step, too. It's really not a good thing for a business to have a large number of chargebacks filed against them and get noticed by the card companies, so the fact that Polysoft has apparently determined this outcome to be preferable to returning funds to customers and converting paid orders into preorders is deeply concerning.
It was this realization along with the lack of communication why I filed the chargeback for my order. For the kit I ordered, the AliExpress option is only about $100 more in total. That's not nothing, but it's way cheaper than risking being too late to get back hundreds more dollars if things continue to get worse. Ironically I did not invest in Polysoft's Kickstarter project, I wanted to see that they were successful before buying a kit, but that plan didn't work out like I expected.
I have no issues waiting. If anything, the competition is showing that all of this works and I have no issues waiting. I’m still waiting for a Kickstarter that should’ve shipped Dec’ 23 so knowing that suppliers or so sometimes jump ship to other customers so you have to pivot I’m not mad at all. I just wish there to be more honest communication. That’s all.

Well, i have issues waiting, because i got an email from them in September stating that a new batch was opened and i could order. So, i went ordering and i saw: Pre-order, will ship 5th of October. So, according to my knowledge, they are telling me that when i pay now (back then) it will be shipped on the 5th of October. That is the agreement i have settled with them back then. And at that point i don't care what the waitinglist is, because i may assume that when they say, shipping is on the 5th, then it will be the 5th.
I am really sorry for the people who are still waiting, but what Polysoft is doing right now isn't legal anymore. He is running a Ponzi scheme. Accepting new orders so he can finally finish old orders, but the new orders will become old orders and have to wait for the new orders in the future to get their product until justice will be served at some point. And then those new orders get nothing. I refuse to be one of those customers when i still have the possibility to get my money back.
So when you paid with a creditcard, mostly you have 6 months to get your money back to file a chargeback. I strongly recommend doing this when you still have the time and make a policereport, so he can be stopped with what he is doing right now. Because from what i can see is that he had some issues with production which he had to pay out of his own pocket, but in the mean time he is trying to get his money back with this ponzi scheme which is illegal in the european union. I surely understand his situation right now, because extra costs is always a pita when you didn't calculated it in your overall cost. But this is a soup of red flags which only can lead to one thing and that is that he must stop his services at some point. And if he ain't doing it, then i guess eventually the police will do it.

So i became into this awkward position to investigate this situation to try to understand what is going on. And from my point of view he is doing things which could lead to the end of Polysoft and his services.

Absolutely fair. This is not Kickstarter after all however given what Gilles said in here and the track record he has with his business I’d give him the benefit of the doubt that he’s acting maliciously.
Also not sure what you try to say with the police report. I don’t think he’s running a scam or has the intent to deceive. Legitimately, the entire technology sector is **** at the moment and highly unpredictable. Accusing him of a Ponzi scheme when he explained what was going wrong and how he intends to fix it is borderline nuts.
If you’re unhappy about the delay, file a chargeback and let it be. Easy as that.
Look mate, he is accepting new orders with statements which aren't true. He is sending email to people who placed them selves on the waiting list with the assumption that everything is fine and they can order so they will receive it on the date his webpage says. In the mean time everything is not fine and people are still waiting from former batches. And when those people are slowly dropping their acknowledgments that their order finally has been shipped and arrived, then the only conclusion i can make out of it is that they got their order finally, because someone after them paid for it. Thats a ponzi scheme, nothing more, nothing less. And at the end there will be customers who gets nothing.

