UPS81 (Canadian shipment) - who else is on this flight?

I have the same tracking information, I'm out in the Vancouver area. Guess Apple's initial estimates of Delivery by Nov 18 was correct
. I also paid for EXPRESS, going to try and get my money back today too.Congrats to all those who've received the iMac! Hopefully me and hibbleton will see ours tomorrow if not wednesday
Thanks for the info Poonaka. Time to make a call to UPS to see what's going on.It was sent Expidited and arrived around 9:15am this morning. Even though UPS sucks, it's worth the wait.
Just got off the phone with Trina at UPS. Of COURSE they can't give me any answers on why my shipment hasn't left Shanghai because "I'm not in Shanghai so how could I know what's going on there?" Whatever.
The only little nugget I could take from the call is that my shipment is now re-scheduled to arrive on Friday Nov 20. Originally it was the 18th, then moved to the 17th, and now pushed out to the 20th. Why? I'll tell you why!
I also learned that the clock doesn't start running on their "3-5 business day" delivery time until the actual day of departure and NOT when it was originally picked up by UPS. So, it safe to say that the package can sit on their dock, tarmac, warehouse floor, and maybe even take it out for a nice meal and it won't be sent out until they decide to send it. Only then does the clock starts running from that point. And, lets be honest, I'm pretty sure that they'll be operating on the 5-day timeline and not the 3-day.
I told Trina that I will be writing to Apple about this experience encouraging them to change courier service providers for Canada. Clearly UPS is not able to efficiently satisfy their customers. I'd encourage the rest of you who have had issues with UPS shipments to do the same.

Same here. UPS told me tomorrow the 17th by 10:30AM but I don't really believe them any more. Its still listed as in Mt. Hope. I'm in Vancouver as well. Also paid for Express.

UPS is AWFUL. At least to Western Canada. They seem to have stuff figured out in the east... mostly.
We should all call Apple to complain. The other three orders I've made from the online Apple Store were all shipped with FedEx and they were all delivered on time. It wouldn't bother me if shipping was an extra $10 or $20 so long as I get my item in a reasonable amount of time.

My iMAC Arrived!
I was excited but then a bit disappointed when I saw the little dead pixel almost in the middle of the screen! Argh, just my luck.
Don't know what to do now.
Hope the rest of you have better luck. I hate dealing with return policies and shipping etc etc.

I called at 12h30, told them the package was never delivered. She said she was really sorry and that she would leave a message to the dispatch to call me back before 13h30 to tell me why the package wasn't delivered.
Well guess what? 13h30 came and no phone call so I called back. Another woman told me the item is still in Hamilton and that there is no way it's going to be here before tomorrow. I immediatly asked to speak to a supervisor. She said she was sorry and it's not UPS's fault but the custom's. She also said it MIGHT get here tomorrow but she's not sure. I asked her: why pay for express shipping and why do I get a different version each time I called. She again told me she was sorry and asked if I had any other questions...

Just got my Apple Remote, of course it came with FedEx. My iMac on the other hand was sent with UPS.
I just spoke to UPS. Seems the latest information has not been updated online from being in Mt. Hope to Hamilton. He assured me that I would be getting it tomorrow, its supposed to be before 10:30AM. Its now past 2:00PM back east and they haven't shipped it to BC yet, and then they have to still load in on the trucks?

Btw, I talked to UPS and they said we can expect our Macs on Friday Nov 20 now.

Looks like it was sitting in one place for 5 days and the guy just kept scanning it each day to look like it was moving. LOL!
Sort of. See, the clock doesn't start running on their "3-5 business day" delivery BS until it reaches DEPARTURE SCAN status. So, they can just reset the clock by scanning it again.. and again... and again.
Looks like my iMac is bouncing around all over Asia!

Glad to finally see some action.
I called UPS again and asked how the process would work from Hamilton because I need to know when to be home to accept delivery. I was told that my iMac will be loaded into a plane this afternoon or this evening and will arrive at the UPS sorting facility in Edmonton early enough to still be put on a truck for delivery tomorrow morning.
I'm skeptical because I've received a lot of misinformation so far but I guess we'll see. If I get a 'departure scan' from Hamilton tonight, I'll be expecting my computer tomorrow morning. Otherwise, it's going to be Wednesday. *sigh* I just want my computer!
did you receive a depature scan from Mount Hope yet? my last scan was an import scan from there, seems like UPS queues up their scans and only show the latest in the morning...
Not yet - but, like I said, I think if that happens before tomorrow morning, us western Canadians will see our iMacs before noon.
My iMac went from Louisville to Buffalo, then Mount Hope. After that, it went east to Fredericton, at which time UPS discovered that SOMEONE ELSE'S BROKER had cleared it. It's been in Exception status ever since.
Too bad UPS doesn't have a hub anywhere in western Canada, since my iMac has probably flown over its final destination of Calgary several times already, and at the moment, when it moves at all, it is moving in the wrong direction.
To add insult to injury, my iMac will probably still pass through Winnipeg and Vancouver before its arrival in Calgary.
