I have off work on the 24th and am considering waiting in line before the store opens bc I want it ASAP. I’m afraid if I pre-order for in store pick up, it won’t be available until the afternoon.

does this sound crazy? Anyone else going to stand in line the 24th?

I wish we could change the poll to color we are getting. I’m seeing mostly blue comments but a lot of graphite too. That blue is beautiful and I bet Apple knew to make a ton of them

I keep forgetting the 13 series has a smaller notch. I guess that goes to show how little I pay attention to the notch on a daily basis ?

What is everyone's plan for delivery? Are you doing the traditional ship to home or pick-up at Apple store?

Still deciding. If I can get an early pickup at the Apple Store I may do that. Too late in the morning and there will be pickup time delays regardless of scheduled. On the other hand, I have still My Choice Premium from last year so it looks like it won’t be difficult to have my package held at the UPS CC. I can get there when it opens and be out quickly without a line. I can’t have it on the truck though - it will arrive too late. Decisions. Decisions.

Precice order timing is imperative. If you place your order too early @5am sharp then it will be the first batch on the plane and it will arrive at your door late in the day. If order too late, then it will miss the first flight. Order @5:19am, then it'll be in the last batch on the first flight out. First out of the bunch to go through customs. Then it'll the last batch placed in the regional flights then to be the first out of the the plane. Then it'll be placed last in the truck of the local carrier from the airport to be the first one out at the distribution center. Then it will be one of the last packages placed on the delivery truck and first to be delivered in the morning. Than you can get on with your life as normal...if possible.

UPS doesn't deliver in order of addresses, they deliver in order of how it was placed in the turck, UPS drivers zigzag all over damnation.

If you specify a carrier in your preorder it will not be unlocked. It will come with an esim and be already linked to your phone number when you turn it on.
If you pay in full, it will be unlocked. From Apples website:

All iPhone models sold on apple.com and at the Apple Store are unlocked, which means they aren’t tied to a single carrier, and you can use a SIM from the carrier of your choosing. The exception is when you buy an iPhone with an AT&T Installment Plan. It will be locked to AT&T as the carrier and will only work on the AT&T network for the term of your Installment Plan agreement.

I’m grabbing the silver this time! I’ve gone through all colors except black (and black just looks dull to me). I wish they had a different color than Sierra Blue.

I’m actually digging the iPhone 13 Pink color. Looks new and good.

I might just go pick it up at the Apple store. I don’t know if I have to work yet, but I can probably avoid working Friday.

I have a screen protector for my 12PM that goes over the notch and just has a cutout for the speaker and it’s barely noticeable. I hate the screen protectors that actually do have a cutout for the whole notch.

My local UPS is always late late afternoon delivery for the last 4 years for me.

Ok, what did I miss in the keynote? I thought that as long as you buy directly from Apple, the phones were automatically unlocked—it is or was only when you purchased from the carrier that the phones were locked. Please, someone help me verify this. I have some sleuthing to do.
