I hope this preorder goes better than last year. Logged on the Apple Store app right on time and it froze up on Apple Pay during checkout. Then when I relaunched the app, delivery dates were always pushed out a week.

hello all. Question. I did apple installment plan for iPhone 12PM and obviously i still owe few months. Am I able to trade in while still financed for iPhone 13PM?

Are you talking about iup or on your Apple Card? On the Apple Card you can trade anytime, you just have to still make those payments.

Looking forward to ordering the new phone this week. I’ll be out of town next Friday, so this will be the first phone I haven’t gotten launch day since the iPhone 4S.

I’m part of the upgrade program through apple.

last year there was several months delay for the new iPhone, it didn’t come out until November. So people on the upgrade program had to pay an extra two months as we waited for the new phone.

This year the new phone is on time, but technically only 10 months have gone by, not the one year required by the upgrade program to be eligible to upgrade to a new device.

I got an email from apple though saying I’m eligible to upgrade now as part of the program.

Did apple fix the timing problem caused by their delays last year? Or at some point during this ordering process is it going to make me pay an extra fee to cover the extra two months? I assume the latter, even though it said I was eligible. And if so it seems unfair because last year we all paid an extra two months because of the delay, which means in total they’ll have billed us for an extra 4 months or $400 all because of their own delays.

I've been on the IUP for several years now and always pre-order/get the new one on launch day. Yes, last year I called Citizens to see if we'd have to pay the extra months as the new phone arrived right as another payment on the 11 was happening and was told we had to "pay more". HOWEVER...this year, I noticed when I went through the prep process yesterday, it clearly stated that I was eligible for upgrade with one more $49.91 payment (the monthly amount for my model). So...they must have received so many calls last year, they made a point to clarify it up front during the pre-order prep process

No you don’t have to! … you can go ahead and put in your pre order info, they will verify your card and tell you when your new payments will be.. and you just keep making the old ones as before. The trade in credit goes against the new purchase total.

If i were you i would get the non-max iphone 13 pro in gold. when it comes to colors/shades there are some you can't always count on (look at how blues and reds have changed over the last 2 years).

you can also do what @Bobout said and have 2 phones or get the mini later when it shows up refurbished.

im more about the "look" of my phone more than anything. for example im technically downgrading from my 11 pro max to the standard 13 model because i love the color pink

Or get both ?. I have 12 mini purple and the Pro Max and I’m getting the 13 pro max in graphite .. I loving having both options .. use the mini when I travel or if I go away on the weekends when I don’t want to carry around my Max

My guess is you can trade in but will still need to make the payments on your 12PM until paid off.

Thanks. I think I’m doing it 🤣 the trade in value is $790 for 12PM 256gb which is crazy good i think. it’s still in great condition and it had been had the apple leather case since day 1. I really hope the value is accurate.

I switch my sim back and forth and redo my watch every time.. its not a big deal about redoing the watch every time its quick