Many people defend Polysoft because they’re still getting their orders, but from my experience, it feels like a scam.
I placed my order for business purposes on September 19, and the website clearly stated that it would be delivered by October 5.
Earlier in September, Polysoft claimed the items were in stock, yet nothing was ever delivered. Now their latest update says a "new batch" will be available for orders on November 1 even if old ones are not delivered yet.
Something really doesn’t add up here it feels sketchy and untrustworthy.
The reason people are defending him is because they are afraid they won't get their order and they don't have the ability to file a chargeback. They know when new orders comes in that there will be some cashflow to fulfill their orders. And i totally understand their position at that point, but the way how everything goes right now is not sustainable. And now China steps into the market while he is keeping the price low while the price of these modules went up, you have to agree with me that this is a sinking ship.
I had asked Gilles once here why he does not accept PayPal and I guess the answer to that is because he fails to honor delivery dates and he will be blacklisted by PayPal for all the failed orders. Go Figure.
I ordered mine on September 18 as well — no feedback since, but I still keep faith.
When you choose to order a craft-made product from a small team, delays are unfortunately part of the deal. I do believe some of the communication could be clearer, and the estimated dates should reflect reality better — that would avoid a lot of frustration.
That said, I don’t think it’s a scam or a Ponzi scheme. It just looks like a very small operation overwhelmed by demand, production complexity, and probably underestimating logistics. Still hoping they deliver — and that they learn to be more transparent in the process.
I purchased a Studio M4 Max with 512GB because I simply never use the disk space. I’m a developer and have a NAS with 120TB for additional storage and UniFi 10Gb network, at my place.
You mentioned you are at 50% on 2TB, I’m running Tahoe 26 and I use less than 100GB out of the available 512GB? You probably store all your videos photos on your Mac? I personally use my NAS extensively for my Mac and iPhone storage. I have everything available on my iPhone with UniFi VPN and sync photos or videos with Immich, which supports automatic uploading of photos and videos from mobile device to NAS.
Out of curiosity, can a Mac Studio M4 Max with 512GB be upgraded to 1TB? I know Macs are sensitive to initial configurations.

If you're mostly dealing with cold storage or static media files (like photos or archives), then yes — a well-configured NAS is more than enough, especially with a solid 10GbE network like yours.
But once you start pushing things further — working with video (4K editing, proxies, large libraries) or music production (samples, virtual instruments, big DAW projects) — the needs are totally different. We're talking about loading several GBs on the fly, sometimes just to open a single project.
In those cases, even a good NAS setup can feel too slow or unresponsive. That’s when you need at least Thunderbolt 3/4 at 40Gbps to keep your workflow smooth. For real-time performance, NAS just isn’t the right tool anymore.
If it were for personal use, I would probably wait, but this is for business I need it for work. The rest of the team in the office is also waiting for feedback on the upgrade.
The big slap in the face is, we order on 19th september, somewhere around 5th October where i should get my units we get email that they are in stock now. Ive they are in stock why you dont send them but open a new possibiltiy to order?
1st november he want to open a new batch for sale, but the old one is not even delivered.
There has been zero communication. I tried every possible way to contact him email, website, and phone. I even gave him a two-week deadline to reply.
In Europe, he could actually get into serious trouble for this. I ended up filing a fraud report with my bank this morning and am now waiting for the chargeback.

Not that reddit is the bastion of truth and integrity, but this thread seems similar regarding no contact with polysoft, and long delays, with others saying they got their upgrade kit sprinkled within the thread
The problem is that Polysoft has advertised this thread, so they ought to be more responsive.
Nope... No documents, no videos, and the only photos are the ones in the photo app. I, too, have a NAS (three as a matter of fact), which stores ALL my files. I am a photographer, and my photo collection is well over 500K these days, mostly RAW files from a 50-megapixel camera.
My Daisydisk scan looks like this:
The Users space is obviously the largest, and contains a 225GB Parallels file, 123GBs in my Photos Library, 80GBs in Lightroom files (they can't be stored off Mac), and a whooping 145GB in the Library...
Everyóne has different use cases, and mine is not that unique.
For me it’s audio production. All those sample libraries take enormously much space. Unfortunately not anything you can load from a NAS and expect performance although I have one with 6 x 16TB disks in RAID 6 for backups and some services.
Gotta be honest though, if he reopens orders before the others are sent I’ll probably consider chargeback as well. Not getting any updates and then reopening orders just doesn’t sit right.

Well it looks you may get to test that statement imminently, because orders on several SKUs were opened again, likely sometime within the last 24 hours. with several items showing the "in stock" claim. There's no way to know if that's true or not considering the phantom "in stock" orders in September and October. I can't find a way to subscribe to stock updates for any out of stock ones since that option seems to be unavailable now, but you can add the items marked "out of stock" or "backorder" to cart, meaning you will be charged in full if you go through with the order.
Did anyone get a shipping notification yet?
