Hi! I noticed today that I have in my viber archive user photos from people who don't know.... Who are these people?? And why I have in my cell their photos?

Hello,
I can receive pictures through viber but i cant snd pictures.. In pervious version viber was awesome but when i download the new version viber is creating a problem.. Whenever i try to snd pictures viber show the
notification"viber doesnt have access to ur photos change ur privacy settings" n in my phne there is no privacy settings plzzzz try to solve my viber problem... I have iphne 4 n version is ios 5 n viber version is 3

Hey there, I am in the uk for a holiday and I am having trouble with my viber... I am connected to a wifi and I have switched off all of my connections such as location services and cellular data. But for some reason when I message off viber it doesn't send and when I go to call a pop up message appears that reads "Viber services are currently unavailable or being blocked. Please try again later. Or make a normal phone call"

I dont know what to do :(

Hello, why i am still online on viber rven when im not using it and Ive turned it completely off? Is it just because im on wifi generaly? Does mi status change to online everytime when im on wifi?

It could be that the network you are connected to is blocking Viber's traffic.

1. First, please try uninstalling and reinstalling Viber when connecting to a few different WiFi networks (in order to pinpoint the source of the problem). What are the results?
2. Also, please make sure the following ports are enabled ("forwarded") on your routers or firewalls:
TCP: 5242 + 4244
UDP: 5243 + 9785

(if you are not sure how to enable ports, you may contact your router manufacturer or your Internet Service Provider)

"Online" means that Viber is running in the foreground or background (the user is available for calls or messages).
When the phone has no internet connection, or the user manually used the "Exit" option inside Viber, then their status will change to "Last seen..."

I have been running VIBER on my iPad 3 for over a year and really enjoy using it for voice conversations with my family and friends.

I saw an update for at the App Store, for a VIBER version released on July 31, 2013 and I decided to upgrade it (for the doodles, etc). I had not run it since the update, but now when I am trying to use it, the VIBER app will not work.

1. When I tap on the VIBER icon on my Ipad's home screen, it tries to start but immediately returns to my home screen. Seems like it cannot load.

2. I can see notification messages when friends send me a text message, but when I try to start the app, go back to point #1 (cannot load).

3. When a friend calls me, I can hear the ringing, and I see the notification that my friend is calling, but when I try to answer the call, nothing happens.

4. When I go to the App store to see if there is a fix/update, it just shows that the VIBER app is "Installed" and I cannot re-download and install.

I realize that I can try to uninstall and reinstall, but I would prefer to avoid doing this as I did not backup my conversations before the upgrade (lesson learned!).

Ideally, there would be an update so that I can reinstall without losing my conversation history, but I don't want to wait for the next update (unless it's going to come out in a few days or a week).

I also wouldn't mind if I could download back to my previous version of VIBER, though I don't know if this is in any way possible. Is it?

Anyone else experience this issue recently, and can provide some suggestions other than the uninstall and reinstall? I prefer to keep my history.

Cant hear the other person on Viber

Hi there its Raz here,
i am using Viber on HTC wildfire, i only started using Viber about 4 months ago. And after the first few calls i made were clear, since then the other person's voice is never clear. there is a lot of distortion that you cant understand anything. Can someone help please. i am using wifi and all other apps/ applications work fine

Please note that Wildfire is not officially compatible with Viber, and therefore we cannot guarantee full functionality of Viber on it. That may be the reason for the problems you are experiencing. FWIW, I also posted the following at the VIBER Facebook page:
I decided to give up on saving my data/history/conversations, and I removed the app from my iPad. I tried to re-download and re-install it, and though it appears to show the progress bar for both steps, it stalls a little at the "Installing..." phase, and then completes. I see the VIBER icon on my home screen again, and it still shows a "2" for the number of recent notifications. And then when i try to launch the VIBER application, it's the same thing...goes quickly to the white screen with purple borders, and within a second it disappears and I'm back to the home screen on the iPad. I've uninstalled, turned off and back on the iPad, and re-downloaded and re-installed. Same results. My only options now are to hope for another release/update of the VIBER app, and or to upgrade my iOS (uggh). Any another suggestions? Thanks.

I use viber version 2.1.5.270 on ipod touch version 4.2.1. It had always worked fine until this happened with one of my contacts:
We were chatting. I did not have her phone no. registered on my contacts' list, so only the number appeared at the top of the screen. In between messages I saved her phone no. onto my contacts on the ipod. Next thing that happens, a NEW THREAD with parts of the conversation appears, now with her name. But the conversation split, and saved parts of the conversation on one thread (the one with the name) and some isolated messages from that same conversation on another thread-as if they were two different contacts.

