I ordered mine from simply mac on November 13th I called them last Tuesday and told them to get some details. They were told it will ship to them on December 16th. I probably won't get it until the 23of December. Has anyone else been waiting that long?

I got (ordered) mine from simply mac as well. Been waiting since black Friday last month. They gave me the web number to check on the shipping date. It only today changed from "not yet shipped' to 'prepared for shipment' , but no other status change...it still says that it won't ship till Jan 6th even though it says 'prepared for shipment'...strange. I really hope that when I wake up it'll say shipped.

Best of luck with your shipment. Which simply mac store did you order from?

Update: Shipped this Morning, still no status on the delivery date. :)

I was informed by my reseller that my unit has cleared alaska. I ordered on the 20th of November.

MacMall/PCMall has 550 27" i7s arriving 12/28.(I'd assume the other models are arriving as well in this shipment, but this isn't confirmed.) There are approx 227 back ordered as of right now. I just ordered mine today. I just ordered this from my buddy of mine from when I used to work there in their Milwaukee office. So, unless apple changes the date, that is in when they will be shipping them.

I would assume that is when apple will be fulfilling their orders as well, but I wouldn't take that to the bank.

I ordered an i7 on November 19th and have been told told by my reseller I'm looking at January but they still can't give an exact date

Just hoping when it finally arrives it's in full working order....... Sick of waiting now!!

I also gotta go with out of state resellers - tax in CA is almost 10%... insane. So. What I'm wondering is when you order from a reseller, and they are backordered, and don't have your order in for however long - for some people it's over a month(!), what is the week of production on that iMac? Is it one from early on, like, say, week 40 or whatever, or does it have zero connection with the date of order? It would seem to me, if you ordered Nov. 19, you won't be getting an iMac produced around that time, but rather one that was produced on a date minus the shipping time - so if they delivered it Monday, it would be a week 50 or 51, and not, say, week 40... anyone have any ideas or for those who went through this whole thing, can you confirm? It would really suck to have to wait all this time and still get a really old (early production) iMac, with flaws galore...

I ordered an i7 from Mac Mall. Guys, I'm scared though that it is Mac Mall!

We're probably about 100 percent going to get a Yellow Screen. If it is too bad to stand, do you think Mac Mall will accept return? Too bad I'll be out $100 shipping no matter what. Mac Mall never really heard of a "deal," I guess. $100 shipping for overnight is a bad harsh. haha.

If you're thinking about a straight return, yes, you'll need to deal with the reseller. However, if you're committed to keeping your i7 (or any iMac, for that matter), you can deal directly with Apple for repair and possibly an exchange (if tech support deems this as a solution) under the warranty. Thus, you'll avoid spending $$ to ship back to the reseller and you're dealing directly with Apple.

Mine arrived in pristine condition yesterday (12/21). Exactly one day and a month after I ordered it. It is a week 50 machine with a Seagate Drive.

I ordered from a small independent reseller who my employer does alot of business with.

Thanks. Apple stores aren't super close, so I hope Apple would let me ship it in to them, I wouldn't mind the costs. Well, we'll see, maybe my machine will be ok, but that seems unlikely.

I can't believe I ordered from Mac Mall. These guys or something else. They've been calling me trying to make me add things to the order, making me play games by answering the phone of only the "line," I placed the order with, etc. It's crazy.

I'm really scared what's going to happen with the order. Instead of sending the units to Mac Mall Apple should have just sold them themselves.

So much for a pristine system. After applying the firmware update my machine has now developed a flicker. Looks like it is back to Apple for mine.

Ordered my i7 from On Sale (same as MacMall) and it shipped with no notification of any kind. Gets here on the 29th. I hope there are no issues..

Got mine on the 24th from MacMall. Ordered somewhere around November 20th. Was out of town and UPS just dumped it on front porch. Glad I had the neighbor watching for it to move it inside. Was surprised that they would leave it without a signature, but what do I know?

I have to say I feel it was worth the wait. The screen is scalding my eyeballs. Its gorgeous. Got Fusion 3.0 with XP up and running. Had Fusion, a remote desktop connection, Mozy Backup, Lightroom import, iTunes, Mail, and Firefox running like butter all at the same time. Only limitation was my internet connection for speed. Fantastic. Exceeded my expectations...

'Glad your neighbor was there. You'd think that the reseller would send it with a signature receipt, at least...

Anyway, yes it is an awesome beast isn't it? Congrats and enjoy!
