Mine says the same thing , maybe is this because of the benzene in the keyboard????? I was supposed to deliver tomorrow.........

I see now, thanks for the response. Did not know you could swap the times on the page. My i7 just updated as ARRIVED at alaska so I think that is a good sign! Now I guess we just have to hope that they get though customs fast and hopefully make it to us by tomorrow morning.

UPS still says "on time" and delivery tomorrow. I think I will call them as soon as they open to confirm if the iMac is on a truck or not.
 
Finally got a working UPS tracking number. Now let's hope that it will not be damaged on the way from the Czech republic to Germany and that it does not flicker. Oh well...who had thought that buying an Apple computer is such a thrill?

By the way: They are sending two packages. So why all this merge in transit then????

Man, my UPS page has not updated one bit except for the "Rescheduled Delivery Date: 12/04/09," which has now changed to "Scheduled Delivery Date: 12/04/2009 (Updated) <line break> 12/07/2009 (Original)."

So, it looks like it's still on schedule to be delivered tomorrow, but who can tell for sure? :confused: :mad:
 
Imac 27" i7 4 core or Mac Pro xeon 4 core for avchd editing ?

I don't know if I post in the right place, anyway, I am about to buy a mac, but I hesitate between the 27" imac with 4 core i7 at 2.8Ghz or for about the same price to buy a Mac pro 4 core 2.93Ghz.
I want to edit avchd movies on final cut and after effects, is it worth getting the Mac Pro ? how much Ram would you recommend ?

So, I called UPS and did the automated tracking thing. It turns out that the shipment is still on time for delivery tomorrow...even though the UPS: Tracking Info page is still only showing the following as the latest status update:

SHANGHAI, CN 12/02/2009 11:24 A.M. ORIGIN SCAN

Here's hoping that I do get it before the weekend!!!

As for advice, I'm no expert on video editing at all, so I will refrain from making any suggestions.

Anybody else expecting delivery via TNT the 7th or 8th in Switzerland?
Got an i5 comming either tomorrow, monday or tuesday. Also don't know TNT's policy if you are not at home. Do they come again?

Good news! My package has departed Alaska as of 3:25pm today! No clue where it is off too next but it looks like it should hopefully make it by tomorrow since it is already past customs.

Mine left Alaska today too, but it's going Fedex instead of UPS. I didn't specify any special shipping, so I'm not sure why. I don't know if it's ground or air either.

Flight 90 is on its way to Memphis and will arrive there about 11:30 CST... looks good for those who cleared in Anchorage.

From Memphis the units will go to the individual cities for delivery (by air.)

Mine is still sitting in Shanghai:mad:

Just curious from those of you receiving your computers in the upcoming days whether it was closer to 7 or 10. Might give us an idea if they are starting to catch up with production. If closer to 10 days it means they are "falling" behind and can't catchup to demand. If closer to 7 days that might mean they are getting caught up and it might drop down to 3-5 days fairly soon. Just a guess. :cool:

Hey jotadeo. I'm in the same 'boat' as you. No updates since the early morning of 12-2. THanks for the report about what UPS told you when you called them.

Does every order actually get slowed down by the Chinese customs clearance? I thought it was just random orders that tended to get picked and are subsequently slowed down as a result. Can't image the Chinese having the man power or time to go through every since order. I really think it is spot checks and some are unlucky to get picked.

Ok it just updated recently I suppose. Bad news! It now switched from 12-4 to 12-7. Strange how it was 'on time' with a 12-4 delivery and is now still 'on time' with a 12-7 delivery:

Received my Replacement i7

I received my replacement i7. No cracks, discoloration, warps, video problems etc... perfect condition.

I did notice they changed the design of upper Styrofoam blocks that hold the top of the iMac in place.

Congratulations! That's interesting on the styrofoam blocks. Can you see how they improved upon the previous version?
