For entertainment I watch Jarad Polins weekly podcast RAW Talk. A few weeks ago his videographer friend Todd Wolfe shot a wedding.
The results were rather interesting and the ribbing was amusing. Anyway worth a watch if bad language doesn't offend.
I watched that video recently and thought of this thread as I did. :D

Personally don't think much of Fro as a photographer and find him less entertaining as time goes on, but you've got to give him credit for branding himself well.

Yes he's more about marketing and branding these days than photography, but I find it entertaining and a good background whilst editing.
I'm glad Todd didn't shoot my wedding though!

Since this thread is still going, here some advice for people in the same situation as the OP:

The camera brand and even lenses don't matter much for a pro who knows what he is doing.

But if you don't know what you are doing, don't use Canon! Rent a Nikon D810 and a D4s with fast zoom lenses. Shoot wide open at a high shutter speed.
With the D810 you can crop if you **** up on the composition. The D4s has idiot proof autofocus. And all FX Nikons have excellent high iso and dynamic range, so if you **** up on the exposure just fix it in post. Same goes for color and white balance: shoot raw and fix in post.

That way you can just focus on the picture taking and don't have to worry about the technical part.

The OPs choice to rent an old Canon (5dII) and some entry level Nikon body is odd to say the least.
The more reason to be happy it worked out for him.

That is VERY good advice, for the whole weekend he could have rented plenty of gear for a couple of hundred dollars.

We don't have a clue whether it worked out for him or not, he has basically gone silent since the shoot...

I respect if he doesn't want to show us some images, even though he said he would.

1400 pictures... I will never do photography again.. im waiting for couple to be happy and clarify which ones they like the best.. I need a few days to get over the trauma of photo editing..

pics are probably rubbish but il wait to hear if the bride dies from the rest of the pics that she hasnt seen yet...

FYI im pretty good at learning cameras really quickly, thats one of my talents :)

Come on thread starter, I shot a wedding less than 24 hours ago and I'm already posting photos to your thread. Lift your game, this is easy money after all. :D :p

Seriously, @jms969 - these shots are revolting, and you know it.

Wedding clothing flatters very few people - these are not the clothes we wear regularly, and hardly anybody manages to look comfortably at ease and good in them. On top of that, it is a often very stressful day for the couple, and if you have someone who does not really know what they are doing behind a camera, it is a possible recipe for disaster.

Leave @salacious alone; however, I hope he has learned whatever lesson that fraught week-end may have taught him, not least of which are don't mess with the dreams of others when you haven't much of a clue what you are about behind the lens.

The silence is deafening, I guess we have all that we are going to get...

And your obsession is becoming somewhat unsettling, - and almost pathological - to be honest.

If I were the OP - and I have made my views on his actually accepting responsibility for this quite clear earlier - I thought it ill-advised - your posts would ensure that I would post absolutely nothing of what I had done.
