I'm in the same boat, NevadaJack. My replacement i7 is set to ship out today via FedEx and is scheduled to arrive on 12/7. I suspect it will arrive earlier (like my last one did), as FedEx has been increasing their flights because of the holiday shipping season.
FWIW, I had the yellowing issue on my display. I'm not super optimistic about this one working, but we'll see.
I have hopes to see it Friday but beginning to doubt that.
Beside the failed HD, I also noted the yellow tinge on the bottom and mentioned it in this thread somewhere I think. I intended to see if it was a real problem and then call Apple, but the failed HD took care of that. I do mostly digital post processing and am concerned about color balance, etc.
I hate to go through this a 3rd time but will should I find it is causing a serious problem with my images. All the Steve Jobs hype about the "greatest" screen ever may turn out to be a poor choice of words for the master marketer....
