Một chàng trai may mắn đã nhận được chiếc MacBook Pro 16 "M1 Pro. Anh ta cũng so sánh chiếc áo mới với MacBook Pro 15" (2020).

(Thanks, kerrikins)

It is pretty thick. But considering that with the new body and fans. Even if we use the old 16" Intel CPU, it'll prob have so much better thermal performance compared to the 2019 16" . And remember, we are using an ARM CPU which means it's gonna be much more efficient too on day to day usage etc. So considering these things. I think I can believe Apple's claim (i think they said this on their event) that on day to day usage the fan won't prob turn on (or be audible)

Thanks for posting this. The notch seems to disappear completely when you turn the menu bar into pure black, the miniLED helps there!

The Intel 16" went a little bit thicker due to the thermals...
So this...considering is having an 30W instead of the Intel 45W...this should have no issues with the thermals

Heres how the Monterey will support the notch in full screen

My god the display and real estate comparing to the 15"...the notch? who cares about the notch when you have a non compromised laptop now...and those key travel compared to the butterfly one..it will be a pleasure
And the white balance on the new one compared to the semi-yellow 15" mbp

That's a dummy unit. Totally black in the holes compared to what you can see in the 15inch holes.

Edit: mmm... he's moving the mouse around. Why are the holes black on the new one but you can see inside on the 15???

you are talking about usbC inside ports that are painted black on the new one?

I think the base of the new 16-inch might actually be thinner that the old one since the new lid is much thicker. It just looks thicker because it starts tapering lower due to the HDMI port.

remember that on the table it will always look thicker thanks to the new 4 rubbers that stand on top of the base
the 15" have these that are very slim and not that tall

Wow, first real life video of the M1 16”! Great find!

I wish that there was someone else filming, or that a tripod was used. Very frustrating to watch. Also, not sure how useful it is to compare it to an even thinner and smaller older generation 15”. You’d think that someone who got their hands on a not yet shipped machine would’ve been able to grab an Intel 16” for proper comparison. Or did he compare to an Intel 16”? I have to watch again… it’s early and I’ve not had coffee yet.

But, great to see all the same!

Also, can’t help but notice that the new 16” had more of a satin finish to it versus the more refined matte finish on previous models. I noticed this with the renders as well but thought it was due to the CGI. Not sure if I like that slight sheen.

the lid on the 15" and previous intel macs always had that curved design like the imac...the margins of the lid very very thin but in the middle thicker
here its flat from the edge to the middle, very clean lines

I'd like to see how it looks on Light Mode. I never use Dark Mode and that notch really bothers me, I would pressume it's very noticeable in Light Mode and with lighter background...

Be interesting to see how much the feet on the new Pro’s are jacking up the body. They look pretty tall on the press images. Because the body’s on the old Pros tapered quite a bit towards the edge it may be that there isn’t actually much difference in body thickness and it’s just the taller feet.

If I still work from home I must get this beast immediately haha. But sigh. Now I don’t even have time to use my MBA at home.

I am sorry. That's just my personal opinion. But I really don't find it good looking. In fact I find Apple really lazy. Now I am not saying: oh change the design every two years like some cheap Windows laptop. But geez. My Powerbook G4 looked exactly the same (except for the keyboard). And that was 15+ years ago. It's also gotten quite thick and big. Irrelevant when used as a pseudo-desktop. But for people who actually take it out every day, I honestly find it too big and too thick compared the 15 and 16"ers of yesteryear.

Increasingly I think they did the notch to distract us all from how thick it looks.
but seriously, I’m so in need of an update after 8 years that I’ll look past the cosmetics. I think the 2013 rMBP still looks outstanding and slimmer than these despite being the same dimensions (supposedly).

I think there is definitely room now for a large MacBook Air.

A 15 inch MacBook Air, with slim bezels and an M1 or M2, so it's even smaller than the 2016 Intel 15 inch models, would suit a lot of people who want the larger screen size but also want a bit more portability and... style.

I am very much looking forward to getting my 16 inch M1 Max MBP, but not for its looks!
