Just got my tracking notice from Apple about 20 minutes ago. Ordered a 13" 512gb Space Black. Still says it's arriving tomorrow.

Same exact situation as you.

One being shipped via UPS Next Day Air saver from Carisle, PA arriving tomorrow. Another one from Jeffersonville, IN via UPS Ground.

The one from PA is connected to the iPad Pro on Apple's website and the better service via UPS so must be the iPad.
So I just got a notice of the pro pencil being shipped but not the iPad yet? Maybe that’s why 2 tracking #’s?

For the first time, I am picking up from my local store. Will it show that it has shipped or will I simply get a notification that it is ready (during the window I picked tomorrow morning)?

You will at least get an email notification that your order is ready. I forget if there is a notification in the store app.

Notification usually isn't necessary though if you are showing up at the time you agreed upon.

Just stand in line to get checked in, and you should be good to go.

After having the 12.9-inch iPad Pro for two different generations, I am switching to the 11-inch model. I would stop using the 12.9 for weeks at a time because it was easier to do iOS-related items on my phone or I needed the power and functionality of my 14-inch MBP.

My wife has the 11-inch iPad Pro, and I love how it feels in either landscape or portrait mode. This makes it especially good for travel, where it can easily fit in my briefcase and is quick to use when I would rather keep my phone in my pocket. The 12.9 always felt too big and unwieldy. Given its size, taking it out on a plane to watch a movie was always annoying, especially with the limited space and tray table.

Appreciate it. Takes a little of the fun away, but I work very close to an Apple store and I am not sure if my better half will be home.

I am going in the opposite direction (from a 2018 11" pro model) because I use it extensively for notetaking (among other things), and I found the smaller iPad to be too small (especially for my handwriting).

You should get a notification sometime today that it’s ready for pickup tomorrow. Usually that happens between mid afternoon to early evening.

Thanks - after all of these years and numerous Apple products, I think this is the first in-store (launch day) pickup for me.

I can't spend the day waiting for Fed Ex to drop by, so I always do in store pick up. Also because of my hours mid week isn't viable for me. So I schedule my pickup on Friday, where I can avoid most of the Apple crowd. I just have to be extra patient while others go on about their new Apple devices.

Anyone else order from Best Buy? I ordered a 13" 1TB cellular model (Space Black) and a magic keyboard through Best Buy. The magic keyboard shipped this morning and looks like it will be delivered tomorrow. The iPad says "Packaging your item / We'll ship it tomorrow." But I'm hoping there's still a chance that it will actually ship out today for overnight delivery.

Edit: Right after I posted this, I received an email from Best Buy that my iPad is "ready to be shipped" with a UPS tracking number! :)

My pencil got picked up, iPad and keyboard still waiting...

The sad thing is, waiting anxiously for this stuff, yet I won't use it any differently than my previous M2.
