Does anyone know how you can apply a downpayment and still get trade-in promo credit on a pre-order/order? I did a mock order of an iphone 14 and I don't see a way to make my monthly payment 0 (after credit) by applying a downpayment.
I would contact a rep and maybe they can process that over the phone.

VZ is getting awful with the deals these last few years. I’ve been with them since 2012 and I’m considering switching soon but I I may stay another year.

Anyways I’m not excited at ALL about upgrading from the 13 but I’m eligible to upgrade. I’ll likely join the pre order chaos on Friday for the final time on VZ.

Yes compared to T-Mobile and AT&T, Verizon lately has the worst deals. The whole 36 month payment plan don’t sit well with me. I’m going to continue to pay outright and trade in my iPhone to Apple. It sucks that my 512GB Pro Max is only getting $650 for my trade in. I’m undecided on what color to choose. I really wanted Gold this year.

Will a carrier give you a better trade in price?

I'm skeptical to upgrade from a 13 with the longer length of 36-months of credits. I'm wondering if I just trade in with Apple and then pay the difference out of pocket instead of being locked into the 36-months.

As you can see from the Apple discounts for Verizon, we have a $800 trade in value, while AT&T and T-Mobile both have $1000. Typical Verizon.

Do you mean like use a Apple Card or Apple’s payment plan for Verizon?

The best way to do it, as a former Apple Store Employee, is to use the carrier promo in store or online. If you do the promo through Verizon, the entire trade in value of 800 gets split up over bill credits. With Apple, you get $450 instant and only $350 is split over bill credits. This means you still get Apple's trade in value and the trade is done through apple (in store or mail in), and you also get the bill credits coming. If you leave Verizon early, you still got Apple's trade in at the least.

This totally makes sense. I might end up doing this.

Can you pay off early or are you stuck with the 36 months?
If you pay it off early, you lose any of the remaining monthly credits, correct?
Correct.

Can you not do the trade in via shipping? I live HOURS away from the closest Apple Store.
