Screen flicker during boot after login seems to be normal. My screen goes dark 2-4 times after login (MP7.1, W5700X, XDR). Looks similar to video from lxsrun above.

I am not sure if that's normal because I've changed the W5700X a few days ago to a Vega II and all those screen flickers and other phenomena are completely gone. For your interest, I've struggled with Kernel Panics after wake up and also this problem is gone as well.

yup. strictly speaking, it's not "normal". i just want to know whether any of these are defective: the w5700x silicon in general, *MY* w7500x, *MY* xdr. if it's bad firmware, drivers, or software; i don't mind. i don't want to waste time and carbon footprint returning and exchanging them. thanks again for the feedback everyone.