I erased the phone no. from my contacts, and now a third thread appeared, splitting the convesation into three! And now sometimes I write and send a message on one of the 3 'threads' from the same conversation, and the answer comes on another one of those three!

How can I re-consolidate all 'threads' into the original conversation?

I installed this version on my iPad 3, but I still have the same issue. It tries to start up, and then immediately unloads and I'm back to the home screen on the iPad.

Hi,
The fact that your girlfriend moved to Glasgow shouldn't affect on the quality of the call. What might have happened is that either of you is now using a bad quality connection, and that's naturally not letting Viber utilize its full potential.

Please try the following:
1. both of you - please try to use Viber when connected to different WiFi networks. This will help identifying the source of the problem.
2. Please make sure that both sides have the latest version of Viber installed.

Does either of the solutions help?

I can text on Viber ok but when I try calling all I get is continuous beeping and no connection. I previously texted the person and they were awaiting my call each time. I've tried on wifi close to the router and on 3G network with the same results. The phone at the destination rings sometimes but when they answer there is nothing.

I'm using a new HTC Desire C phone which works perfectly on everything else. What could be the problem I'm desperate?

I have the latest version of viber and so has my recipient who is in Australia. Other viber users call my recipient from uk with no problems.

It is important that both of you switch between a few different WiFi networks (you change networks, then try, then the person in Australia changes networks, then you try again).

Are the results the same in each case?
What device is the person in Australia using?

I was a functional user of Viber on my iPhone4 and recently upgraded to iPhone5. Unfortunately, due to the different SIM size, I needed to get a new SIM card. Downloaded and installed Viber on my new phone and the "activation" number given to me via both SMS and voice call are incorrect.
I have searched and found articles online confirming that I should have deregistered on my last sim and phone before trying to register on new phone - unfortunately, it's too late now!
Any suggestions on getting myself up and running again? Can your support team not assist with a manual deactivation of my number so that I can register again?

Would really appreciate feedback from Viber or anyone who has done this previously.

Hi there,

Actually, a deactivation is not needed at all when coming to install Viber on a new device. The reason for receiving the "wrong code" error message in this case is different.

Please try removing Viber, wait 24 hours, reinstall and try again (make sure you try both the SMS and the automated call options). You may also try to register to Viber through a few different WiFi networks.

In addition, you may try to register to Viber with a different number (for example - your home landline number, a friend's number, etc.), in order to determine whether the problem is specific with your number, or a general one.

I thought I should quote my previous posts to keep everything in one place, and maybe this will give enough info to others who may have had the same issue that I had. As you can read from my posts above, I had upgraded to the July 31st, 2013 version of VIBER onto my iPad 3, and unfortunately this 'broke' VIBER and I could no longer use it...it would continually appear briefly and then disappear when I tried to start the app.

I removed VIBER from my iPad for well over a week, and then I saw the update on Aug 15, 2013. I downloaded and installed this version onto my iPad 3, but I was still having the same issues. I removed once more, and reinstalled (I did this right away, did not wait 24hrs) but it still failed. After this time, I did not delete the program from my iPad 3, and just left it with the icon on my screen.

A couple of days later, a friend called me using VIBER and I could hear it ringing on the iPad. In my first experience noted above (with the July 31st version) I would answer the call but the app would start up and then shutdown.

THIS time it was different, I could 'almost' answer the call...by this I mean when I heard the call come in, I did not rush to answer it because I did not think it would work...my iPad was in dormant mode, so I picked it up and clicked on the VIBER notification (or did I swipe to turn ON the iPad?? can't quite remember). The ringing stopped, but THIS time VIBER asked me to enter my phone number so that it could send me the activation code by SMS. This was new, as previous times it would just shutdown!

Ok, so I entered my home landline phone number (for the iPad) but I never received a call. Anyway, the good news is that after this step it asked me to sync my VIBER contact with my iPhone contacts, and I was able to immediately call my friend back on VIBER. I even closed VIBER and started it up again, and it now does startup fine!

Just thought I would share this in case anyone is stuck with a broken VIBER that is unable to run/start/display on their iPad. Maybe this will somehow help you to get VIBER up and running again.

Thanks VIBER team...something in the Aug 15 release made a difference, not right away, but eventually!
