4msk: Did you see anything?

On my trackingpage, the info about Monday 23rd has disappeared,

the shipment has now arrived in Koeln (cologne is a bloody perfume)
and it states, quite dry, "on it's way".

Should I read that as "it is scheduled for delivery according to the new plan, which is now 23rd" or "you lucky bastard are being manipulated into insanity, so that you freely will give your iMac away to the driver when he comes around tomorrow evening at 23.00"?

KOELN (COLOGNE), DE 11/19/2009 10:55 P.M. ARRIVAL SCAN

I think it's safe to say we actually have no idea where our iMac's are. China? Korea? Germany? Poland? :D

It just says 'In Transit' now, no date given anymore.

Which means that it actually IS in Cologne.
Check the "what is this" - info.
Arrival Scan is what is sounds like.

After we get the the "departure scan", which, according to UPS, means, it has moved along, it sits in Cologne.
Which leaves an actual window open for getting it to us by tomorrow.

I have read several posts here from people having early deliverys,
and that was also the case with my MPB 15" this summer.

That machine was three days early, and no notification from UPS before delivery.

I got home one day, and there it was.

Talk about a happy surprise!

What do you say, let's make it an informal competition about who is getting theirs first?

Could be fun!

My i7 is in the same shipment as you guys, my rescheduled delivery for the 23rd has also disappeared. I think they are just toying with us, I had just got used to the idea that it wasn't going to be here until next week, and now I have got my hopes up for tomorrow again!!

I am in the UK BTW.

Hopefully you're right. I have my doubts whether they can get them to the UK, or Sweden in your case, and then onto a truck somewhere for a delivery tomorrow, overnight.

We'll just have to check the tracker in the morning and hope it says out for delivery. ;)

WAIT.... IT'S BACK TO SAYING 20TH!! :D:D:eek::eek:

You are unofficially invited and challenged!

Let us now for once settle the old quarrel the vikings started when they invaded your island some thousand years ago.
Who rock the most? Swedes or Brits? :))

Here's my stats (in swedish, but anyone can read that, right?

Well, those guys are constantly getting speeding tickets for a reason, you know.

Something about competition..

Here is mine. :) Looks like yours got scanned slightly earlier?

So we wait and see tomorrow. This is my first Mac so I can't wait.

Well, my i7/8gb/1tb/29th/10 was scanned by UPS in Tamsworth UK at 7pm this evening. It'll be here Monday. Doubt it will make it here tomorrow, on past experience.

I don't think UK/IE orders pass through the mainland necessarily. They certainly don't scan merge-in-transit until they hit the UK.

REally? A switcher? Whats your specs?
You are going to be absolutely blown away!!!

Started out with a 20" imac 2.0 ghz (actually it began with the alu iphone..) some two years ago, and oh, my, god.

You can really see why Apple needs control over the software and hardware.
Everything just runs so smooth you can't believe it.

At work we got XP PRO PC's at 3.06 ghz, 2 gb ram, and they are not nowhere NEAR that 2.0 ghz imac!! Takes about 10 minutes to boot after a weekend!

No, Apple may SEEM expensive, but after one hour with it, you will be hooked for life. This is what computing should be like.

I am now on a Macbook Pro 2.8ghz, 15 " (summer 2009), which I bought after selling my white macbook.
So I've been through a couple of them.
They have all been wonderful,

but I am into music produsction, and finally realised that only the top models are good enough if you are working heavy projects.

Congrats to a wonderful choice!

Congrats to a wonderful choice!

Thanks. :)

I have a 4 year old PC at the moment, Just for fun I ran Geekbench on it the other day and it scored a massive 2265!

I am hoping my i7 is going to be great.

I will be doing some stuff with Reason and Record (something to be very grateful to Sweden for!!) on mine. Really looking forward to it.

Reason? You are into electronic music? As a complement, I Can really recommed Logic Studio,
the most valuable recording/production system on the planet.
You will also get about 4gb of apple loops and a LOT of great software instruments.
It also runs, off course, extremely well on a macintosh computer,

Check into it next time your money burns in your pocket.!

Hey all,

one question: has anyone from Germany ordering a BTO i7 already received his machine?

I've ordered an i7 with the 2TB HD, AppleCare and Aperture on 10/20 probably 5 hours after the announcement.

Last Friday, it went "Prepared for shipment". On Saturday, I got the shipping notice (without a tracking number, as the order was/is being merged in Prague/CZ), with a delivery date of 11/24 "or earlier". On Monday I got a mail explaining to me that as it is going to be merged with the other stuff I ordered and sent out as one package, I will receive tracking information within 4-5 days.

Now, yesterday I receive a mail from Apple with my order number in the subject. Already getting my hopes up, I open the mail only to find out that it is the same mail I got on Monday ("you will receive your tracking information within the next 4-5 days").

What's going on here? Has anybody else seen something like this?

We have a long way to go, but let's get going folks...I wanna see a 5,000 post thread!

Bryan

You have made several predictions and they have all come true.
Could you please predict that my system will be on my desk by early next week. Please!!!!!

I am truly tired of reading these posts as I have been here since the the start. In fact I could not be more disappointed with how Apple has treated me as a first time purchaser. Ordered 24" sept 16. Told I would have it in 10 to 12 days. Parted with over $3k. Waited over a month to Oct 21 only to find the order was cancelled. Ordered 27" i7 Oct 24th through the Apple store here in Vancouver BC. Now its Nov 20th and nobody can tell me anything other than "Order in Process". Apple, your process sucks big time. The system you make may surpass the word AWESOME, but your process sucks big time. I own a lot of toys and this one is the worst experience I have ever had, can't even think of a close second. Steve, Steve, Steve, I thought your company was a well oiled machine. I was wrong. JUST SEND ME WHAT I PAID FOR.

RaySpotter, you have been through an awful lot. I am just as astonished as you. Perhaps a call to a supervisor is in order? I can't believe it is taking this long for you to get your machine...

Bryan

Mine left East Midlands airport at 5.20 this morning, it's in transit and on time for delivery today. Hopefully that switches to 'Out for Delivery' on Ups soon (it already says that on Apple), then we'll know for sure.

Good luck GM and Wondermint. ;)

I'm in Germany & ordered a i7 BTO on the 11/11 and got an email yesterday noting it was shipping and due for 24th or earlier.

I have two numbers but neither seem to be tracking numbers for anyone Theres an 81xxxxxxxx number in the email & a 31xxxxxxxxx number on the order status page but neither work in TNT, UPS or DPD.

Going to phone them.

Same to you!

Let's see who gets The first one, first post wins!

Talked to Apple apparently its in internal tracking at the moment and they are unable to provide further tracking information. She couldn't even confirm who the final carrier would be.

A little annoying after being able to track the MBP all the way from China to Germany, that all I know is that its on route and should be delivered on or before the 24th. (Turning up on the 23rd is much better for me, due to commitments at the beginning of the week)
