In the unlikely event that they don’t attempt today, my advice is to have the package held for pickup somewhere. That might push you back to Tuesday but at least it resolves your work conflict.

Just like last year the stainless steel frame has imperfection. Alas not as many of these scuff marks which they appear to be when up close zoomed. My first gold 12PM had what you see here all on the bottom edge top glass area. This one is just one on the left lower corner area. Oh well it's character ?

Looks like the truck that my phone was loaded on broke down or something. The UPS website has updated the estimated delivery time to be by 7 PM rather than the 11:15-3:15 estimate it showed earlier. I am also no longer able to view the map to see where the truck is

Every single time I forget it’s not as easy as go in and pick up, there’s a line even for those who reserved/paid ?.

and every year while in line I think to myself, next year, I’m sending it my work instead…

only to meet someone lovely who then rings me up/out and I realize it’s not the crappy wait in line (no offense to the lovely neighbor I was next to, whom I chatted with briefly) that makes it special.

My phone showed up about 2 pm. The transfer of data from the old phone to the new took maybe 15ish minutes, went well -- of course, then I had to get all the apps downloaded again. My issue is, the phone line doesn't work -- the eSIM set up but it looks like T-Mobile needs to change the EID in their files before I have cell service. What is really annoying, apparently several others are having similar issues as there is over a 2 hour wait time to talk to a CS agent. Fortunately they do a call back, so I don't have to wait on the phone. It is annoying there is nowhere in the T-Mobile app that I can change the EID for the phone I want on that line.

What's today?

It is Friday, September 24th, 2021. Today is a very SPECIAL day. The most important day of the year. It is iPhone launch day. First, I would like to thank you for being here. Second, I like to let each one of you know today is our day. It is your day. The day we have been waiting for is finally here. I expect everyone to receive their iPhones smoothly. Today will be the day we will never forget. We are going to have a very busy day. We are here to celebrate. I am happy to announce today we will be unboxing our brand-new phone. This iPhone will be with us for another year. I want everyone to celebrate and share the excitement together. This is the day we have been waiting for this whole entire week. If you have followed this thread since the beginning, you know it was not an easy week. We experienced a lot of panic attacks, anxiety, curiosity, wondering if we are going to get that departure scan.. wondering if we ever going to leave China behind. I’m very proud to say no one was left behind. Everyone made it out safely from China. As every year, I was the last one to leave China and Kentucky 😊

What happened this year?

Well, we learned Cargolux has been dropped by Apple. Cargolux was the main shipping carrier that was used by Apple during the pandemic in 2020. Some of you mentioned Cargolux was being used directly for Apple distribution centers, warehouses, or stores. That could be true but I believe UPS is the main shipping carrier now. I expect UPS to carry out all the iPhone 14 in the year 2022.

What makes this whole experience special?

Once you open your iPhone box. I want all of you to remember what we went through this entire week. It is good to note, one week ago from today… we just were placing our orders for iPhone 13. It’s unbelievable to understand our iPhone was in China routed to the Republic of Korea…then to Anchorage, Alaska, and then Louisville, Kentucky following up to your house within just one week. As we experience things in life… If you ever get to travel to go to China, Korea, Alaska, Kentucky… You will remember this thread very well. This thread will always remind you what you went through as long you were promised an iPhone launch delivery day. You will understand and experience the feeling of your iPhone being at the airport location. It’s a very special feeling. It's just hard to explain. But, you get the point.

Why do we do this every year?

We had a few people in this thread asking us… calling us out… why are we obsessed with following the planes? Everyone is getting their iPhone delivered on September 24, 2021… So, what’s the point of being here? What’s the point of tracking the flights down? Why are you so crazy about chasing the planes?

Well. Let me break this down for you. I have been upgrading my iPhone since 2008 every single year. I have not missed a single year of not upgrading an iPhone. I love iPhone. I believe it’s the most revolutionary and innovative product of this world. Therefore, a lot of us here share the same exact or similar story. We are die-hard fans of an iPhone. iPhone is something we spend more time on than we spend with our own family.

Let's talk about the numbers... Visitors count 479K+... over 13K+ posts... Within just 1 week! The numbers don't lie. I believe we broke a record! Thanks to all of you!

People that are in the China, UK, Europe, Australia, Canada, and other major continents do not have the luxury of what we have here. It is a blessing to be able to experience tracking our iPhones straight from the assembly plant in ZhongZhou China. We are very lucky and blessed to be able to track our iPhones straight from Zhangzhou, China. It is then, our lovely journey begins and we all get to know each other on a different level. We all get to share our excitement and emotions. There are plenty of people here who do this every single year including myself. I’m very proud of it. We are just very cool people.

What’s NEXT?

Set the timer already! The countdown is on!!! The iPhone 14 event predictions have already been made in this article by me which was posted by MacRumors on last Sunday. Check it out, I expect to see all of you back to pre-order the new iPhone 14!!! We will all reunite again. I would love to see all of you come back here! We will start all over again!!!

It’s here!!! I heard the UPS truck pull up and walked outside. The driver cheerfully greeted me then said “You must have an iPhone” ?. He did say they are required to make contact, even though they aren’t doing signatures right now. Efficiently, my return kit for my old phone came at the same time.

My Sierra Blue 13 Pro Max got delivered at 3:00pm AZ time. Totally impressed with just how fast it restored from my previous 11 Pro Max iCloud backup. It's all up and running. So far, so good. The blue color is very nice and the screen really is stunning. (Though it is definitely heavier and overall chunkier than the 11 Pro Max, for sure.)

Sigh … UPS tracking didn’t say anything about signature required and I haven’t had to sign for any Apple delivery in the last 18 months (including last year’s iPhone and a $3500 iMac build). I was at home today anyway but had to run a quick late afternoon errand and of course that’s when they attempted delivery. And signature was required this time. So I got a pleasant “we missed you” slip instead of a parcel.

They won’t re-attempt delivery until Monday and the CC is closed over the weekend. I know it’s not the end of the world, but I look forward to this all year and would have just had it held for pickup at the CC if I knew signature was required.

Was in the same boat. I called UPS, they transferred me to another department that handles international shipping and the guy told me that I will receive a phone call so I can pick up the package tonight. Just got that call and I'll be able to pick it up in a couple of hours. Call ups they might let you do the same.

So fed ex tried to steal the phone today. They said couldn't drop it off cause nobody was home or business closed and they would deliver it monday. I called and the guy was no help so I hung up on him and called back and this lady was helpful and told me where the package would be after 6pm. I went to the shipping center and showed my ID and they get box with nice clean blade cuts on the tape with just enough left to keep it some what closed.
