questions.

I haven’t updated my iPhone 14PM to iOS 17.0.1
- should I update my current phone first before transferring stuff on the new iPhone?
or
- should I do the restore from iCloud back up first, then update the new iPhone to iOS 17.0.2?

if I update my 14PM to iOS 17.0.1 now, should I update the 15PM first to 17.0.2 before restore?

I just need to avoid some failure that could occur while setting up the phone.

I would say update both devices. Do a manual backup on 14 PM after either using iCloud or (encrypted backup for health data) Finder. Restore the backup on 15 PM.

I normally just set up as new after backing up the old device through iCloud then signing in to resync all the data back but only install the apps I need as a fresh start.

This makes me want to cry. And wear a case for a while. And buy AppleCare+.

I can’t imagine being excited enough to get a launch day release, have this happen, have to spend more money, AND have an extremely hard time getting a new one for the next 1-2 months.

Just walked-in to the store at Austin, TX and got a reservation for pickup at 6:45pm! The line is long but the staff went thru everyone fast, so I was able to leave before 8am.
This would be my first iPhone and I am so excited, that's why I am trying to get it on the first day.

I know this sounds crazy but a friend of mine just said he's had several bad experiences with phone deliveries (he's an Android guy though) If I can get another iUP loan should I just get the one for pickup after work or just hope everything goes smoothly with delivery?

Big day of deliveries here today. Lets see, what is coming today...

- My wifes 15PM
- Wifes Apple Watch Series 9
- New Unifi UDM-Pro
- u6 Lite AP
- USB-A to USB-C cables for carplay in our cars
- 4k wireless HDMI adapter for a project I am working on for one of my clients
- Something from Comcast... No idea what it is. I downgraded from 1.2gb to 1gb internet and already have the latest hardware so no idea what they could be sending me.


I think the UPS guy is gonna hate me today. Only two things that got delivered early.

Well my experiment using iCloud backup for iPhone is failure my 200mps down and 10 mph up is too damn slow. So I can either do restore/backup or choose the backup from MacBook option in Quickstart I guess. It was gonna take over 8 hours not acceptable given my new phone should be here. I forced a backup of aw Ultra and am next backing up one more time to the computer

Got my hands on a Natural Titanium Pro Max while waiting for my phone to be delivered. Delivery date has still not moved and is scheduled for 9th Oct.

So i placed an order for the watch ultra 2 for store pick up but unfortunately it says pick up tomorrow. I wonder if I can pick up my ultra 2 today when i check in for the iphone 15 pro max? Technically the watch is also ready for pick up as i got the email but says check in Saturday.

Worth a try! Probably depends on the employee on if they'll do it or not

I would ask the Apple Store specialist. The only reason I could think of is they may have exact number of the model you want and they are reserved for folks who has pick up reservations for today. But it won’t hurt to ask - you never know if they have extra for walk ins

Woah! They must be getting shipments in at the stores every hour or something because it now shows an even closer store has the Natural Titanium in stock to pick up TODAY!

I'm half tempted to try to get a second iUP and just go pick a blue one one up today. Instead of risking a later date or stolen phone.

Looks like they have units of 512 GB available, but no 256 GB in stock anywhere around me. I am guessing that 256 GB was extremely popular this year since it is the new entry level storage for the 15 Pro Max.

I found the same thing here in Central Texas. No 256 GB Pro Max devices to be found, but lots of options with 512 GB.
