Los Angelenos - 20 minutes to check for some arrival scans for the first flight in from SDF.

Has anyone who requested their phone be held at their local UPS CC via email seen their delivery status change to “will call” yet?

I can’t remember if it changes over before or after it reaches the local distribution hub. Mine still says “delivery by 7:00pm”

Meanwhile, it hasn't even started to rain where I am. I hope UPS ends flying out later tonight. The flight isn't very long so I think it's very doable. I swear one year my iPhone flew overnight to the NYC area and was still delivered to me on iPhone Day. I'm hoping for the best! Also, if they can't make Friday, I'm hoping Apple pays for UPS to deliver on Saturday. 🙏 I also don't think it's worth going to the Apple Store to pickup an iPhone when I know mine is just delayed because of weather. It's not ideal, but I can't blame UPS or Apple for Mother Nature's plans. 🤷‍♀️
I’m impatient, so I’ll definitely be heading to the nearest Apple store that has my configuration of choice in stock. :) To me, the whole point of preordering is to get it on release day. It’s certainly not the fault of Apple or UPS, but it doesn’t change the fact the deliveries will most likely be delayed.

Ok NY’rs there’s a sliver of hope I’ve been periodically checking flight aware and now it could be my eyes but I think the storm is shifting north so may not be as severe and which means planes could start departing KY soon for overnight arrival! Not holding my breath but so far no further new arrival delays past 7:15PM.

I haven't. I got one e-mail last night saying they got my request to hold it and would process it. Usually, in the app or detailed tracking, it shows your Customer Request or an Exception entered - then that a "Hold at CC" type entry is made. I'm starting to think I should have not messed with it and let the truck come as it may...I've done this before and my hold processed while my delivery was on the truck. So the truck person didn't deliver it and just drove around all day with it. I then had to meet said truck at 6pm-ish once it got off-loaded back at the CC. I tried calling today, but couldn't seem to get a human on the other end.

Best of luck to us both! 🤞 🍀

not yet. village drapes tracker no longer showing “hold for pickup” but I got verified by both phone and email that I have a current hold so let’s hope it sticks

So far departure hasn’t been delayed past 7:15 for new arrivals at JFK so that’s something, it just can’t go much further before I’m waiting til Monday. But we will see. Let’s hope everyone’s phones arrive in NY!

I’d like to think tomorrow at the very least unless we get lucky for a departure just later tonight. But I heard someone say UPS doesn’t do Saturday and may have to wait til Monday…
They update airport delays at undetermined times. Before EWR updated their hold times to 7:15 PM, they let the previous hold time lapse for a good 10 minutes.

I was the one who mentioned that UPS doesn’t deliver on Saturdays, unless Saturday delivery is requested and paid for at the time of shipment. As much as I hate saying it, it’s looking more and more like Monday.

In the same boat. They requested to hold at my CC but no movement or visual confirmation. I’m still at import scan on my phones. I live in Lexington so I know they’re definitely not gonna fly here from Louisville.

Slowest line of storms ever. Doing that south to north "training" downpours nonsense. 😖
It should clear out by 8,9pm. I am hopeful UPS will get to land there.

Looks like mine left SDF at 4 pm. Closest UPS flight out to CA is the 4:05 departure of flight UPS5514. Over New Mexico right now, arrives BUR at 5:14 PDT. Tracking on FlightRadar24. Always fun!

I think it gets trucked up to the SBA/SMX area from there, based on past experience.

Yay! 😃
