Why is everything listed as 12/01??? I'm trying to get a feel for the lag time between the updating of the FedEx Site and/or the Apple Order Status page and the...ooooooohhhhh, I just got it. It *is* all on the 1st...damn rotation of the Earth got me again.

It's here, and 45 mins into the migration assistant. Another 45 to go. It's restoring from my Time Machine backup - two users and about 100GB of data. So far so good, screen looks fine, no chips or dings that I can see, though I've not been anal about it. Hard drive is silent - no idea what make.

Perhaps Apple are shipping you some spring rolls?

Or they have the Chicken of the VNC or Cyberduck preinstalled. Hmmm... ;-)

Anyways...it's not really funny anymore...at least as long as my shipment is merged in transit in the middle of nowhere...without anybody knowing how long...

My iMac 27" i7 is being shipped out today with an expected delivery date of 12/03. Under product it says WORLD EASE, I wonder what that means...code name for "perfect condition/working iMac?"

I hope the hell UPS does not come early that day as I have a long day of work ahead of me. Usually they don't show up to my complex until around 5:00pm so I will be cutting out early...:D

Often these updates are done retrospectively. Some guy with a scanner does his thing but doesn't download to the server until hours later. You might find that in a few hours it'll have jumped a whole bunch of stages.

On the up side, good god is this thing huge. It feels wider rather than taller, in comparison to the 24". I mean disproportionately so. Optical illusion of course. Or is it? Ah, it's 16:9 where the 24" was slightly squarer at 14:9.

Not so keen on the reflective screen though.

Question: was there an option for merging items into one shipment? It seems so, but maybe I missed it???

All I know is that the remote is coming via "Federal Express," the printer I got is coming via "FedEx Ground," and the iMac 27" Quad i7 with wired keyboard and iWork preinstalled has "not yet shipped" (ordered 11/25) and who knows how/when it is coming. *sigh* :(

My I7 now moved from Wed delivery to Friday with a "Shipping Exception". 12/1 Package Received after Fedex cutoff. Nice; I'll have the whole weekend to break it in.

I don't understand why some people have shipping times of a week, shipping times of less than a week, and some, i.e. ME have a shipping time of 2 weeks or more!!!
What the hell????

I ordered an i7 with 2 tb, displayport adapter, remote and apple care. the imac was configured pretty fast. it was shipped pretty fast. but it was shipped to the czech republic where is "merged in transit" with the rest of the order. this "merge in transit" needs way too much time, esspecially as i could as well have ordered the additional items seperately. not only do you have to wait way longer than others, you also have no working tracking and apple care starts before you even have the machine. that is rather unacceptable for a > 2 k€ order...

That does suck. I just wish I would have a better idea of when the main piece of my order is going to ship.

My other 2 packages are in my city: I missed the printer already and I'm sure I'll miss the remote since it's on the truck for delivery. I'm going to try to work from home tomorrow to see if I can be there for them, which is the (relatively minor) downside to not having the shipping items merged into one shipment.

my 21.5" has the same thing, originally suppose to be delivered on 2nd Dec with shipping exception went to Friday 4th.

Hope it does not get delayed until next week

Well my tracking information got updated. This morning, it said I'd have it delivered tomorrow, now the estimated delivery date dissapeared. If it was in KY, would would it go to AK?? UPS makes no sense whatsoever, especially being I paid for express shipping. ARGH

What the hell????

If you ordered anything with it, apple care, remote, anything, then they ship it to a distribution centre in your country, merge the items, then pass it on to UPS or FEDEX. If you order the mac alone, it is UPS'd direct to your door. One way takes two weeks, the other a few days.

at last it arived.... and it's looking good! knocking on wood... everything is oke... again knocking on wood.

order: 14th November.
shiped: 21th November
Merge: 28 or 30 November
