Quick: Call the branch office. The truck may still be in the neighbourhood. If not, you can verify the delivery address, and tell them that the 1st attempt was misdirected.

That's what I ended up doing. Thanks for the advice! I got it sorted out really quickly, thankfully. They came about 45 minutes after the first 'attempted delivery'.

What an ordeal though! Finally got this thing, it's up and running, no dead pixels, no dust trapped under the screen, no flickering. I'm relieved and extremely happy!

Just wanted to let you guys know that my iMac got here... at 6h30 pm! I was so mad I had to wait the entire day but like many of you said before me... as soon as I opened the box, all of my anger disappeared instantly! Boy what a beautiful machine!

If it wasn't for bad luck I'd have no luck at all. My iMac is running absolutely GREAT - I love it and it was easily worth the wait. However, I installed BlackBerry Desktop Manager and attempted to update my BlackBerry... and the damn thing is a brick now. Gotta head to Rogers tomorrow morning and get a loner phone and get this one fixed. So irritating.

Hi,

I've been keeping track of the forums and surprised at Apple using UPS as a courier service for the i7 iMacs??? It's been irritating at the least to see my computer sitting at China for several days then taking the grand tour of Asia before flying to Alaska. Now, it's taking a breather at Alaska for several hours?

Ahhhhhhhh! I sure hope to have it on Friday like the other poster said, mine was moved from the 18th, to the 17th and then ??? I don't have a delivery date on the tracking page.

I think the UPS tracking system is one big random number generator -- but if my current status is correct I'm not complaining. My original delivery date was the 19th, but it sat in China for a while, so it was then pushed to the 21st. I even called UPS again yesterday, and they confirmed that it would not be delivered until Friday. But now the status is staying that it will be delivered TODAY! I don't understand why their system yesterday didn't know that it would be 2 days earlier than expected. In any case, now that it's made it from China to suburban Toronto, I hope that UPS doesn't screw up the last few miles of its journey when they deliver it to me downtown.

I called UPS this morning, and was told that since the original delivery date was Friday, they will keep it on the truck until Friday, and that I can't open a trace until after that date. I nearly lost it on her. Not so much for the claim that they hold it on the truck (which made no sense, so I knew she had no idea what she was talking about), but because she wouldn't further the investigation. I was going to just call back and speak to another CSR, but I had to run.

Thankfully someone from the local station (who seem a bit more on the ball) left me a message, and said they located the package, and it will be delivered to me this afternoon. Still no sign of it, but fingers crossed that I'm not being lied to again.

APPLE - PLEASE SWITCH BACK TO FED EX!!!!

Wanted to register to post that something is seriously wrong with the way UPS does these shipments. I ordered Nov 5th, so not as early as everyone but it was shipped on the 16th. It sat in Shanghai for 3 days before even moving...and then it goes all the way to mount hope? and then back to shanghai? and now back to mount hope...I'm all the way in Vancouver!

am I missing something? Now there's a delivery exception.

I do agree that something is wrong with UPS and their shipments... mine's been shipped the 14th and it's still in Shanghai... went on the plane and off the plane a few times (got 'the airline off-loaded packages' twice)... and it's supposed to arrive tomorrow... yeah right. lol.

Anyways, when they say 'Package data processed'... the package itself isn't in Mount Hope. At least not yet. They're processing the data. They do this so that once it actually gets in Canada, it's quicker to process... hence the back and forth in locations .

Now if they can actually have my iMac leave Shanghai, I'll be happy. I'm going to have to call them tomorrow, if I don't see any updates when I wake up...
