What does this mean?

Oh man... Ordered on Nov 22, 27" i7.

Looks like UPS is sending this thing on a merry little journey, like a Billy map from those old Family Circus comics.

a friend of mine ordered a mac pro and a ACD 23" the mac pro box was all ruinned, it was like it was dragged on the airport runway lolol, and it had a few bumps. a week and so as passed and nothing wrong with it.

It's unbeliveble what they do with the shippment.

you've got to be freaking kidding me. the bottom half of my screen is visibly yellow... i'm pissed.
[wrong thread]

So, have been with the i7 for several hours now. No yellow tinge, no cracked glass, but there is a noise, which sounds like it's coming from the upper left-side of the computer. A high-pitched noise, like a...it's hard to describe. It sounds like a chittering, almost like the hard drive, but not (the hard drive, while quiet, makes its own distinct noise--this is definitely different). The noise is very high-pitched, and it comes and goes depending on where I position my head in relation to the computer. If I sit back, I can't hear it at all. If I lean in over my desk, I can hear it very distinctly.

Not entirely sure what to do about this and if it's serious or not.

The other thing I'm noticing is that the CPU fan spins up every once in a while, which I'm not used to. In two years of owning my 2007 iMac, I don't think I ever heard any of its fans, even after running Handbrake for days at a time. This thing spins its CPU fan up once or twice an hour for several minutes at a time. Anyone else noticing this?

no problems so far, except where to put the old screen. ;-)

I am really surprised that it was not damaged during transport and that it did not have dead pixels on the screen and on the isight sensor and that it did not flickr. So I am a happy camper.

Althought neither keyboard nor mouse are ergonomically fit for me. I will continue using the diNovo Edge and the MX Air. Although it's bad, that only the MX Air has OS X preference panel support. Would be nice to use the function keys...

Congratulations! Let us know how it is.

Enjoy!!! :)

Thanks! It's awesome. Perfect. I love it. No problems. No yellow tint, no flickering screen and obviously not DOA.

Installed several games (EVE Online is insane on that screen), and several apps. Runs like a dream.

Hope everyone else get's a good one soon!

Thanks for the good wishes. Mine is in-state and on it's way here, so I should have it Monday. I'd sure like to have it now, though. :) That's ok, the extra little wait will make it all that better once it does get here.

Glad you got yours and it's in great shape!

5000 posts is just around the corner.......
I'm still here and still waiting but should see some movement on my system next week. Ordered 24" Sept 17 and cancelled by Apple Oct 21st, I Cancelled Oct 26th order of 27" from reseller on Nov 26th, ordered online Nov 27th, shipping Dec 11 with arrival around the 16th. I hope this happens or I'm gonna freak cause it's been three YES THREE long months since I decided to go mac when my PC died. I have learned one thing from all this reading and a few very wise people here in MR. That is, to wait for REV b or until all the hubbub dies down before ordering a system. Very wise indeed. No need to name names, you know who you are.
Come on 5000

Mine took the same route from China to Osaka to Anchorage all in one day yesterday and was delivered this morning by ups. You'll most likely see it Monday.

When I went to bed on Thursday, at 2300 hours PST I noticed it was still in Alaska. I woke up Friday around 0830 PST and thought you better get up and check the status. I was still sitting on the edge of the bed naked and the bell rang! By the time I got dressed and to the door UPS was back in the truck and leaving!

So, a few calls to the local UPS Customer center I was able to meet the driver in my area and get the package! (Other wise I would have had to wait until Monday for delivery or P/U!) :(

Well I got my new 27" iMac 2.8 Ghz i7 Friday morning! No signs of damage on the carton. I set it up and and turned it on and transferred files using the Software on it and a firewire 4 Cable with the adapter to 8 that Apple sells, to my flat screen 17" iMac. It worked perfectly! ;)

No cracked screen, HD seems pretty quite, no yellow tinge. Hooked right up with my WiFi home system with no problems! Wireless key board & mouse connected with no problems. (I placed an iSkin on the keyboard, seems to do what it's supposed too.)

Today, I had a meeting that took most of the day, so I didn't get to play much with it! I have noticed my screen blinking a couple of times tonight! I will keep a close eye on that!

Gad, that 27 " screen is big! Of course, I'm enjoying the speed too! :D

Still waiting. Apple really do take the award for slowest, ********* shipping in the UK.

My iMac should have arrived into the UK and merged with the other items on my order on Friday, or yesterday at the latest (according to the so-called tracking page and the phone support agents). I still have no UPS tracking number, no idea where it is or what is happening.

It's a catch-22 situation. If I had known this would happen, I would have probably gone to a retail store and picked up a stock model - but you can't get i7s, which forces you to the Apple Store and their appalling shipping.

I guess my main bug bear is the fact that the US customers get full tracking from the moment it leaves Shanghai, and also have the option of expedited shipping. We get nothing, and shipping that takes 2 weeks with no way of paying to speed it up.

Ordered mine on November 30th.

2.8GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7
4GB 1066MHz DDR3 SDRAM - 2x2GB
1TB Serial ATA Drive
ATI Radeon HD 4850 512MB
8x double-layer SuperDrive
Apple Magic Mouse
Apple Wireless Keyboard (English) and User's Guide
Country Kit
AppleCare

Shipping date slated for the 14th and delivery on the 17th. Any idea what week this computer may fall into it? I am a little uneasy about the yellow tint, and to a lesser extent DOA possibilities.

Wondering about this myself. I believe there is some way to tell from what I've seen in the forums. I think I've read that it's a part of the serial number or something like that. I don't know if it's physically on the computer itself or if you can tell from the order number, etc. Anyone?

Regarding shipping, mine is most certainly coming tomorrow, though UPS is not very good at updating their tracking info (unless it is still (26 hours +) making the 105-mile in-state journey to our local sorting facility).

I ordered my BTO i7 at 27:th November from Apple Store Finland (add a couple of days due to bank transfer).

Estimated shipment on 16 Dec, 2009.
Estimated delivery on or before 28 Dec, 2009.

So much waiting :(

Mine came on 12-04

ordered on 11-24

so far everything is fine except CS2 not working , the screen is a bit more yellow at the bottom but my other G5 is dead so I am happy!
