I have had a better shopping experience with ordering from Apple directly. Also, it seems that if you get 9/24 delivery date, they rarely miss the delivery date. When I did pre-order with AT&T the entire user flow was not as intuitive. Also, I do think the iPhone Upgrade Program is superior via Apple as you get an unlocked iPhone. My boyfriend is currently on an AT&T Next plan and his iPhone will only be unlocked once he makes all his payments (24 months I think). I'm not sure how important that is for you as there has been very little international travel in the past 20 months. I'm also not too familiar with the eSIM and how that works. Like @DrexelGirl18 has mentioned, she's seeing better deals ordering directly from her carrier, Verizon, so maybe the same applies with AT&T?
Thank you for the info. Based also on what I've been reading on this thread the best and trouble free way is to go w Apple website. Can't wait for Friday :)

personally I don’t go backwards in storage and now with new cinematic mode video which will take up more room I would not go less in my opinion

For the first time ever for any iPhone, I’m actually starting to think maybe I shouldn’t pre-order. First, I can’t decide on which color I want for the mini, and now I’m thinking I want to make sure I want the mini and not the longer battery life + ProMotion + brighter display + gold (favorite looking iPhone of all time) of the Pro model.

I think it might be wiser for me to wait for in-depth reviews, more pictures/videos, and to be able to see and try them at the Apple Store. I hate the idea of waiting and not getting the upgrade as soon as possible, but I don’t want to regret it.

i mean if something is described as your favorite looking iphone of all time why not go for that one? specs are better for that one too

Or get both 😂. I have 12 mini purple and the Pro Max and I’m getting the 13 pro max in graphite .. I loving having both options .. use the mini when I travel or if I go away on the weekends when I don’t want to carry around my Max

I’m really getting tired of having a big phone. Being able to have an all-screen design in the form factor of the Mini where I can actually reach 3-4 of the corners, and that’s super pocketable and ergonomic I think would actually be freeing and a relief in a way. When I’ve tested in the store, the 12 Mini feels so much more comfortable in the hand than the 12 Pro does, and the 13 Pro only got larger. The 12 Pro model also doesn’t feel much smaller from my XS Max, which didn’t really give me the downsized feeling I was hoping for.

On the other hand, I’ve been so jealous of the much better battery life that the 11 series and newer have had, and it seems like the 13 Mini would either be about the same or worse than my XS Max. I also have downsized once before (iPhone 7+ to 7) and regretted it 6 months later because the screen started to feel too small and the bad battery life got annoying. So I’m afraid of that happening again. I also use to say that I would only upgrade from my XS Max once the new models have ProMotion, and now they finally do, plus a screen that gets 66.67% brighter than my XS Max does. Additionally, I really don’t like any of the colors of the Mini, yet the gold 12/13 Pros are my favorite looking iPhones of all time, and I’m afraid Apple won’t have that color/shade of gold/look next year.

So, as you can see, I’m in quite the [first-world] conundrum.

If i were you i would get the non-max iphone 13 pro in gold. when it comes to colors/shades there are some you can't always count on (look at how blues and reds have changed over the last 2 years).

you can also do what @Bobout said and have 2 phones or get the mini later when it shows up refurbished.

im more about the "look" of my phone more than anything. for example im technically downgrading from my 11 pro max to the standard 13 model because i love the color pink

Naked with an e2e screen protector. The pro max is already a large phone, and a case (to me) just makes it more bulky and harder to handle especially since I have small hands. I will continue my naked run with the 13 pro max ?.

I agree with everyone else. Ordering through Apple is reliable and seamless. TV

So the wifey just told me that I would be an idiot if I didn’t get the new phone on the Apple upgrade program. The problem is, I resemble that remark.

Got some thinking to do tonight.

i always used to go caseless with the first few iPhones i had. but now with the camera bump, i just don’t want to scratch the lenses. do you just freely set your phone down on a table without worry? what if you need to slide it to pick up? i wonder if anyone makes a stick on bumper that goes around the camera bump and provides some protection? just a border protector, i don’t want to cover the lenses with glass and affect camera performance.

Hey there! I use the phone as normal and have even dropped it a few times, and it still looks perfect. I have put the phone down either face front or on the back, and still no issues. I’m sure that there are probably micro scratches, but looking at the phone straight on, I can’t see them. I do know that Amazon carries camera protectors that either individually stick on each lens, or they also carry a solid piece with lens cutouts that will make it flush. I’ve only seen the boarder protectors as a part of a skins pack from companies like dbrand, xtreme skins, etc. I’m wondering if I can just pick up a sheet of clear contact paper and cut down for the boarder. ?
