Trade in question. If you pickup instore, can the phone be turned in at the same time? Or do you still need to mail it in.

First time preordering through Apple. 13 PM 1TB Graphite. I'm just worried about UPS being the point of failure with deliveries, as I've had some terrible problems with them in the past, and I have travel plans on 9/25.

I also have a case and a MagSafe charger arriving today, not that I'm getting excited or anything...
I've had problems with UPS as well when it comes to delivering Apple products, so last year, I arranged for the phone to be held at the facility, but was told that I wouldn't be able to pick it up until after 6pm. You may want to check the details on that for your location. Also be aware of UPS drop sites vs UPS stores or the UPS main hub; depending on what you select may push back the date that you are able to arrange for pick-up.

It can be turned in at the same time, but you may want to confirm with your Apple store. Last year some stores were pick-up only and you were not able to turn in onsite.

If you have in store pick up you ave to return the old phone at that time. You will not be sent a trade box.

Apple has changed things and at least 1 delivery attempt is usually needed before you can pick up at a facility.

Hey guys! So I just finished get ready for pre order this morning and this is the first year I order through Apple website (and Apple Store app) I was wondering what will actually happen when the pre order start tomorrow? Like will they automatically direct me to my saved order, or I have to manually go to “for you” section? Trying to save any seconds if I can, haha

Last year I was able to schedule a pickup at the store when I pre ordered.
Previously, I've always been afraid to do this, as I am super anal at making sure everything restores to the new phone. One time I had an iCloud backup that must have been corrupted, but thankfully I was at home and had a super recent iTunes backup. Now with the phone-to-phone transfer being super quick and Messages/Photos in the cloud I'm not as worried about that, but I'm still hesitant at having to hand my old phone over in order to get the new one ?

Going to the 'For You' section is probably your best bet.

I think the best thing of all is to cut UPS out of the equation entirely. Fortunately, it seems as though that option exists.

either the for you section, or there might be something on the main page. I think the app will send a push notification, but it can be delayed from when the online store actually opens, so I wouldn't necessarily put faith in that.

my understanding is if you chose in-store pickup, you have to turn in your phone. There is no way to do in-store pickup and mail the old phone in separately

Making sure that I understand the process.

I’m on the IUP from last year, and I got preapproved to preorder a new 13 Pro Max through the Apple Store app.

When I look at my device on Apple’s website, it says that I’m eligible to preorder if I first pay $133.16 (the remaining two months of my first year). Will I be able to make this payment when I preorder tomorrow morning, or do I need to pay this balance now through Citizens One?

You will be able to make it tomorrow when you check out. I got the 12PM on launch day last year and I also have a remaining payment I need to make since it hasn't been a full year yet.

Man, to those of you in the East Coast US, so frickin jealous y'all don't have to wake before the crack just to put in your orders. Waking up around the 4 AM hour hurts so damn much! Then going back to sleep and getting 1-2 more hours just doesn't cut it. Even our friendly Aussies get to preorder before going to bed at a good hour. AGGHHHH!!! (sorry, had to get that off my chest)

I believe apple will charge you. I wouldn't mess with the citizens loan directly. Apple handles it all.

We used to have to wake up at 3AM until they recently switched it!

Not the only one. I'm with you on that.

Can't believe I have to wake up at 4AM to place my order Lol! The struggle. I really do miss the 12AM PST ordering time frame.

Las Vegas never sleep 💤 ...We got people here eating dinner at 02:00AM and they get drunk during the day. I shouldn't be complaining, haha!

what time of the day was your order ready for pickup? I hate waiting around all day for delivery as much as the next guy. If Apple says I can pick up my order at 8AM...then count me in for that!
I've seen some pickup time slots as early as 8am or 8:30am. When I've picked up my iPhone at the store, it's always early in the morning! Last year my time slot was 8:15am-8:30am. However, if you're doing the IUP, you'll need to return your iPhone 12 at that time. Be sure to backup everything from your 12 before you head to the Apple Store! I use iCloud so it was pretty easy to do.

Just finished with my pre-order. Trading in my iPhone 12 Mini White (64GB) and paying the difference for iPhone 13 Pro Silver (128GB). I want longer battery life and ProMotion! I love this time of the year! :apple::p

Time to set my alarm so I can wake up and place my order through the Apple Store app.

Debating if I wanna try pickup in-store or have it shipped

Selected my options! 13 PM 128 in Sierra Blue!!

Is this the first year that pre-approval has been allowed for other payment/trade-in methods than just the iUP? I haven't seen that in the past

I know, I know. We're sharing the pain here. I miss those midnight release PDT. I can't imagine waking up at 3 AM to preorder, then go back to sleep, especially since back then, you'd be logged in traffic and have to go through a longer (and more frustrating) preorder process than today.

But yeah, just getting the feeling off my chest. Not trying to cause a coastal war! :p
