Yep. It's been that way for a couple of days now.

I'd say we're getting close!
Bryan

Anyone else thinking how much the guys at Cupertino must be laughing at all of us in this thread right now? I mean, we're going ******* over guessing whether we're going to have our computer tomorrow or the next day or the next day. Reminds me of the scene from Bee Movie when he tries to get out the closed window... "this time! this time! this time! this time!...."

My bank account has an authorization charge for the full amount of the iMac (plus tax) today. Predicting and hoping that tomorrow they will change to "prepared" on the Order Status page (as most people's cards were getting charges on Friday, except I had to authorize my debit card to let such a large charge happen)

However it is also interesting to point out that as I post this at 2:30PM Eastern Time...it is already Monday, 3:30AM in China. So later on tonight China might already be preparing your shipment ;)

Anyone else notice that the duo-core 27" iMac now only shows a 7-10 business day shipping window, even when you configure it with the 4850 card? If Apple was waiting on the graphics card for the quad-core, looks like it's 7-10 business days away.

Yes, it has been discussed. However, European Apple sites are still changing to November when you add the 4850 to the duo-core.

I would also like to point out that the 27" duo core says 7-10 business days, however, says "Next business day delivery available", but then when you add the 4850, the 7-10 business days stays, however, the "Next business day delivery available" goes away. Weird. If it's 7-10 days it should not say next day shipping available for anything...

Why did you create a thread about this? Apple will of course do not send out the computers either sooner or later, depending on who writes here, this thread seems to me like a cry for help. You can not affect anything in the case of Apple.

Apple will send out the computers at the end of this month (and since you ordered i5/i7 then just face the facts). Is it just me who had the feature since the launch of the computers? What have you missed?

GAH, I get mad - what would be achieved with a thread like this? Talk about when the first computer has been sent? "WOW, now my computer has been sent. How does it going for you?" Jadda, jadda.

Come on.

I would not be negatives, but it feels as if everything goes to an exaggeration in the case of Apple. I'm self-Apple users for years and spend lots of money every year, but this behavior has some purely morbid.

Your command of the English language is, eh, not so good. Therefore, your reading comprehension level stinks, therefore, you've taken away false conclusions that we think Apple is looking at this site and just obeying what we say or that we wish they were or something, I don't know, wrong.

No, the site is called MacRumors, where speculation and conjecture about Apple happens. Maybe you will now understand and not be so "negatives" next time.

Not on the UK site, when selecting the 4850, it changes to the NOW famous "November".

What's really funny is that I've been glued to this thread and I don't even have one on order. But I'm definitely getting one. I'm just waiting to see how they perform in the field temperature-wise before placing my order.

Ok, time to break away and go do some house-chores. Watching this thread continuously isn't going to speed things up! (I'm calling myself out here)

Down with Ronnie lol

Don't know how credible this is, but here's the same guy who told me that they would be shipping 'first week of Nov'.

That is kinda weird. It looks genuine but too good to be true. I think the Apple guy is just saying rubbish. Also it does not say for which part of the world they are shipping.

I would also think Apple would update the status of people's orders to "Ships in 7 to 10 days". Strange.

I think the next 7 days will tell us something...

Yes you are right Bryan (finished the house chores ? ;)), we should get something new next week anyway, that Apple is shipping at the end of the month or within the next 2 weeks.

I hope we will get a shipping confirmation with estimated date, via email.

For those who don't understand .....he told us that his imac is gonna be shipped next week and i told him..........ok

I already told you shipments start November 10th

I am probably going to eBay my 2006 Mac Pro (it has upgraded Cloverton Quad Cores: so 8x2.33Ghz) so it is still plenty fast but I think for most things the iMac 4x2.8Ghz i7 will be faster, not to mention it is a killer monitor.

Storage is an issue on the iMac but OWC has an interesting 4-bay RAID-5 FW800 enclosure that I could use for my FCP and Aperture scratch disk.

I am also trying to find a cheap 4/5 bay RAID 5 NAS enclosure that might work for general backup with Time Machine etc. but most are just Jbod or RAID 0/1.

Anyway I am excited for you guys to get your i5s and i7s so you can test them out and post your results.

Ronnie L. told me the same thing...

Ronnie L. is either a great person or a friggin liar! But Ronnie is chatting in the apple store right now... Go ask he or she right now... Next week is i7 week!

I didn't say my iMac was shipping next week. I said shipping begins Nov. 10th.

I think by the time we receive our iMacs, update 10.6.2 will be released,

hmm I'm also wondering if November 14th the official opening in New York City's Broadway and 67th Street on Saturday, will display its 27" i5 and/or i7.

I think apple is surely proud enough to show the costumers it's newest products.

Could this mean that we'll really receive our iMac within 2 weeks (mid November)??

This is a good example of an unfounded rumor..:(

I hear yeah. Was planning to do that myself, but more than just the $200 restocking fee, it's the time it takes to clone and wipe the system that made me decide against that. Will take me the better part of a day to get my new iMac all up and running to my preferences once I get it. Not interesting in doing that twice in one month.

I have it down to a science now :) It does take a few hours, but as I said, I had some work that I had to get out this week, and the MBA just isn't fast enough.

I had a full authorization charge last Thursday (11/05) and nothing has changed on my order page including the fact I can still cancel the order...

I think this is part of the recent delay... I am sure they wanted no problems arising with the 15/17's as they have with the other 27's. I agree that 10.6.2 and the shipping of the Quads will occur at approximately the same time....

Seems reasonable as any other posts...:D

Two other people from Apple just told me that there has been no information given. I think Ronnie may be speculating.

I think Ronnie is surfing around this thread, a Apple undercover agent, and likes a bit of fun amongst facts that nobody knows, besides Steve Jobs.

There are so many Wacom tablets... Which one do you recommend for a moderate user? I was listening to a review of them on a podcast recently. On some models you do get some pretty good free software. I emailed them asking when Photoshop Elements 8 was going to be available. I was thinking of getting one of these but I already have PE 6 so I would prefer the latest version.

Hi, I've used an older Intuos originally, then used a Graphire 4 for about 3 years now and loved every minute of it and I just bought the Wacom Bamboo Fun (Pen & Touch) ... all of the above vere the Medium sized ones and all of those bought at just above $200 and I was happy with each and every one of them. I just couldn't justify the extra $200 to get an Intuos and quite honestly, if you're doing design or photo retouching, the regular $200 ones are plenty enough and way, way superior to the mouse and I would only recommend the Intuos range if you're into some serious Illustrations or digital painting.

I thought I would give the Apple Store chat session a shot. I spoke with Rashaun R. and he said that they do not know what day it will ship in November. I then asked him if it was looking like the next week or so, or if it was going to be towards the end of the month. He said he didn't know and then he went on to tell me that the online store would update first and then everyone in customer service would be briefed on the new shipping dates very shortly thereafter.

Bryan

Steve just loves this.......:apple: They are better at keeping secrets than the US Government.....

14 Business Days left in the Month of November.....
