My iMac finally departed Alaska.

Here's what I don't understand...

I live in NY. It left China, arrived in KY, from KY it went to Alaska, now on it's way to NY. Why would it go to Alaska, if it was in KY?! What sense does that make?! Now I'm worried it's going to be damaged due to being shipped to Alaska for no apparent reason. UPS are such morons.

Strange things happen...
My iMac arrived yesterday around 2 a clock.
Later that evening Apple sent me te following mail. (in dutch) Telling me that they are sorry and my order is arriving two days later... December the 3th
Mmmm.... didn’t order anything else. (checked order number; its the imac)

Geachte ......,

Hey

On my shipment status i have two indications that i need clarification on dunno if you guys can help.

the first one is that :
Estimated Delivery Date (Subject to change) 09 Dec 2009 (Subject to change) --> this is pretty clear...

but then Current Delivery Status In Transit to Customer - Shipment on Schedule 05 Dec 2009 --> less clear...

Does it mean it will come here around the 9th, but that on the 5th or around then, my shipping info should evolve (my package has to merge in transit)... ??

I recon the 9th... looking at my order. I had the date 28 November (changed to 30 November over night) and estimated delivery 1 December. It arrived yesterday...

I think you ordered more then the iMac alone. The first date could be the merge date between the imac and the second item you ordered.
(assumption)

Mine says the same thing - Estimated Delivery is the 12th December, but the line below is the 5th.

I hope the tracking number with UPS starts working soon, I would like to know where my Mac is. :)

The 5th is saturday anyways, i don't think they deliver on weekends, in Belgium anyways.

What i hope is that once it merged (coz im sure they do work on saturdays in the distribution centers) it will go faster than the estimate delivery date...

28th (in my case) was Saturday.. it shifted to Monday 30th November on Sunday the 29th of November.
The estimated date stayed on 1 December. And that date came true.
Yesterday my iMac arrived

Ask and ye shall receive. Tracking number started working now. But UPS' site is kind of bad, just said that it's "In transit". Oh well, something is happening! :D

Last night status changed to "Prepared for shipment" and this morning I got an e-mail saying it had shipped! Apple estimated shipping in 5-7 business days and it shipped at the beginning of the 6th day...not too bad.

The not-so-good part is that the estimated delivery day is the 8th. Hopefully it caught it's plane this a.m. and will make it here before the weekend. *fingers crossed* In any case, I just hope it arrives safe and sound and without cracked glass, yellow tint, flickering, or excessive HDD noise (gotta love revision A)...or anything else that would make it sendbackable.

Mine is the exact same. 8.dec. It's in transit now, so it might be possible to get it before weekend, but I don't expect it before next week. Let's hope.

There is hope! UPS Tracking Info site is now saying "Rescheduled Delivery Date:12/04/2009." :D

Where are you tracking it? The UPS tracker doesn't say anything on delivery date .. only that it shipped 1.dec and is "In transit"...

Now I'm getting really nervous. My computer's shipment status still says the exact same thing it said yesterday morning:
Code:
Nov 29, 2009 8:49 PM
Shipment information sent to FedEx

Nov 30, 2009 10:24 AM
Picked up
SHANGHAI CN

Nov 30, 2009 10:37 AM
Left FedEx origin facility
SHANGHAI CN

Nov 30, 2009 2:24 PM
Picked up
SHANGHAI CN
Package received after FedEx cutoff
Fedex still says the shipment is "On schedule" and scheduled for delivery before 10:30 tomorrow morning, but it hasn't moved from China. No shipment to Alaska, no customs clearance details, nothing.

You guys who have had these things delivered via FedEx--is there any chance at all it's really going to arrive tomorrow, or should I be calling Apple and asking what's up? Will they be able to tell me anything at all?

On the UPS: Tracking Information page (The U.S. one is here) the "Rescheduled Delivery Date" field (where mine says 12/4 :)) is just below the "Status" field (where it says "In Transit"). Maybe yours just hasn't updated yet?

Mine's coming by Dec. 8, hopefully, though I trust UPS less than FedEx, who delivered my DOA first one :(

I just hope the new one has no issues...seriously, shouldn't nearly $2,600 for a computer sort of guarantee a working, flawless piece of machinery, especially the second time around. Apple's people are very nice and helpful, but, from the things I've been reading, they need to get their house in order over there a bit.

Thanks! The Norwegian site didn't show any real info, but the US one did. My iMac is in APELDOORN, NL already. Apple said 8.dec, but I think I will call UPS tomorrow - maybe I can get it on friday. :D

My replacement i7 is scheduled for Dec 7 delivery having been ordered 11/19/2009. I am still hoping FedEx may get it here by Friday as they did my first one and that this time the HD doesn't fail after 4 days.

On the Apple handling of these deliveries I sent Steve Jobs a FedEx missile yesterday regarding the fiasco of replacement ordering and the lack of some way to put replacement units in front of the line. Never hurts to let the top guy know about his operation outside his office...:D

I'm in the same boat, NevadaJack. My replacement i7 is set to ship out today via FedEx and is scheduled to arrive on 12/7. I suspect it will arrive earlier (like my last one did), as FedEx has been increasing their flights because of the holiday shipping season.

FWIW, I had the yellowing issue on my display. I'm not super optimistic about this one working, but we'll see.

My i7 ordered 25th was shipped today. should have been produced in week 49...I hope everything works properly. if he had any problems, immediately send another computer or do I send back my first? thanks
