My Process went exactly like yours except ordered the Blue and did my Get Ready to preorder on Tuesday. It was actually quite easy, I am trading in my 11 PM. My previous phone to that was an 8 Plus that I did the process through Verizon and the previous 6 was through Verizon. All I can say is never again. Having the Apple Card has been so much easier and actually the trade in process with Apple has been easy as well having done it with the last phone and an ipad last year. I trade every two years as well but even if I did decide to go to the 14 next year I will have this paid off on the card. I found with my ipad last year with the Apple Card you can go in and pay extra payments on the zero% plans. I like to have things paid off so will pay the phone off quickly. I could not do that with Verizon.
Great post. Similar experiences. I actually chatted with Apple yesterday to be sure that if I did trade my 12PM I could pick it up at the store AND drop my trade with them.. the only way you can do that apparently is on the installment plan. I asked if I could pay it off well before the iPhone 14 comes out and she said yes; no problem. Then I looked at what they offer on the 11Max (my prior phone) and it's considerably lower than the 12Max; so looking forward this makes perfect sense,

I will not spend the entire day refreshing my order on the Apple Store app to see if my status changed from "Order placed" to "Processing". Ahahaha I remember that day because Apple didn't really have a reservation system and the line was really long. I think I stayed in line for like 4 hours before I got in. Insane.
My first iPhone was the iPhone 4. I got to the mall at 4am, line was already like 100 people long. Then another 100-200 people arrived. All of a sudden they said we had to move to a different location. Everyone ran to beat everyone else. I refused to run, it was so disgusting. So I ended up near the end of the line. I was so stressed because I had a noon meeting at work. I made it by the skin of my teeth. It was both horrible and exciting but I'll never do that again.

As in 2020 I preordered. This is supposed to save all your purchase details to make it easier when you actually purchase.

As in 2020, I didn’t see the saved preorder when the Apple Store finally materialized on my iPhone. I instead went to “search” and started with “recently viewed.” This meant that I had to choose some details anew.

Did anyone else not see the link to their saved pre-order? I am always in a hurry to get the order finished so I can get my iPhone with the first phones shipped.

What happened this morning…

A quick recap of this morning at 04:59AM PST. All loaded, and gunning for the Apple App Store to place our orders in for iPhone 13 as quickly as possible 🥶

Gold Pro Max is now into Oct
Looks like those buyers second choice color is back ordered 😂
No problem! I demanded to speak to a manager at Apple my second time and she was super nice and helpful. She was very familiar with the whole IUP. She even spoke to Citizens One for me and we had a group call to clear things up. I'm feeling better that other people also ran into this "issue". One last thing, Citizens said that by end of October or early November, I should be getting the credit to my payment method (my cc). So be on the look out!
Think of the positive. You're not dealing with Samsung.

When I finally got in after closing and opening the app for what seemed an eternity (2 minutes) the App Store opened to my saved order which immediately disappeared. I then went to the For You section and my pre qualify link was there and that took me to my saved info. Regardless I still had to enter fresh credit card info before I could place the order. Very nerve racking but always a rush to preorder every year!

That was prob 16gb phones. The system uses ~10gb. I’ll be fine w 118gb. And to say base models are for display/testing?? What?
Yeah - we don't end up buying maxed out phone for test devices. You end up getting the cheapest for the platform because you're not going to be loading it with a bunch of data (unless you're working on an app that needs the space, that is). I'm simply saying that it's not unheard of that base models don't have as many features as the next step up. But, if you found my statements offensive, well I'm sorry it was interpreted that way. It wasn't an attack on anyone, per say.

What's the consensus this year: PICK UP IN STORE OR Get it Shipped? I have the option to order through my carrier via online or Apple directly. Which is faster?

Hey everyone,

Is it normal for a pickup order to still have the "Order placed" status while my order with shipping (and a later date) is already "Processing"?
My pickup order is also still in the "Order Placed" status. Paid with Apple Card via Apple Pay. I don't see a pending charge on my Apple Card.

If you had the option to choose in-store pick up at your local Apple store and was able to choose 8 am slot, that would have been the fastest way. :). I ended up just ordering for delivery instead. When I got on right when it open, the available for in-store pick up was not available for Sierra Blue Sim-Free 1 TB Pro Max.

I will have mine on delivery to a ups store near me and it usually drops off at 930 am.. if I have sent to my house its 5 pm or later or sometimes not till Monday..closest Apple Store to me is almost 2 hours away and I’m not doing that..
