Just watched the news, apparently there's a cargo plane accident in Pudong International Airport Shanghai. My i7 will be delayed as its boarding a flight there. :(

just got my i7 2TB today, 9 days from order to delivery.

Lucky for you. I ordered mine on the 14th with expedited shipping. It will most likely come Monday, as it has cleared Canadian customs in Mount Hope, and is heading westward.

I'm still cringing the date, due to the most likely possibility that it will be damaged or defective somehow, according to all of the reports on here. :(

Coffe or just numbers or is it just the remote?

Hi I’m new on the APPLE front. I hope the purchase of the imac is not ending in a sort of vista debacle. I switched from PC to the new imac for one reason only: it has to work if I want to use it. Hopefully all negative comments don't strike my luck. But back on topic; I’m still waiting for my new miracle...
I do not understand the shipment info Apple is giving. It stands still and doesn’t really update. Its like someone has to update the system manually and is overwhelmed by the numbers or likes to have coffee every minute. ;-)
But again back to the topic; I see people with real shipment tracking in this thread.. but I can't see anything or anny T&T info in the Apple tracking system. (as of shown in the picture)
Because delivery is estimated on December the first, I would recon the T&T info should be there already. Does someone else have or hade the same delivery experience symptoms? If yes what happens next and is the estimate that Apple is showing true?

Kind regards.

Alex

Hey, I ordered the 27" i7 with the remote too, getting it sent here in Belgium.
Anyways, im in the same situation than you. i think that both your orders have to merge somewhere before they finally head to you. I suppose, that only once this merge was done will we get the whole package tracking info...

Once again, thats what i believe is gonna happen coz i havent done this before either.

Maybe i should have ordered the remote separetly and it wouldn't have slowed down the thing..

Hopefully it happens this weekend... Looking at the 28 November date that’s in the order details.

And i hope the imac is in good health IF it arives next week.
I would be disappointed if the screen flickers or is yellow. A cracked screen sucks too, but is easily explained. Only that **** wait period....

Does anyone else knows what happens next?

I've got exactly the same situation with my order. I called Apple Store yesterday and they said, that iMac 27" is coming from China and Apple Care which I also ordered is in Netherlands. So they will have to merge those two and after that they'll assign the order to a carrier. That's when you will get a tracking number.

Hello iMac-Worshippers,

One week ago I lost my mind and ordered an iMac 27 i7 4GB 2TB with remote, Apple Care and MiniDisplayport2DVI-adapter. Today I decided to register to share my shipping experience and to get a clue how to track the order on its way to Germany.

Up to now the following happened:

21 Nov: Order placed online in the Apple Online Education Store
23 Nov: Shipping prepared
26 Nov: Shipped with estimated delivery on or before Dec 7
27 Nov: Apple Care has become active

While all seems well, it's annoying that there is no tracking information (the infamous "Merge In Transit" problem?) and that they activate Apple Care before the machine is even here. That's a little bit "annoying" from my "I just trusted them with more than 2k Euros " business point of view...

Anyways:

Does anybody know how to use the tracking number 0071############## and why the "Items shipped" email notification does include a different shipment reference number 810#######?

Good luck with your deliveries,
SD.

I ordered an i7 iMac yesterday. Estimated Shipping: Dec 11th, Estimated delivery time is 22nd December.

I originally ordered one a week or so ago but decided to cancel and wait until Black Friday to see what the deals were. Unfortunately, as a student, the deals didn't effect me so I've basically just delayed the whole process for no reason.

I can't wait to receive it. This is the first Mac that i've ordered online (bought others in-store).

You should have asked here, I could have told you that.

It's awfully quiet in here. Must just be a few of us still waiting...

My "Current Delivery Status": "In Transit to Customer - Shipment on
Schedule" still says "27 Nov 2009" I might have expected something to
change here since it's now the 28th.

Have the same issue here, no update on the whereabouts on my iMac i7 for almost a week now.

I do not even have such a delivery tracking overwiew... :-(

I have the same problem, i guess its because you ordered more than one item like me and we will get the updated information once the different packages (which i belive come from different places) merge into one and then head down to you.

Next time i order something with apple i will order things separatly

Anyways, i just can't wait any longer!!!! hope it comes next week and not on the 12th as it says (ordered on the 22nd evening and was shipped by the 26th so why would it take more than two weeks wondering around the world to get here???)

Ditto. I loved the automatic transfer from my MBP to the i7. Definitely worth the wait. Good luck to those still waiting:)
Yes. Migration Assistant taking my entire user account and installed programs and settings and even desktop background across was great. SO much easier than transplanting a Windows installation.

You guys who ordered on 21 Nov and got your orders shipped on 26 Nov are killing me. I ordered my i7 on 19 Nov and it still has not yet shipped. Going a bit crazy wondering why people who ordered days after me have already shipped (and in some cases even received!).

I got express shipping and my order page still says delivery by 4 Dec, so I guess I'll wait and see. If it's not shipped by 2 Dec, I'll start calling and politely asking what's going on.

Well, your delivery time seems to be the same. Maybe your shipment status is out of date or your iMac is shipped directly without some happy intransit meeting with some other parts.

Just order my Imac 27" i7 on black friday

I just order a new imac 27" I7 with 8gig 4x2gig upgrade.

Ditto! I ordered on the 21st, no movement. I don't get how others get in front of the queue, as obviously there's only one manufacturing plant. Sucks more to be you as you ordered on the 19th!

I'm going to be calling Wednesday morning asking where the hell my machine is.

SD.

You can track via www.tnt.com with the reference number usually starting with 8 (if they shipped via TNT for you). You won't see any shipment tracking within the apple account.

I had two iMacs delivered within 8 days from one another (original one and replacement), TNT performed very well on both.

LOL can you ask them where mine is too?

The weeks are just flying by.. today its been 30 days since i ordered my imac... likely to be another 2 weeks too i guess.. teaches me a lesson about preordering through a reseller..

I have learnt my lesson from my mistake as well, mostly from the info you have posted in this thread and in the Aussie one. A genuine thank you again dronus.

I have cancelled my order with the reseller and re ordered online on Nov 27. Called apple service ( again ) and told them my story ( again ) only this time amazingly they wanted to make me happy. I explained my first attempt to buy an Imac back in Sept turned into an almost 5 week wait and ended with my order getting cancelled by Apple on Oct 21. My second attempt on Oct 24turned into another 5 week wait where I finally gave up on the reseller and cancelled my self. I am however buying all the peripherals there as I still like to support local business. The service agent at apple gave me expedited shipping on my online order and a free printer. Not the $129 dollar crap either but the Epson 1400. Still not the class of printer I would be interested in but what the hey, my dad will love on x-mas morning. I should expect my system to show up around the 15th or 16th of Dec so things are looking up. What an ordeal this has been but I have hung on to the fact that in the end it will be worth it. I do however have a much lower respect for Apples policies and how they affect the final user.

Is it me or has it gotten rather lonely in here. Its like the party ended hours ago and we are the die hards still standing or too drunk to leave. I am aching more than ever before for the day that I can sign out of this thread.

Mistakes are only mistakes if they are repeated a second time.
cheers, and goday " eh "
