UPS Sucks! #ShipGate

That was me the entire morning! I sat on a chair near the window, kept standing up to look outside every couple of minutes because a car drove by, or my dog barked, or both.
My iPhone arrived at half past noon, by the way; UPS, in Germany.
Ha. UPS just dropped off my package. The driver didn't ring the doorbell, knocked twice, and started walking away. I opened the door, asked him if he rang the doorbell and he said yes. I watched him arrive, and he didn't even try.
Too much trouble I guess, and had I not been watching, I would have missed the delivery.
Think I will resort to in store pickups in the future, and show up on the second or third day after launch. My recently inshore pick up iPhone 6s Plus had my name on it, so I don't see the downside in being a little tardy.

Be glad! Still twisting my neck off every time a car drives by. I have somewhere that I needed to be at least an hour and a half ago but UPS customer service insists that it's on a truck for delivery today.

I know the feeling of watching for UPS trucks lolI had mine held at the Mesa/Gilbert CC Hub. It always works great. I picked it up there no issues.

UPS MyChoice has delivery by ending of day on the calendar but tracking detail says "Information Unavailable". Apple email even says delivery today. It's 7:45pm and I haven't seen UPS all day. When I call, they tell me I might see it next week because they don't deliver on Saturday. Planning to initiate a missing package process with Apple tomorrow if I don't hear or see anything else.
Mine was scheduled to be delivered today and then the rescheduled for 9/19, no explanation given. WTF
They can't even find my package now. I am BEYOND PISSED OFF. **** UPS. It stopped showing movement, so I called them and then they said we don't know!!! What the ****?
Although I got my phone on time, the likelyhood of something going wrong is very high on every iPhone launch. I'll probably never pre order again. Not worth the hassle.
In the same boat. Package allegedly got to the hub too late and will be ready for pickup Monday. Tracking still says its in KY and delivery date is "unavailable" but I talked to UPS and they told me its at my local hub but not officially sorted or scanned yet. So I'll be seeing it Monday, I guess. Or Saturday if they are feeling nice.
I know mistakes happen but UPS gave me the same answer. "We don't know where it is?" Their primary purpose as a company is package delivery. Why are they so bad at that?
And before someone says, "It's because of the HUGE volume of shipments", this isn't their first time delivering iPhones.
I'm in the same situation as you are. I should have left my order alone because they said they'll deliver it tomorrow, but on their website, they said it would be available for pickup TONIGHT if I requested hold for pickup. So I did that, and now they're saying it's still in KY and I won't be able to pick it up until Monday night. WTH? I'm hoping that they'll somehow still be able to have it available for pickup tonight but not holding my breath

I hate UPS.. was never updated to "out for delivery" since this morning and I called several times throughout the day and each rep ensured it was on time and of course after 7pm, last rep finally said it was never scanned out for delivery so it won't be until Monday.
I got told the exact same thing. I have no clue what hard happening to mine now. Called this morning to have it held at hub and was told I could pick it up first thing tomorrow. Called back at 3:45 PT because last scan still stays KY and looks like no movement, so was worried I wouldn't be able to pick it up tomorrow. UPS lady says the hub the other rep held it at isn't even open tomorrow! She changed it back to delivery for tomorrow, supposedly sent a message to the hub also, but who knows what's going to happen now.
Wow at least you were able to change it back! I've been on the phone a few times with UPS and chatting with Apple and they're just blaming me for changing the delivery and saying it can't be changed at all and that I'll have to wait until Monday now. This is so frustrating.
Edit: I found a phone number to my local UPS hub. I explained the situation and asked if they had my package there by any chance so that I could go pick it up right now. The lady on the phone was super nice and she said that the packages had not arrived at the hub yet so no use going tonight. And because I changed to hold for pickup, it would be Monday before I could come pick it up. BUT she said she'll leave a note for the person coming in tomorrow to put my package in the truck for delivery, though she said it might not work. And she said she'll try to cancel my request to change delivery. UGH I WISH I HADN'T CHANGED THE DELIVERY OPTION. If UPS hadn't said I could pick it up today I would never have changed it

Oh my God. So after being assured not once, but TWICE, by two different customer service reps, that my phone would be delivered today and that I should stay up and wait for it no matter how ludicrous the hour, I just rechecked my tracking and found out that I've been bumped to Monday. FURIOUS.
I'm in the same boat as you. Scheduled delivery for today, in fact, even now at 9:38 pm PST both Apple and UPS tracking shows that my package is still due to arrive today... what a joke. Good news is that I spoke with the apple online store support personnel, the nice lady filed a claim with UPS, requested Saturday delivery and let me know that If I don't get it by Monday, Apple will overnight express me a replacement. Don't fret. I was pissed to, but its just a phone... 3 days probably won't kill us.
Oh YEAH! Almost forgot, she also said if I can find one in stores this weekend to just buy it and cancel this order for a full refund. She said they are not as back ordered in stores as some stories are reporting and that retailers get shipments daily. I am going to try my apple store in the AM. Good luck.
I feel your pain, I was assured 3 times for the 5 phones I ordered. So pissed. This also throws off my activation of new iphones every 2 years on release day.
I just checked mine after reading yours and I see that I have been bumped to Monday as well... absolutely no reason as it has been sitting in Kentucky for 24 hours... I live in fkn California... Oh well.
