Spigen or ESR both have their screen protectors available on Amazon. I ordered both this time. I love the Spigen screen protectors and have used the ones below for the past 2 years.

I have been using ESR for several of our iPhones and they have been solid.

I remember you got some flack last year. I was like they better leave my girl alone! Really appreciated those super sleuth skills… that’s how you do it! 😉 Made my first Apple order year all the more fun!

YOU ROCK!!! APPRECIATE YOU.

I’m sure I’ll get some flack this year too. That’s not going to go away 😂

It was a learning experience and we all have to start from somewhere. Right?

Remember that too! Haters gonna hate. I'm appreciative of people like you and TheYay (I'm just gonna make that your nickname now) every year who do lots of work to find all the info but that also make the excitement of new arrivals so much fun. I legit am so excited for the thread about all our little babies (phones) getting on the planes, fastening their seatbelts, and flying home! It's legit a hoot!!!

Someone please remind me how do you search for ups reference tracking with your order number. Was it without the last 2 digits or the last 4?

3GS was my first iPhone after being a BlackBerry addict for a few years. Bought one and switched over to try it and see what all the hype was about. I never considered anything else since. Once in awhile I power the old thing up just to reminisce!

I haven't used the leather Apple cases for a number of years; I've been using the silicone ones, as they seem to be more "grippy". Have the leather cases gotten less slippery over the years? I'm eyeing that Wisteria one... 😍
First time owning of the leather case for 12PM last year and I really loved it! At first, it was slippery but not too much where I would drop my phone. but I can say that it is not slippery now as I’ve used it for about 10months. I’m getting the leather case again for 13PM but this time in red cherry color to match my apple watch band. Good luck!

Ok, so here is my iPhone ordering/tracking process (obsession) for the week:

Pre-Preorder Day:
This year Apple allowed us to set up our preorder, conform our details, and save our preferred phones in advance. In the years past we have been able to “heart” our selections to make things faster on preorder day. This year, in my opinion, was one step better and got all of the approval junk out of the way. For me, everything went extremely smooth and I had my confirmation email at 8:01am EST.

Preorder day:
I always have three ordering options up and running to order:

iPhone Apple Store App

iPad Apple Store App

Computer Apple Website.

At 5 minutes to the scheduled start of preordering. I start refreshing the web browser/closing and reopening the iOS apps in a cycle (One year long ago, they actually started a few minutes early) until one of them hits and goes through. This year was quick, and my iPad app was the winner. Like I mentioned, I was on and confirmed by 8:01am.

Post Preorder Day:

Next step in this journey is to getting past the Processing to Preparing to Ship stage. This happened for me last night and now starts the constant checking of the UPS site to see if I can find my tracking number by using the reference number method (typically your phone number or the Apple order number). Apple will not send out the tracking number and shipped notifications usually until the phones are already in the US and that cuts out the fun of watching them go from China to Alaska to Kentucky. So far, I had no luck yet on tracking number showing up, but I am guess it will happen soon as some of us have had their numbers show up.

Tracking:
Once I have the tracking number, I then watch my iPhones movements to determine which flights it will be on. I use the FlightAware and Flight Tracker apps to determine what UPS flights have left the location and departure given by the tracking information to follow my phone to the US and then ultimately to my “home.”

iPhone Day (Delivery Day!)

I, like many, don’t like to wait until the UPS truck comes to deliver to my house…which is usually the end of the day. So, I have it held for free at my UPS CC (Customer Center) for pick up. To do this you need a UPS My Choice account. This should not be confused with a having it picked up at a UPS Store…this will delay your delivery! The UPS CC is usually the distribution center for your area and it will go there first regardless and then will get put on trucks to be delivered to wherever to say. So, if you select a UPS Store it will spend delivery day being delivered to the UPS Store and will not be ready for you to pick up until the next day or two…so caution, I learned that lesson on Apple Watch Series 1 Day. Ug…

All through the process:

Checking on this forum and seeing where everyone else is at. It is good times and always enjoy the likeminded obsessed iPhone freaks we are.

I had all three going 15 minutes before, but refreshing and such still did not get me in. (Central Illinois) til 5 past hour. iPhone “won” this time over iPad, ipad did not work until after I did the order on phone but it had the GM iOS 15 maybe that was issue???? But nevertheless as is usual for my location in central Illinois 5 past is the earliest I seem to be able to access, I have read something about how Apple allocates access via servers all over US and world. Seems Illinois is more behind maybe it is the access I have through Comcrap (er comcast) perhaps I should try outside on phone with 5G which is not terrible but I only get 1-2 bars as cell is not close to neighborhood? Reason for writing is the more often than not that 5 minutes plus makes the difference to getting opening day for me. This time as I pressed complete order it said 9/24 and though I had the preapproval setup 3 days before and updated/entered credit card number and security code the frigging store wanted me to do that again as it always does and that added another minute almost and order went quickly but also said I was now getting new phone 10/6-10/11 really in a minute? Thinking the first number was not valid and my model (1TB graphite 13 ProMax) was already oversold for opening.

2 weeks to 3 weeks longer is truly a first world problem I know. But getting phone on Friday is much better now it could come on Wednesday (6th) and I have errands and pickup of grandson that day. Or it could be Monday (11t) same issue. At this point I hope it comes on the Thursday or Friday of that date range. Must better for my crazy schedule as a retired person (grandfather who picks up grandson from school on M-W, and other M-W tasks. Besides missing out on the fun of all of us obsessing and tracking our new toys LOL. My wife who does some substitute TA work will now have to not take a job those days if I have to be gone (she hates my waiting for electronic packages and also fossil trilobites which I collect — over 800 now LOL). I assume UPS will let her sign if they need signature. Other worry is like last year they came a week sooner than the date spread. And of course I am at a rock and fossil show during that time also. Another reason for wanting opening day besides the fun LOL.
