My i7, ordered on the 21st, has now moved to Prepared for Shipment. Hopefully I might actually get it this side of Christmas.

Really peeved that there's a load of people who ordered afterwards who have had theirs ship, or even received the machine,

I guess besides logistics & fufillment problem on Apple's side. This also has alot to do with flight frequencies. Heard from a friend at DHL that due to high volumes on certain routes, some ppl will actually rcv their parcels slighty earlier than others...

But I think this quad core iMacs are really a screw up as they should have just released the machines a few weeks later... So as to prepare their production & logistics

I do finally have a tracking number (ordered early on 19 Nov), but I've already lost a day to an exception because of "package received after FedEx cutoff". Here's hoping that there are no additional problems. Now on track for a delivery by 3 Dec, which would make it fifteen full days between order and delivery. Definitely a far cry away from my current iMac, which I ordered on Black Friday two years ago and had at my house three days later.

So the mooks at UPS missed their flight on Friday evening to get my iMac i7 here by Monday.

Guaranteed shipment date of Nov 30.
Now I am getting it Dec 1. I know it's going to be damaged, because logically, transporting it via ground from Mount Hope, Ontario to Edmonton, Alberta is going to be faster than just waiting for it to fly out on a later flight.

At least Apple gave me $25 off.
I'm gonna have fun when it comes in tomorrow, beat up to hell.

Shipped to OXFORD, GB 29 Nov 2009
Estimated Delivery Date (Subject to change) 04 Dec 2009 (Subject to change)
Current Delivery Status Shipment dispatched 29 Nov 2009

So, chances that it will actually arrive on the 4th?

Actually, gets interesting. I have tracking numbers for everything except the iMac. The iMac is saying delivery between 8-11th December (my original estimate), but the tracking on the other items is listing the 4th. So, when is this all going to come? I need to take a day off work to accept it!

This merge in transit thing is a pain isnt it?
Because we actually have no idea of where the imac or anything else actually is on this planet...

Anyways, i just can't wait anymore... :-(

Still going back and forth on my decision, it's killing me. I can't decide between the i5 and i7. On one hand I can go and get the i5 from the apple store and have it right now, but in the long run will I regret not having the i7? What's $200 more when you're already spending $2,000. But then with all of the shipping delays and issues surrounding these machines who knows when I'll actually have a working i7 machine.

How can Apply justify this? For custom configurations on iMacs, if you order before 12/16/09 midnight you're guaranteed to have it on or before 12/24/09. That's a weeks time, it doesn't seem feasible to me that they could get me an i7 in a week.

Hey all, longtime lurker first post :)

Just ordered an i5 over the weekend and I got an expected ship date of 14 December. Checked my order status though and it shows as "Prepared for Shipment". Although I did order something else along with the iMac (free printer promo) so maybe it's just the printer shipping first. Hoping against hope everything ships together though!

IT SHIPPED!!!
Delivery date - 1 December. Can't wait.

Mine shipped on 21st. Still not arrived. Still no trAcking number. Status update on 27th 29th and 30th. Still synchreon technologies.

Got my iMac i7 today (ordered Nov 14.)

Cracked bottom left screen. Apple is giving me a $100 credit while I wait to get this fixed.

EDIT: Don't know if this makes a difference, but the serial number starts with W8947, so the 47th week of production? And they still couldn't pack it right?

So tired, tired of waiting...

Waiting for a 27" i7. The wait is agony now.

Ordered - 19th Nov
Shipped - 23rd Nov
Estimated Delivery Date - 4th Dec
Current Delivery Status - 30th Nov

The Assigned Carrier details haven't changed, so does this mean it's coming on the 30th or the 4th? Any help would be appreciated :)

Well, it's the 30th and nothing. Not a Carrier Tracking Number. Not an Assigned Carrier. Not a grumpy bloke manhandling my beloved machine to the door with a friendly "hurry up and sign this". Nowt.

Fingers crossed for this Friday, be a good weekend though :D

I'm surprised, I thought ours shipped pretty much together. What did your original shipping email say? Mine said 1st Dec and my "Current Delivery Status" is now "Shipment dispatched" on "30 Nov 2009". Plus the UPS tracking says Scheduled Delivery of 12/01/2009.

You have to wonder what is going on. I'm ready to pull the trigger on a new I7, but I am waiting for some sort of acknowledgment from Apple, along with an FAQ on the various fixes that will be needed. Your particular problem might be a result of rough handling or bad packaging or both, or it could be something worse. The problem is, no one seems to know.

Packaging was fine.

Peel back the plastic film to see the black glass chipped. Cut myself lifting it out of the box too.

Aside from that, I'm happy with the machine. Got a WD drive (thank God/Allah/Buddah.) Very zippy. Core Image/Animation effects don't lag like my old 2.66/9400m setup.

I haven't been following this thread very closely since I received my i7 a couple of weeks ago :).

Today is the last day of November. After the new iMacs were announced in late October, we all became too familiar with the "Ships November." There was a lot of moaning at the beginning of this month about Apple's failure to update shipping to a specific timeframe (as it is now, "Ships 7-10 business days.")

My questions is, has everyone that ordered a new iMac during the "Ships November" had their iMac shipped?

Ordered on November 14th; a few days before the shipping date was actualised to days and not just November. Today my order got its UPS tracking number at 15:30 h. Looks like it will be there tomorrow. Hopefully without any bugs... Shipping started at November 21th

I think mine's been in the same container as yours. I'll get mine on Wednesday - It's an extra hop to Dublin.

Kinda regretting getting it delivered to work. The UPS tracking page says 17.5kg. Eek! Taxi for trollied!

Pete.

Welcome to the Mac family. I've been a PC user for 25 years and will continue to be until I retire HOWEVER, not at home. My cousin had tried to get me to switch to the Mac for several years especially since I had a part-time wedding photography business. Three years ago this week I bought a MacBook Pro 17". I love it as much today as when I bought it. I've been waiting for my 8 year old Dell to bite the dust. I may have helped it along by kicking it on to the floor:D, just kidding. Due to all of the anti-virus software, especially Norton 360, it took up to 40 minutes to boot to where it could be used. I was not about to start over with a total reformat and fresh install of XP, SP1, SP2, SP3, and all of the iterations of software.

My i7 arrived on the morning of the 25th. Six days later and all is well. This is a super machine. I tell my friends "Once you go Mac, you'll never go back". At least for me, that's true.

So a tracking number and carrier finally show up today... "UK Distribution Centre". WTF? So much for delivery before the 1st December.

Same happened to me today... at the end of the day it changed to a real carrier. (15:30 h) In my case it was UPS.
Only difference; not UK but NL prefix. I believe it will show up tomorrow!

You guys who get updates on your tracking status are sooooo lucky! I just wanna know where my computer that i paaaaaaiiiid for already is!
I dont care if that doesnt bump up the time of delivery, by the end of the week is fine, just tell me where it is!!

aaaaaaarg!

(i would tho love if it came earlier than it says... coz right now it kinda says next saturday on one (which is kind of impossible i think) and the other one is something like a week later...)
