Waiting for 27" Quad to SHIP thread

I'm in the same boat, NevadaJack. My replacement i7 is set to ship out today via FedEx and is scheduled to arrive on 12/7. I suspect it will arrive earlier (like my last one did), as FedEx has been increasing their flights because of the holiday shipping season.

FWIW, I had the yellowing issue on my display. I'm not super optimistic about this one working, but we'll see.

I have hopes to see it Friday but beginning to doubt that.

Beside the failed HD, I also noted the yellow tinge on the bottom and mentioned it in this thread somewhere I think. I intended to see if it was a real problem and then call Apple, but the failed HD took care of that. I do mostly digital post processing and am concerned about color balance, etc.

I hate to go through this a 3rd time but will should I find it is causing a serious problem with my images. All the Steve Jobs hype about the "greatest" screen ever may turn out to be a poor choice of words for the master marketer....

We might be on exactly the same pallet--info sent on the 29th, picked up on the 30th within a few minutes of each other, and missed the cutoff. The difference is that you have more info now on yours, and I still got nothing on mine after the 30th.

I can only hope that my computer and yours are indeed hanging out in the same container, and that my status page is just severely lagging. The last update on mine is still the one from the 30th, with the same wording as your entry on the 30th.

You may be okay. There are two FedEx flights due to land in Alaska by 2:00 PM (Alaska time) or so. Fights 28 and 90. 90 was delayed about an hour or so and I am hoping my Missed the Cutoff at 2:48 PM (China time) yesterday and in transit maybe made the 90 fight which lifted off about 10:00PM (China time) last night.

I have become a flight controller because of Apple...

Got an update from UPS. This is good news hopefully!

Apple said I should expect it on next tuesday .. UPS gives me:

Your package is on time with a scheduled delivery date of 12/04/2009.

I. Hope.

You were apparently on flight 28 which landed a short time ago. Next hop will be to Oakland or LA if the same routine is working as when I got my first i7. Flight 90 is due to land in Alaska at 2:30 or so PST.

Got an update from UPS. This is good news hopefully!

Did you get an e-mail update or did the UPS site with your info get updated? My UPS page has been saying the same thing all day (I know others have waited days for shipping info updates, but I'm just trying to see if my preciousss will make it here by Friday):

Did/Does your page show something similar?

Yes. Mine was very similar. And no, did not get any e-mail update. I just checked the UPS site.

Sadly enough I have gotten a "Your package is in the UPS system and has a rescheduled delivery date of 12/07/2009." ...

Even if the iMac has gotten to Germany already... Shouldn't take more than two days from Germany to Norway!

Sorry to hear about your rescheduled date. I've still got hope to get it Friday since mine is still showing "Rescheduled Delivery Date: 12/04/2009". It wasn't very nice of the folks who set up a Friday afternoon meeting that I have to attend, though.

It's a crap shoot... You are a day ahead of me and I would think you would be on one of these flights...BTW, 90 just landed in Alaska. Whether it goes all the way to Memphis or to the other FedEx hubs I don't know...but if your unit is on Flight 28 or 90 and it clears customs quickly, then tomorrow or definitely Friday would look good for delivery.

Nice! I'm still showing 12/4, but not having any updating location info makes me a bit uncertain that it'll make it before the weekend. I'd feel better if it showed that it had departed CN. I really hope it does make on Friday, but not before my @#$% Fri-afternoon meeting ends (who schedules like that, anyway??? ).

FedEx Express customer service still insists the package is on-time for delivery prior to 10:30 am today, even though that's physically impossible if the tracking times are right. The good news is that they say that the thing is directly en route from Shanghai to my local sort station and not Alaska, but I just don't see how they can possibly make it in time. Somebody screwed up somewhere along the way.

At the agent's suggestion, will call their international CS in about ten minutes when they open and see if they can offer any more insight into what's going on.

It's certainly a possibility that you'll get it today. I'd say they did a shoddy job at keeping the log updated since your imac would logically have left CN on the 1st (or even later on the 30th, depending on when the next flight left). Another option is that it left on the 2nd and arrived early this morning at your local sort station and will be on the truck for delivery.

In any case, you'll almost definitely have it for the weekend. Hope we're as fortunate.

Still got "DESTINATION SCAN" from this morning, but that's good I guess.

Means that: "The shipment has arrived at the local UPS facility responsible for final delivery."

I am getting excited again.

Talked to the FedEx international track & trace folks, and they said that the web site is accurate--the package only left the Shanghai depot this morning and is in fact on a plane over the Pacific ocean right now. They said there's a 25% chance the package will show up tomorrow, and more likely it'll be Monday morning.

The FedEx guy said that the delay was because of the Chinese customs officials--they refused to clear my pallet for three full days and gave no reason. I'm pretty disappointed to possibly have to wait a third weekend, but it appears there's nothing I can do about it

my 21.5" boarded the flight 28 or 90 looks like it!!! hopefully delivered tomorrow morning (assuming it will reach US like 3pm PST)
